She grew up and attended school in Bourbon, Missouri and was in the graduating class of 1962. Carole married Jim Bandy, on July 27, 1984 in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Leasburg, Missouri since 1963. Carole was very involved with church activities, including vacation bible school and Sunday school. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Organization. Carole loved traveling around the country, gardening, flowers and hummingbirds and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Howard and Viola Elizabeth Richters; and an infant brother. She is survived by her husband, James W. On February 1, 1975 in Steelville, Missouri he married Shirley Scott. Richard graduated from Cherryville High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He later went to work at Chrysler in St. Louis, Missouri retiring from there after 30 years. Richard attended Center Ridge Pentecostal Church for several years. Throughout the many years, Richard enjoyed spending time on their land and working it to look like a park setting. Hammonds of Steelville, Missouri was born in Sligo, Missouri on Thursday, October 13, 1932 to Lawrence Alfonso and Anna June Schermesser Hammonds and passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 8 days. Joe graduated from Cherryville High School as a member of the Class of 1951. Right out of school, he joined the United States Air Force where he served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He married Delores Aleen Roberts on July 6, 1954. Joe and Delores lived in Texas until he was discharged and then moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he worked at McDonnell Douglas from 1954 to 1961. They then returned to Steelville, Missouri where he worked several jobs such as Steelville Manufacturing, for Warren Parrett and then at Earl Chevrolet as service manager for a while. He bought the old Standard Station in 1979, which they called Hammonds Service and closed it in 1992. Joe worked as maintenance at Steelville Schools for 10 years until he retired. He also served on the school board for many years. He was an active member of the Sligo United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #345. When Joe was younger he played sports in school and even later in life enjoyed bowling. Joe liked to eat steak and loved to go fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching RFD TV and listening to country music and riding four-wheelers around the farm with the kids. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Anna Hammonds; parents-in-law, Clarence and Gladys (Briggs) Roberts; brother, Jack Hammonds; and sister-in-law, Koradine (Tom) Rhinehart. Susan Jayne Howard Susan Jayne Howard of St. James, Missouri was born on June 12, 1962 in Rolla, Missouri to Gary and Buelah Laycock Scott and passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 16 days. She married Warren Preston Howard on July 5, 1991 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Susan worked as a substitute teacher at St. James Elementary School. She started with the State of Missouri in 1999 as a Correctional Officer I. In 2000 she promoted to Sargent. In 2005 she transferred to the Probation Division. In 2007 she was taken off work due to disability. Over the years she liked to garden, read books and she loved to dance. Susan loved to go fishing and being in the outdoors. She was a fighter and always wanted to help others wherever she could. She was proud of their two sons, Nathan and Jay, who are both Army Veterans. For years she had long black hair and a lot of people knew her by her long braided hair. She would always try to keep as smile on her face even on a bad day. Some of her co-workers would call her Zoom Zoom because she was always on the go. Warren always said she was his better half and best friend through good times and bad. She was preceded in death by her mother, Buelah Laycock Scott; and one brother, William H. Scott. Brian "Skoob" Andred Kelly Brian "Skoob" Andrew Kelly of Viburnum, Missouri was born March 13, 1962 in Oakland, California to Andrew and Bernadette Kelly and passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at the age of 56 years, 10 months and 5 days. Brian worked at Doe Run and Global Security for many years. The last several years he worked for The Mine Supply in Viburnum, Missouri as a pump mechanic and was the dispatcher for the Quad County Fire Department. He also was a volunteer fireman for the Quad County Fire Department since 1984. Brian enjoyed watching NASCAR and Sprint Cars. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. Brian had the opportunity to ride a car around Charlotte Motor Speedway. Brian enjoyed life and you could find him any weekend at a racetrack. He enjoyed helping out on Friday nights at Longhorn Raceway in Viburnum. Most people knew him as Skoob. Brian was such a kind, compassionate and giving person. He gave to many charities and even sponsored local race cars. Brian accepted Christ at a young age. He was a very independent person and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Umfress; brother-in-law, Jimmy Umfress; nephew, Chad Umfress; and great nephew, Eric Kelly. Dwight Lowry Lyle Dwight Lowry Lyle was born in Rolla, Missouri on September 2, 1943 to Marcus Lowry and Grace Virginia (Gabel) Lyle and passed away on January 20, 2019 at the age of 75 years. He married Brenda Sue Jones in April of 1968 at the First Church of God in Rolla, Missouri. Dwight served in the United States Army from 1964-1967 while stationed in Germany as a M35 motor transport operator. He retired from University of Missouri-Rolla, now Missouri S&T, after 30 years of service in the printing department. Dwight enjoyed gardening, fishing, attending local classic car cruises and dog sitting for anyone who would ask. He was a very supportive, caring individual who always made himself available to those in need and enjoyed helping others. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Scott Lyle (Heidi) of Rolla, Missouri; sister, Donna Lou Lyle of Kansas City, Missouri; his grand dogs, Pumpkin and Snickers; other relatives and friends. Jason Alan Martin Jason Alan Martin of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, February 26, 1984 at St. Louis, Missouri to Alan and Phyllis (nee Koch) Martin and passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 34 years. Jason was the manager for The Hitching Post in Bourbon, Missouri and he had worked there since 2013. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, riding his side by side, his cattle and just being outdoors. Jason was a member of the Sullivan Eagles and was becoming a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge No. 312 A.F. and A.M. Jason was the first president of the Bourbon High School FFA program. He spent hours teaching others how to take care of their animals and how to show them at the county fair and the state fair. He was always willing to help with the 4-H and FFA kids. Jason was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues. He spent hours at East Office, visiting with old friends. He also had a patent pending for Buck Tales, a deer feed supplement. Jason his dogs Stanley, Crown and Coke. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Koch. James A. "Jim" Mezo James A. "Jim" Mezo of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, October 10, 1936 at McLeansboro, Illinois to John W. and Geneva (nee Deitz) Mezo and passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Jim worked for Jewel Tea in St. Charles, Missouri for 30 years as a salesman. After retiring from sales, he went to work for Francis Howell School District as a custodian. In 1999 Jim married Ginny Moore and they moved to Cuba, Missouri. After moving to Cuba, Jim worked for the United States 2000 Census and for the last 18 years, Jim worked for the Crawford County R-II School District as a part-time custodian. Jim was an avid sports fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Jim attended many high school basketball games during his life-time and he coached baseball and basketball when his sons were young. He was the ping pong and washer champion and he spent hours working on his yard. He was a devout member of the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church and always attended every function there. Jim loved spending time with his dog Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Geneva Mezo; step son, Michael Scott Moore; and eight siblings, Bill and wife Carol Barker, Jean Necica, John Wilson Mezo, Mary and husband Lowell Martin, Ira B. Ina Mae Grace Ina Mae Grace Setzer (nee Laramore) of Dillard, Missouri was born April 27, 1935 in Courtois, Missouri to Ernest Ray and Ollie Lee Breakfield Laramore and passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 23 days. Ina Mae married William "Bill" Setzer in May of 1956 at Courtois, Missouri. She was a member of the Ozark Trail Blazers. She and her husband, Bill, participated in many western horse shows throughout Missouri. They would both ride and show their gaited fox trotter horses. Ina Mae loved to sing, play the guitar, work in her garden, paint beautiful pictures, crochet, sew and hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ollie Laramore; her husband, Bill Setzer; one granddaughter, Harmony Setzer; three brothers, Harold Laramore, Leland Laramore and Elvin (Hazel) Laramore; three brothers-in-law, Lloyd (Lisa) Setzer, Delbert (Rita) Setzer and Howard "Sammy" Setzer; and sisters-in-law, Judy Setzer and Beverly Setzer. Jerry Lindell Stricklin Jerry Lindell Stricklin was born October 2, 1950 in Bixby, Missouri to Lawrence and Rosie Chandler Stricklin and passed away January 6, 2019 at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 4 days. Jerry grew up in Bixby, Keysville and Steelville, Missouri. He lived in many places, including various cities in Missouri and California. In 1993 he moved to Edgar Springs, Missouri, where he remained until August of 2015, when he entered Cuba Manor. Jerry worked at various jobs, including mechanic, punch press operator, maintenance man and logger. He was a hard worker and often held down two or three jobs at one time. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Rosie Stricklin; three brothers, Eugene, Charlie, and Paul Stricklin; two sisters, Ruby Stricklin Garton and infant Verla Mae Stricklin; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Lynch and Roy Vriese. Kenneth Veraguth Kenneth Veraguth of St. James, Missouri was born on January 23, 1960 to Walter Gene and Cecelia Marie Colccha Veraguth and passed away on January 24, 2019 at the age of 59 years and 1 day. Kenneth worked at Town and Country Super Market in St. James, Missouri for over 20 years. He enjoyed his job and especially enjoyed seeing his friends that came in the store. He was a collector. He loved to collect guns and had a big collection of knifes that he had purchased through the years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia on March 17, 2016.
