MO Local Obituaries for the Week of February 7, 2018 Mary Ruth Beard Mary Ruth Beard of St. James, Missouri was born to Robert and Elise Fugatt in Pickles Gap, Arkansas and passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 90 years. She was a light to all who knew her. Mary Ruth's passion was teaching and she always conveyed compassion and conviction when sharing her knowledge with all she met. She loved to travel and experience life and all who knew her were richer from their encounters. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Fugget; sisters, Foyemae Bane and DeEsta Breakbill. She is survived by her sisters, Eldene "Deaner" Duran, Bobbie Haddock and Betty "The Freddy" Thomas; two sons, Bill and Frank Beard; grandchildren, Daniel Beard, Matt Beard, Rebecca Harmon and Christina Beard; great grandchildren, Cheyenne Gregory, Joshua Beard, Landon Harmon, Anju Beard, Janie Harmon, Hunter Beard, Zack Beard, Alex Beard and Aristides Beard; other relatives and friends. A celebration of Mary Ruth's life will be held at Second Baptist Church at a date to be determined later. Richard "Rick" Laine Bullock Richard "Rick" Laine Bullock was born on November 6, 1952 to Johnny Bullock and Beatrice Carrigan and passed away on December 14, 2017 at the age of 65 years. Rick was a longtime resident of St. James, Missouri. Rick was a lover of the outdoors, whether he was mowing grass or spending time on the river, floating, camping or hanging out with friends, he was happy to be in God's creation. Rick loved music and could bend a good beat on the spoons or pluck the rhythm on the washtub. Rick worked for his father at Johnnies Bar for much of his adult life. He also spent time working as a handyman and finished out his working career working in the maintenance department at Missouri S&T. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Laine Gibson and husband Shannon of Evans, Colorado; two brothers, Russ Bullock and wife Tina of St. James, Missouri and Terry Bullock and wife Linda of St. James, Missouri; four grandchildren, Zach, Austin, Hannah and Colton Gibson; other relatives and friends. Stelma Crider Stelma Crider of St. James, Missouri was born on Floral, Arkansas on May 12, 1929 to Elmer Edward and Frances (Jones) Harper and passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 88 years. On December 4, 1949 Stelma married William H. Coleman. After William passed in 1976, Stelma married Charles Crider. They owned and operated Crider Welding in St. James. Stelma did all the bookwork, and also worked for the U.S. Forestry in Rolla, Missouri until she retired. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening both vegetables and beautiful flowers that took over her yard; Stelma worked in the gardens throughout the summer, canning and freezing the bounty of her labor to enjoy over the winter. Stelma was a member of the Presbyterian Church, but also enjoyed visitating the Vida Baptist Church in Vida, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Frances Harper; husbands, William Coleman and Charles Crider; daughter, Sharon Ellen Coleman; sisters, Myrtle Harper, and Robbie Lea Peters; and brothers, Edward Elmer Harper and James Thomas Harper. Brenda believed that life was a party and often was the life of the party. She loved swimming in the summertime with her grandkids, lake adventures, and spending time with her friends. Brenda enjoyed sewing and quilt making. She was a collector of all things frog related and antiques. Brenda was a caregiver in the health care industry.
