Clarence Edward Barnes
Clarence Edward Barnes was born on April 15, 1921 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas
and passed away January 8, 2010 in Lebanon, Illinois.
Clarence served in the U.S. Army during World War II and then worked many
years with the post office in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was united in marriage to Francis Romona Henry in St. Louis, Missouri on
August 20, 1954 and moved to Cuba, Missouri where they taught in the Oak
Shade and Sunnyside rural schools.
He is survived by Francis Romona Bigham and Joe of Alamo, Texas; four
children, Robert Barnes and Ellie of Berkley, Massachusetts, Quentin Barnes
and Laura of Champaign, Illinois, Victoria Frickie of Troy, Illinois and
Carlena Biggs and Don of Salem, Missouri; five grandchildren, Scott Holt of
St. James, Missouri, Jennifer Randle and James of Belleville, Illinois,
Aaron Frickie of Springfield, Missouri, Taylor Turner of Troy, Illinois and
Tessa Barnes of Champaign, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Carol Breslich and
Myra Henry, both of Cuba, Missouri.
A memorial service was held January 16, 2010 at the Lake View Funeral Home
in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Marie Alice Blackwell
Marie Alice Blackwell of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday,
September 25, 1919 at St. Louis, Missouri to Edward and Alice (nee Kohl)
Tayoan and passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Cuba, Missouri at the age
of 90 years, 3 months and 29 days.
Marie was united in marriage to Joseph Blackwell and to this union four
children were born.
Marie spent her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed working in the
yard, taking care of her flowers, fishing and spending time with her family.
She was a long time member of the All Souls Catholic Church in St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Blackwell; two grand-
children, Gina Marie Russo and Eric J. Blackwell; sister, Violet Marzden;
brother, Johnny Tayoan; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Blackwell of Cuba, Missouri, Judith
and husband Theo Sims of Overland, Missouri, Barbara and husband Bobbie
Campbell of Cuba, Missouri and Becky White of the state of Florida; five
grandchildren, Lisa White, Brian, Sean, Licia and Jessica Grayton; one
great granddaughter, Gina Russo; two sisters, Rosie Spindler of Fenton,
Missouri and Loretta Van Fleet of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Eddie
Tayoan of St. Louis, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 10 a.m. until noon
at the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service were held at noon on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Special music was “On Eagles Wings,”
“How Great Thou Art” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Family members served as
casket bearers.
Interment followed at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson
Barracks, Missouri.

David Boldt
David Boldt of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, February 3, 1937 in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Clarence Boldt and Eva Weber Boldt and passed away
on Monday, January 18, 2010 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 15 days.
David served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Margaret Leona Ogle on February 17, 1957 in Steelville, Missouri
and to this union three sons were born.
David worked and retired from ABEX Corp. in St. Louis, Missouri. He invented
the DN&H outdoor woodburning furnace. His hobbies were hunting, fishing,
golfing and playing pinochle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eva Boldt; stepbrother,
Wally Owens; sister-in-law, Shirley Livesay; brothers-in-law, Robert Ogle
and Fred Ogle.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Boldt of the home; children, David F.
Boldt of Belleville, Illinois, William R. Boldt of Farmington, Missouri and
Thomas (Caroline) Boldt of Steelville, Missouri; brother, William Boldt of
Beloit, Wisconsin; sisters, Caroline Daugherty and Marian (David) Kraft all
of New Haven, Connecticut, and Nancy (Mark) Markussen of Seattle, Washington;
brothers-in-law, Richard (Pat) Ogle of Sullivan, Missouri, Ray (Glenna) Ogle
of Iron Mt. Lake, Missouri, James Ogle and sister-in-law Ruth Ogle, all of
Steelville, Missouri.
Visitation was Friday, January 22, 2010 from 5-6 p.m. and Memorial Service
was Friday, January 22, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.

Ruby Christisen
Ruby Christisen nee Simpson of Cuba, Missouri was born on Saturday,
September 2, 1939 in Cherryville, Missouri to John T. Simpson and Lillie A.
Oxendine Simpson and passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the age
of 70 years, 4 months and 21 days.
Ruby married David L. Christisen on June 23, 1956 in Cherryville, Missouri
and to this union three daughters were born.
At one time, she worked at Andres pastry shop in Clayton, Missouri and as
a radiologist technician at MO Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. She
had been employed at Brown Shoe in Steelville, Missouri and Cuba Shoe
Company. She drove a bus for five years at Cuba School and most recently was
a C.N.A. at Gibbs Care Center. She was a member of the Cuba Church of Christ.
Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, crocheting and baking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillie Simpson; infant
brother, Dale Allen Simpson and sister-in-law, Dolores (John) Pitts.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Christisen of the home; children,
Donna Scott (James) of Cuba, Missouri, Connie (Maher) Qutami of New Bloom-
field, Missouri and Laurinda (Richard) Phillips of Cuba, Missouri; sisters,
Margaret (Elgie) Hill of Cuba, Missouri and Betty Sterling of Steelville,
Missouri; brothers Johnny Junior Simpson of Cuba, Missouri, Joseph R.
Simpson of Salem, Missouri, and Dennis (Sheila) Simpson of Steelville,
Missouri; aunt, Tressie Humphrey of Steelville, Missouri; and brother-in-law,
Melvin (Remi) Christisen of Fenton, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 19 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. and Funeral Service
was Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri with Steven Wick officiating.
Burial was at the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.

