He was united in marriage to Glenda Fern Hagood on May 25, 1957 in Mississippi. He was a building trade person and did concrete work. He was preceded in death is his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Baker; and his wife, Glenda Baker on April 21, 2007. Billy Joe Black Billy Joe Black of Cherryville, Missouri was born in Black, Missouri on Tuesday, April 19, 1938 to Raymond and Gertie (Copeland) Black and passed away in Cherryville, Missouri on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 14 days. Billy accepted the Lord and was a member of Midland Assembly of God Church, Steelville, Missouri. He married Dean Turnbough on February 8, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union five children were born. Billy worked as a logger in the timber industry. He enjoyed auction sales, fishing, hunting, camping, and attending church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Gertie Black; parents-in-law, Cletus and Mildred Turnbough; brother, Bobby Dale Black; and grandson, Zane Holk. Brown of Sullivan, Missouri was born at Davisville, Missouri to Floyd and Irene (Bell) Collier and passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 27 days. Because her father was an Evangelist, she made her home in various parts of the country. She did live her teen years in the St. Louis area. On May 27, 1945 she was married to Noah Brown. Agnes was a sales clerk in the retail clothing industry for 15 years and from 1975 until 2000 was custodian at Grace Assembly of God in Florissant, Missouri. She was known as a wonderful cook and would make all of her childrens favorite desserts for Christmas. Agnes was also a skilled seamstress and would sew her daughters' dresses and clothes. While making her home in Florissant, Missouri, she was custodian of Grace Assembly of God and was President of Women's Ministries for numerous years. Agnes transferred her church membership to First Assembly of God in Sullivan, Missouri when she and her husband moved to Sullivan, Missouri to make their home. She is survived by one son, Stan Brown and wife Marilyn of Lithoplia, Ohio; two daughters, Sharron Dorf of Leasburg, Missouri and Janet Larrison and husband Joe of Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren, Michelle "Shelly" Davis, Jeanette Weppner, Tona Lewis, Dana Lamb, Jennifer Hawn and David Brown; nine great grandchildren, Bobby Bowen III, Luke Davis, Becca Weppner, Leslie Davis, Abby Weppner, Austin Lewis, Kyle Lewis, Isla Brown and Cooper Hawn; one great great grandchild, Hadlee-Jo Bowen; other relatives and friends. Richard John Buchka Richard John Buchka of Cuba, Missouri was born April 13, 1947 at Waynesville, Missouri to John Fred Louis and Wilma Ann (nee Nolting) Buchka and passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the age of 68 years. Richard proudly served four years in the United States Navy. After returning home, from the Navy, Richard went to work as a cook. He worked for the Wagon Wheel, Rolla Manor, The Outpost, The Bopper Cafˇ, Voss Truck Port and ended his cooking career at East Office. He retired in 2010. Richard was a long time member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of St. James, Missouri. He was an excellent cook and had a green thumb. He made many crafts and his Christmas ornaments were amazing. Every year his Christmas tree looked like the cover of Home and Gardens magazine. Richard was known for his cake decorating skills. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wilma Buchka; and half-brother, Louis Buchka. She was employed as an office manager in the health care field working in a doctor's office. She enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling and living life to the fullest. "Rob" Heberer II of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Mascoutah, Illinois, was born April 4, 1957 in St. Charles, Missouri and passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the age of 58 years. Rob graduated from Mascoutah High School (class of 1975) and received his Bachelor's Degree from Eastern IL University. He was a devout Christian and had studied at Eden Seminary. His professional career included joining the family business, Heberer Farm Equipment, after graduating from college. He was a salesman and owner with his brother Jim of the family business managing locations in Mascoutah, Waterloo, Jerseyville and Shipman, Illinois. He later joined Erb Equipment as a sales representative located in Cuba, Missouri where he worked for the last 15 years. He was a sitting elder for First Presbyterian Church, Rolla, Misssouri; formerly served on St. Paul UCC Consistory in Waterloo, Illinois; Board of Directors for the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED) in Mascoutah, Illinois; and former member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, Illinois. Rob had the gift of gab, he loved to joke around. He enjoyed a good euchre card game and evoked the tripod with his teammates when playing six-handed and the 360 slam dunk when setting his opponents. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Lillian (nee Wittlich) Heberer, and Clarence and Marion (nee Harrison) Bayles; brother-in-law, Dennis Graul; an aunt, Joni (Heberer) Riley; and an uncle, James Bayles. Karen Kay Highfill Karen Kay Highfill of Lead Hill, Arkansas formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born April 29, 1942 at Overland Park, Kansas to Harold and Lola (nee Dever) Nolte and passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the age of 73 years. Karen was married to Howard Scritchfield for 45 years. Howard passed away in 2003. On July 29, 2005 Karen was united in marriage to David O. Highfill at Branson, Missouri. Karen spent her life taking care of her family. She crocheted bed covers in the form of a flag and sold many of them. She spent hours sitting at the bay window and watching the lake, when she lived in Arkansas. Karen enjoyed bowling and dancing in her younger years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lola Nolte; husbands, Howard Scritchfield and David Highfill; one grandchild; half-brother, Barry Belcher; and son-in-law, Bob White. Betty Jo Pitts Betty Jo Pitts of Camdenton, Missouri, formerly of St. James, Missouri, was born on November 3, 1934 in Steel, Missouri to Towny Thomas and Ella Hill Curry and passed away on February 2, 2016 at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 30 days. She was united in marriage to Max Earl Pitts on October 18, 1952 in Holly, Michigan. Betty was a spot welder for the Teamsters for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Pitts on December 17, 2012; parents, Towny Thomas and Ella Hill; two brothers, Martin O'Dell and Arnold Curry; and two sisters, Jewell Frazier and Ann Berryman. She is survived by daughter, Rose Harber of Macks Creek, Missouri; one sister, Agnes Curry of Doniphan, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Terry Lee Sbabo Terry Lee Sbabo of St. James, Missouri was born on September 9, 1951 in Rolla, Missouri to Marion (Mike) and Jane (Micke) Sbabo and passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the age of 64 years. In 1969, he graduated from John F. Hodge High School, and shortly after he began his 44-year career as a phone lineman and cable splicer with United Telephone. He married Sharon Mitchell on October 22, 1977. As a founding member of Solid Rock Christian Church, Terry instilled the love of God in his children. In 1995, Terry moved their family to their current home on the lake. Terry loved it there, spending time cutting grass, gardening, hunting, raising ducks, chickens and even a few stray dogs. In 2011, he built a shop where he could store all of his farm "toys." Terry continued to work for the phone company through many name changes and in the summer of 2014 he finally retired from CenturyLink. He fulfilled all of his "honeydew" lists, with time to spare to help finish a house, haul gravel, grate the road, fix fences, and help out any family or friend who needed him. He took his grandchildren for endless Kubota and four-wheeler rides, fishing and boat rides. They'd come back soaking wet from splashing in the creek, eat some graham crackers and milk, and he'd tuck them in with a bedtime story. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Vernie Hartmann. Charles Carey Wilkinson Charles Carey Wilkinson of Rolla, Missouri was born on March 21, 1947 to Harvey Henry and Helen Lucille Rhoads Wilkinson and passed away on January 28, 2016 at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 7 days. Charles worked at S&T in the maintenance department in Rolla, Missouri for 37 years. Charles never owned a car or had a driver's license but he never missed a day of work. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals. He was a friendly outgoing person who never met a stranger. If you drove by his home and he was outside he always waved. Charles was the hub of the neighborhood. He had hundreds of video tapes and had movie night at his house. The neighbors would go to his house and exchange a tape for one that had not seen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Helen Wilkinson; one brother, Edward Wilkinson; and two sisters, Norma Fritze and Mary Helen Wise. He is survived by one brother, Bill Wilkinson of Longmont, Colorado; four sisters, Betty Berger of Eldon, Missouri, Edna Frey of Swansee, Illinois, Ruth Lockhart of Livingston, Illinois and Myrna Poss of Eldon, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
