Clifford G. Bishop
Clifford G. Bishop of Bourbon, Missouri was born on December 1, 1921 at
Anthonies Mill, Missouri to Isaac and Myrtle Isgrigs Bishop and passed
away Friday, February 1, 2013 at the age of 91 years.
He was employed by Standard Oil and later Granite City Steel.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1942-1945.
After serving in the military Clifford met Alice Laura Midyett and they
were united in marriage on January 30, 1946 in Granite City, Illinois.
Clifford and Alice purchased their first farm and raised hogs and cattle.
During this time he worked for Pea Ridge Mine and Meramec Mining Company.
Clifford was a member of the VFW Post of Potosi and First Baptist Church
of Bourbon, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Myrtle Bishop; one son,
Clifford Bishop Jr.; three brothers, Beauford, James and Elzie Bishop; a
sister in infancy and a granddaughter, Laura Trendle.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of the family home; two sons, Dale
Bishop of Chula, Missouri and Dean and wife Teresa Bishop of Bourbon,
Missouri; two daughters, Norma Jean Trendle and husband Vernon of Japan,
Missouri and Robin Voss and husband Jim of Japan, Missouri; 15 grand-
children; 14 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 4:30-8 p.m. at the
Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 from
the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri with Brother Jerry Bain
officiating.
Interment was in the Metcalf Cemetery at Anthonies Mill, Missouri.

Rosemary M. Blunt
Rosemary M. Blunt nee Jones of Steelville, Missouri was born in
Steelville, Missouri on Saturday, October 31, 1931 to James Shelby and
Mary Margaret Clymer Jones and passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013
at the age of 81 years and 3 months.
Rosemary married Wayne W. Blunt on June 27, 1958 in Steelville, Missouri.
She was a legal secretary for Woodward Law Firm for more than 53 years.
She helped start the Crawford County Title Co. in Steelville, Missouri,
which later moved to Cuba, Missouri. She was past Matron of Eastern Star,
Martha & Mary Chapter 364 of Steelville and past member of Rainbow girls.
She was the last living Eastern Star member who was a direct descendant
of a charter member of Eastern Star. Her hobbies were bowling and reading,
especially mystery novels. She was very fond of her nieces and nephews
who called her “Pony” - a nickname given to her by niece, Diane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Jones; grand-
parents, Roy & Jessie Clymer; niece, Leslie Pinnell and brother-in-law,
Leroy Pinnell.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne W. Blunt of Steelville, Missouri;
sister, Catherine “Kaky” Pinnell of Steelville, Missouri; nieces and
nephews, Bill (Carol) Pinnell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Steve (Ginny)
Pinnell of Columbia, South Carolina, Debbie (Jim) Mallinckrodt of Overland
Park, Kansas and Diane (Frank) Lannutti of Springfield, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Memorial service is Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Eastern
Star Service at 1:30 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri
with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri.
Esco Collier
Esco Ray Collier, Jr. was born in Davisville, Missouri on June 14, 1930 to
Esco and Leora (Wilkerson) Collier, Sr. and passed away at the Golden
Living Center in Glasgow, Missouri on January 26, 2013 at the age of 82
years.
Esco joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War.
He married Mary Prentzler at the Salem Lutheran Parsonage in Forest Green,
Missouri on December 10, 1977.
Esco worked at American Recreation Sleeping Bag Factory as a Maintenance
Supervisor for 39 years, retiring in 1992. He was a lifelong member of the
VFW and a member of American Legion Post 211 for over 60 years. His
favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esco Sr. and Leora Collier; one
brother, Garland Collier and one son, Michael Collier.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Glasgow, Missouri; one son, John
(Barbara) Collier of Burlington, Iowa; three daughters, Betty Mae (Steve)
Sapp of Columbia, Bonnie (Dale) Aholt of Glasgow, and Cheryl (Benny) Adams
of Chesapeake, Ohio; four sisters, Melba Martin of Davisville, Missouri,
Frances Warren of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Lee (John) Hull of St. Louis,
Missouri and Geraldine (Paul) Turnbough of Davisville, Missouri; 13
grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation at 10-11 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the
Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Glasgow, Missouri.
Memorial service was at 11 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Friemonth-
Freese Funeral Chapel in Glasgow, Missouri with Rev. Harold Young
officiating.
Burial with military honors was at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in
Jacksonville, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home
in Glasgow, Missouri.
Donald “Duke” Jimmie Enke
Donald “Duke”?Jimmie Enke, was born in Bem, Missouri on July 29, 1932 to
William Adam and Lydia (Pietraschke) Enke and passed away on Tuesday,
January 29, 2013 at his residence at the age of 80 years.
On May 3, 1954 in Clarksdale, Mississippi he was united in marriage to
Chirley Crider.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bem, Missouri and
the National Horseshoe Pitcher’s Assn.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Enke; sister, Beulah
Rutz; and sister-in-law, Katherine Enke.
He is survived by his wife, Chirley Enke; sons, Roger Enke of Owensville,
Missouri and Darren Enke of Linn, Missouri; brothers, Arthur Enke and wife
Irma of Owensville, Missouri, Armin Enke of Owensville, Missouri and Paul
Enke and wife Sharon of St. Peters, Missouri; sister, Mildred Treece and
husband Don of Cuba, Missouri; brother-in-law, Armin Rutz of Owensville,
Missouri; one grandson, Ryan Mahurin of Gerald, Missouri; other relatives
and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at
the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Pastor Rick
Oberle and Pastor Larry Harris officiating.
Burial was in the St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Bem,
Missouri.