Sheila Lee Conway
Sheila Lee Conway of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of James M. and
Betty Jo (Cook) Jones on November 2, 1957 at St. Louis, Missouri and passed
away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 52.
Sheila was united in marriage to Jerry D. Conway on February 9, 1977 at
St. Louis and to this union two children were born.
Sheila worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years because she enjoyed
taking care of others. During her career she worked for Phelps County
Regional Medical Center, Missouri Baptist Hospital and more recently at
Advantage Nursing in Sullivan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Leasburg for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed being MeMe to her
five grandchildren, watching TV and tending to her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Morgan Jones; mother-in-law,
Ocie Baxter; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry D. Conway; two children, Christy Conway
and fiancé James Knowlton, Jerry and wife Darlene Conway, all of Cuba,
Missouri; five grandchildren Tesah, James, Elizabeth, Lacie and Emily; mother,
Betty Jo Holcomb of Wentzville, Missouri; three sisters, Debbie and husband
Matthew Kless of Indiana, Tina Jo and husband Dave Steimel of Wentzville,
Missouri and Kimberly and husband Brian Fisher of Richwoods, Missouri;
brother-in-law, Joe and wife Denise Baxter of Lonedell, Missouri;
sister-in-law, Brenda Rice of St. Clair, Missouri; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral was held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Tony Amato, officiating.
Interment followed at Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.

Maggie “Louise” Dotson
Maggie “Louise” Dotson was born October 15, 1915 and passed away
January 23, 2010.
Louise loved the Lord, family and service to the church.
She spent her life nurturing others. Just like Jesus, she went where
others would not and reached those who most thought could not be reached.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Dotson; her parents,
William and Edna Williams; six brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her sister Thelma Robbins; daughter Martha and
son-in-law John Epolito; three grandchildren, Mary Wilson and significant
other, Samuel Brown, Amy Cox and husband Matt and John Peterson; six great
grandchildren, Richard Borsella, Magnus Wilson, Dawn Wilson, William Wilson,
Courtney Cox and Lydia Peterson; two step great grandchildren, Samuel and
Gary Brown.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Hosanna Chapel, Kansas
City, Missouri.
Interment was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Warren
Cemetery, Tea, Missouri.

Richard Leslie Dulany
Richard Leslie Dulany, of Farmington, Missouri, formerly of Steelville,
Missouri was born May 7, 1962 in Springfield, Missouri to Ray Dulany and
Melba May (Winder) Dulany and passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at
Parkland Hospital in Farmington at the age of 47 years.
Richard had worked many years in the restaurant business.
He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and especially his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Melba Dulany and
half-brother, James Perkins.
He is survived by his fiancée, Gaye Bellew of Fredericktown, Missouri;
two sons, Ben Dulany and David Dulany (fiancée Ashley), all of Farmington,
Missouri; one brother, Michael Dulany and wife Delori of Cheney, Kansas;
four half-sisters, Pat Valenti of Arnold, Missouri, Donna Watson of
St. Louis, Missouri, Carol Hart and husband Glen of Anchorage, Alaska and
Judy Tauchen and husband Henry of Englewood, Colorado; and his fiancée’s
son, Jacob Bellew; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. until service
time at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers
officiating. Special music of “Live like You Were Dying” and “Only You Can
Love This Way” was played. Other music of “Go Rest High” was sang and played
by Rev. Jerry Beers.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Steelville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Ben Dulany, David Dulany, Zac Taylor, Trey Defato,
Jacob Bellew and Preston Cook.

