Luke's joys included gardening, fishing, hunting, listening to and/or watching the St. Louis Cardinals play, recounting stories of his many relationships and experiences, finding humor in life's events, and laughing with his many relatives, friends, parishioners and associates at the humor he so frequently found. Luke loved his faithful wife and companion, Doris, who remained by his side through nine years of marriage including two years of disability. He greatly appreciated the love, support, and many kindnesses given him by all his relatives, friends and parishioners, but particularly for that give by close friends Tim and Beth Scharge, Clinton and Carolyn Wofford, Lil and Ron Trout and Ralph and Skip Nicks and by the wonderful and caring staff of the Knox County Nursing Home who ministered to him with such friendly interaction, competence and compassion.