James J. Maerli
James J. Maerli passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Maerli.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Maerli (nee Meyer);
children, Susan (Mark) Appelbaum, Sharon (Russell) Luedloff, Stephanie
(David) Brickey and Matthew (Kristen) Maerli; 11 grandchildren; mother,
Marie Maerli; brothers and sister, Paul (Patricia) Maerli, Veronica
(Bernard) Vollmer and William Maerli; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 3-8 p.m. at the Kutis
South County Chapel in Mehlville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Friday, February 1, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Kutis South
County Chapel and Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church.
Interment at the Resurrection Cemetery.

William “Bill” E. Nickles, Jr.
William “Bill” E. Nickles, Jr. of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday,
July 7, 1987 in Rolla, Missouri to William E. Sr. and Julie Ann Nash
Nickles and passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the age of
25 years, 6 months and 23 days.
He attended Steelville High School and worked in landscaping for Korte
Services Landscaping & Design, Boast Enterprises and Huffman’s Lawn &
Landscaping. He loved hunting, fishing and riding dirt bikes.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Nickles, Sr.; and
father, William E. Nickles, Sr.
He is survived by his grandmother who raised him, Barbara Nickles of
Steelville, Missouri; mother, Julie Ann Martino of Lebanon, Missouri;
stepmother, Eileen Nickles of Lincoln, Arkansas; sister, Ashley (Matthew)
Pepin of Fayetteville, North Carolina; half-sister, Emily Martino of Lake
of the Ozarks, Missouri; brothers, Jacob Nickles of Steelville, Missouri,
Justin Nickles and stepbrother Jordan Julios of Lincoln, Arkansas;
half-brother, Zachary Nash of Lebanon, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Ken
(Sonya) Nickles, Jr. and Lisa (Sam) Setzer, all of Steelville, Missouri
and Bridgette Inman (Tracy Wheeler) of Ozark, Missouri; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10 a.m.-noon and funeral
service at noon, February 2, 2013 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating.
Burial was at the Steelville Cemetery.

Geraldine Ann “Gerrie” Pellet
Geraldine Ann “Gerrie” Pellet of St. Louis, Missouri formerly of Cuba,
Misosuri was born to Lonnie and Evelyn (McBrayer) Going on October 17, 1928
in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Thursday January 24, 2013 at Delmar
Gardens South in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 84 years.
Gerrie and her late husband Glen owned and operated the Dutch Barn
Restaurant in Cuba for several years. She was a member of St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church of Cuba, Seminar Club and a former member of the Lemay-
Jefferson Barracks Lions Club.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, canning and was
a former Avon representative but most of all she truly enjoyed being mom
and grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Evelyn Going; husband,
Glen J. Pellet; four sons, Richard, David and Robert Christiansen and Paul
Pellet.
She is survived by her four children, Michael Christiansen, Carole and
husband Bill Renaud, Kathleen “Kathy” and husband Jim Berger, Pamela and
husband Steve Auer all of St. Louis, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 14 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at John L.
Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis,
Missouri 63129.
Funeral service was held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 2 p.m. at John L.
Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel with Bill Renaud, officiating.
Interment followed at Park Lawn Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Gladys Piscitelli
Gladys Piscitelli of Bourbon, Missouri was born at Rolla, Missouri on
December 29, 1923 to James and Louisa (Jackson) Adair and passed away at
her home on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the age of 89 years and 29 days.
She was raised in the Licking and Rolla, Missouri areas and later moved
to St. Louis, Missouri.
On March 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ralph Piscitelli and to
this union a daughter was born.
Gladys was a long-time employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as
a telephone operator. She retired from there after 20 years and moved to
Bourbon, Missouri.
Gladys enjoyed working in her flower garden, crocheting, and sewing. She
also spent many hours volunteering at the Bourbon Thrift Store and was
known as a good Christian lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louisa Adair; husband,
Ralph in 1982; grandson, Ralph Carmen; brother, Clyde Adair; and three
sisters, Opal Adams, Mary Hutschreider and Hazel Adair.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Ann Carmen of Bourbon, Missouri; one
brother, Leroy Adair and wife Jewel of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one sister,
Emma Tullock of Bourbon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Tom Carmen and wife
Robin and Angela Eaton and husband David; one great grandson, Thomas
Carmen; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4:30-8 p.m. at the
Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013
from
the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. David Gargus
officiating.
Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery.