Alice Juanita Huitt
Alice Juanita Huitt of Festus, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born
to Clarence and Estella (Ellis) McAtee on Tuesday, March 11, 1924 in Potosi,
Missouri and passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Jefferson Regional
Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri at the age of 85 years, 10 months
and 13 days.
Alice was a homemaker and a long time member of the Delhi Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother, avid genealogist and a hardy woman of pioneer
spirit whose favorite saying, especially during hardships, was “that’s life,
moving West.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Estella McAtee;
husband, William M. Huitt, Sr.; son, Michael Huitt; two brothers, Frank
and Elmer McAtee; two sisters, Beulah Miller and Mildred Martindale.
She is survived by eight children, William “Bill” and wife Doris Huitt of
Des Peres, Missouri, Dennis and wife Jane Huitt of Panama City, Florida,
Randy and wife Nancy Huitt of Jerseyville, Illinois, James and wife Viola
Huitt of Cuba, Missouri, Larry and wife Cindy Huitt of Willow Springs,
Missouri, Delecia Huitt of Festus, Missouri, Denise and husband Bill Jones
of Houston, Missouri and Kathleen “Katy” Mathews of Memphis, Tennessee;
step-daughter, June Huitt of Chicago, Illinois; 15 grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 5-8 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba.
Funeral service was Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.
Interment followed at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Kent Sanborn
M. Kent Sanborn of Rolla, Missouri was born on August 6, 1932 in Kansas
City, Missouri to Theodore Sanborn and Ida (Logue) Sanborn and passed away
on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the age of 77.
On April 29, 1989 he was united in marriage to Carol Pine.
Kent’s career included industrial engineering, Engineering Officer in the
Navy and a stint in the Navy Reserves. After a career in the corporate world,
he bought a charcoal business in Steelville, Missouri.
He pursued aviation as a teenager and bought three airplanes before he bought
a car. Kent’s adventures included aerobatics, scuba diving and traveling
with his wife Carol.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Sanborn of Rolla, Missouri; two sons,
Blake Sanborn and wife Donna of Bourbon, Missouri and Dirk Sanborn and
wife Jeanne of Mobile, Alabama; daughter, Dana D’Arcy of Rolla, Missouri;
stepson, Steve Tate and wife Lorrie of Plano, Texas; sister, Linda Spangler
and husband Robert of Ashville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren,
Brittany Sanborn, Brandon Sanborn, Lauren Byington, Kaylen Sanborn, Adam
Jones, Jason Tate, Jessica Tate and Tiffany Gear.
A memorial service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at
the Christ Episcopal Church in Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Dr. Aune Strom and
Rev. Deacon Susan Bartlett officiating.
Interment followed in the Christ Episcopal Church columbarium.
Arrangements under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla,
Missouri.
Clark H. Springer
Clark H. Springer of Bourbon, Missouri was born July 2, 1924 at what is
known as the Dowler Mill area, near Bourbon, Missouri and passed away
Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the age of 85 years.
Clark was a heavy equipment operator, but for the most part, he farmed and
raised livestock.
On November 25, 1950 he married Mary Kathryn Kimberlin and to this union a
daughter was born.
As a youngster Clark enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping along the
Meramec River.
He is survived by one daughter, Carol H. Springer of Bourbon, Missouri;
two brothers, Gene and Paul Springer, both of Bourbon, Missouri; one
grandson, Andrew Kimberlin Curtis; other relatives and friends.
Service were Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of the
Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri with David Harrison and J.C. Springer
officiating.
Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Francis D. Stubblefield
Francis D. “Frank” Stubblefield of DeSoto, Missouri was born
September 17, 1933 in Cuba, Missouri to James and Amelia (Smith)
Stubblefield and passed away at his home on January 14, 2010 at the age
of 76 years.
Francis was a self-employed contractor of Home Craft Improvement Company
and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading western books.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Lee; a son, Terry Stubblefield
and six sisters, Catherine Verplank, Irene Caldwell, Marjorie Purl, Cecilia
Stubblefield, Ruth Blackford and June Tiehes.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Carey), Gary (Bonnie), Thomas, Anthony
(Carey), Keith (Pam), Brett, Craig (Barb), and Brian, Christine (Jerry)
Chalcraft, Lisa (Don) Rohlfing and Traci Stubblefield; 23 grandchildren;
seven great grandchildren; sister, Genevieve McClinton; other relatives and
friends.
A memorial gathering was held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. with
a memorial mass at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, DeSoto,
Missouri with Fr. Alex Anderson officiating.

Nancy Carroll Wildeisen
Nancy Carroll Wildeisen of Sullivan, Missouri was born December 7, 1938 at
Spring Bluff, Missouri to Frank J. and Hazel Elizabeth (Trafford) Soetebier
and passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at the age of 71 years.
Nancy had been employed at the former Fashion Shoe Company, Meramec
Industries, Fiber Craft and Industrial Wire Products from which she
retired.
On October 22, 1954 she was married Clifford “Sonny” John Wildeisen, Jr.
and to this union two children were born.
Nancy spent 35 years teaching bowling to youngsters. She and Sonny are the
only couple in the Four Rivers Bowling Hall of Fame. Nancy loved the
outdoors and was fond of gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Soetebier; three
brothers, Henry Edward Soetebier in infancy, John Arthur Barnes and
Michael R. Soetebier.
She is survived by her husband, Sonny of the family home; one son, Clint
Wildesien of Sullivan, Missouri; one daughter, Karen Halbert and husband
Jack of Sullivan, Missouri; one brother, Joseph Soetebier and wife Virginia
of DeSoto, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ross, Jasmyn and Kaemyn Halbert;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from the Eaton
Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Eaton
Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Brian Dixon officiating.
Cremation was to follow.

Missouri.