Patricia Gail Shults
Patricia Gail (Summers) Shults was born October 29, 1956 in Rolla,
Missouri and passed away January 25, 2013 at her home in Salem,
Missouri.
On May 5, 2007, Patty was united in marriage to Steven L. Shults.
They had made their home in Salem where Patty had served as the
Executive Director of the Salem Chamber of Commerce and had also served
on the Dent County Health Center Board. She was a member of the Corinth
Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping, cooking, taking pictures and loved
her flowers. Patty’s greatest enjoyment though was being a mother and
playing with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth “Jiggs” Summers and
step father, Ellis Gray Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Steve of the home in Salem, Missouri;
mother, Betty (Summers) Gray of Salem, Missouri; children, Jay Medlock
and wife Stacy of Salem, Missouri, Amy Capps and husband Ben of Kansas
City, Missouri, Danielle Woods and husband Luke of Columbia, Missouri and
Michelle Dunlop of Springfield, Missouri; step daughter, Megan Shults of
Salem, Missouri; grandchildren, Sophia Capps and Audrey Woods; brothers,
Mike Summers and wife Joyce of Salem, Missouri and David Summers and wife
Nancy of Grain Valley, Missouri; step brother, Skip Gray and wife Gina
of Viburnum, Missouri; step sister, Sandra Behringer and friend, Larry
Hershbarger of Monett, Misosuri; mother and father-in-law, Dorlene and
Bill Shult of Salem, Missouri; sister-in-law, Shirley Hofstetter and
husband Mike of St. James, Missouri; brother-in-law, Scott Shults and

Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Wilson
Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Randy Wilmont officiating. Special music
was provided by Jarred Brown and Karen Brown.
Pallbearers were Jay Medock, Scott Shults, Earl Brown, Ben Capps,
Luke Woods and Mike Summers, Honorary pallbearers were David Summers and
Jordan Shults.
Interment was in the Dry Fork Cemetery.

Johnny Austin Volner
Johnny Austin Volner of Cuba, Missouri was born May 27, 1950 at Rosati,
Missouri to Austin and Daisy (nee Britton) Volner and passed away on
Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the age of 62 years.
Johnny was united in marriage to Pamela Casarotto on December 15, 1978
in Cuba and to this union two children were born.
Johnny was an over-the-road truck driver for many years and for the
last 15 years has been the owner/operator of Volner Trucking. He drove
many miles and many hours to support his family but he always enjoyed the
hours that he got to spend at home with them.
In his few spare minutes he enjoyed hunting, fishing and building
model airplanes, but after the grandchildren arrived all he wanted to do
was spend his time with them and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Daisy Volner; one
sister, Lois Jean Ottermann; and mother-in-law, Sharon Casarotto. He is
survived by his wife of 34 years, Pamela Volner of the home; two children,
Amanda Crow and Christopher Volner, both of Cuba, Missouri; four grand-
children, Hailee, Dylan, Paige and Macie; two brothers, Roger and wife
Jackie Volner of Cuba, Missouri and Donald and wife Diane Volner of
Sullivan, Missouri; two sisters, Betty and husband Darrell Harvey of Elmo,
Missouri and Debra Williams of Washington, Missouri; brother-in-law,
Herbert Ottermann; sisters-in-law, Pat and husband Ronnie Woodruff and
Linda and husband Ken Fowler; father-in-law, John Casarotto, all of Cuba,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the
Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the
Mizell Funeral Home with Brother Roger Taber officiating. Special music
was “When I Get to Where I’m Going” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain.”
Interment and prayers followed at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba,
Missouri.
