William “Bill” Bisso Jr.
William “Bill” Bisso Jr. of St. James, Missouri was born to
William Bisso, Sr. and Julia Bisso of St. James, Missouri and passed away
on February 9, 2013 at his home at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 24 days.
Bill was united in marriage to Linda Robyn on January 3, 1968.
Bill was an active member of St. James Christian Church. He had a masters of
Science in Education from Southwest Baptist University. Also received a
Bachelor of Arts from University of Missouri in Rolla. He taught five years
in Linn, Missouri and Salem, Missouri school districts. He was a Blue Cross
and Blue Shield Agent for many years. His hobbies were studying history with
Tom Eldredge, being active in Civil War Re-enactment, Rendez-Vous and Native
American Pow Wows. His passion was planting various kinds of trees and
planting a small garden.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Bisso, brother and father,
William Bisso, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, William Bisso III of Anderson,
California and wife Renee and Joshua Bisso of St. James, Missouri; two
grandchildren, William Bisso IV and Edward Bisso; three brothers, Robert
Bisso and wife Brenda of St. Louis, Missouri, Kenneth Bisso and wife Flo of
St. Louis, Missouri and Thomas Bisso of St. James, Missouri; other relatives
and friends.
Memorial services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the
St. James Christian Church in St. James, Missouri with Alan Wynn officiating
with Cathy Wynn organist.

Harry E. Brown, Sr.
Harry E. Brown, Sr. of Steelville, Missouri was born on November 10, 1939
in Cherryville, Missouri to John Edward and Nellie Leatha Tallent Brown
and passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 73 years,
2 months and 30 days.
Harry married Linda Faye on November 28, 1961 in Steelville, Missouri and
to this union five children were born.
Harry was a logger in the lumber industry for many years. He enjoyed
gardening, deer and squirrel hunting, fishing and watching westerns on
television. He participated in horse pulling contests and had horses for
his kids to ride. He loved God and his church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Brown; brother,
Edward J. Brown; sister, Mabel (Arlis) Callahan; infant sister, Edna Brown;
brothers-in-law, Harold Helms, Everet Setzer and Dwight Martin.
He is survived by his former wife, Linda of Steelville, Missouri; children,
Linda G. (Joel) Ryan, Harry (Angela) Brown, Jr., Darmon J. Brown, Nellie F.
(Drew) Malin, all of Steelville, Missouri and Marsha K. (Matt) Brock of
Sullivan, Missouri; sisters, Mary Martin, Leatha Setzer of Cherryville,
Missouri, Linda Helms of Steelville, Missouri and Rena (Donald) Jackson of
Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Allen (Pat) Brown of Cherryville, Missouri;
brother-in-law, Terry Halbert of Steelville, Missouri; grandchildren, Lisa,
Bethany, Sonny, Brandon, Kimberly, Preston, Alexcis, Rhys and Olivia; great
grandchildren, Kaylen, Gavin, Madison, Lillian, Zoey, and Megan; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, February 11, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral service
on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Harrison Brown.
Burial was at the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri.

Gary Lee Bullock
Gary Lee Bullock of St. James, Missouri was born on May 30, 1948 to David
Sherman and Esther (Owens) Bullock and passed away at his home on Sunday,
February 10, 2013 at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 11 days.
He was united in marriage to Debbie Dillon on January 2, 1971 in St. James,
Missouri.
Gary attended Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He received
his Bachelor of Science degree from Rolla School of Mines in 1971. Gary
and Debbie lived in Illinois where he was employed as a civil engineer for
Peabody coal, Illinois E.P.A. and also Blankenship Engineering.
In 1976 Gary moved to St. James, Missouri and worked for Emmett Dillon in
clay mining. He later purchased that business and operated Dillon Clay
Mining until his retirement in December of 2012.
Gary was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in St. James. Gary
had the spiritual gift of administration and a desire to help people. He
helped found the St. James Caring Center and served on that board until 2012.
He helped organize and worked on mission trips to Belize, Kentucky, Arkansas
and Camp David of the Ozarks. He served on the bank board of Peoples Bank
of Cuba, Missouri and had also served on the board of St. James Golf Course.
He helped organize the building of the Recreation Center at Nelson Hart Park.
He loved to hunt, fish and golf, ride Harley Davidson and in recent years
like to do BowBoy shooting.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Sherman Bullock and
father-in-law, Emmett Dillon.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Debbie (Dillon) Bullock; one
daughter, Anne Dillon Crousore and husband Josiah of Columbia, Missouri;
one son, Fred Matthew Bullock and wife Amanda of Owensville, Missouri;
five grandchildren, Lucas, Audra, Archer, Colin, and Alexandria and
mother-in-law, Beda Dillon; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11 a.m.
at the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri with Pastor Jerry
Baumann officiating.
Burial was in the Dillon Cemetery in rural St. James, Missouri.

David “Doc” Haase
David “Doc” Haase of Sullivan, Missouri was born on May 15, 1946 to Arthur
Erwin Haase, Jr. and Gloria Eva (Cheatman) Haase and passed away at John
Cochran Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on
January 31, 2013 at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 16 days.
He honorably served his country with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and a Military
Policeman, attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. After his discharge, he was
employed at various jobs in the area with included the Pea Ridge Iron Ore
Plant, Emerson Electric Company and the Calloway Nuclear Power Plant.
David enjoyed drawing in his free time, was a Life Member of the NRA and
enjoyed muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Lynn (Walbrecht) Haase.
He is survived by a daughter, Jodie Johnson and husband Mike of Bourbon,
Missouri; two grandsons, Danny and Timmy Johnson; three brothers, Arthur,
Henry and Daniel Haase; a sister, Gloria Haase; other relatives and friends.
A time of gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday,
February 21, 2013 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri
concluding with full military honors.

James Eugene Lottes
James Eugene Lottes of St. James, Missouri passed away on Wednesday,
February 13, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda; five children, Nikki, Keith, Jimmy,
Craig and Renee; 14 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at
the VFW?Post 5608 in St. James.
David Brian McGrath
David Brian McGrath of Jefferson City, Missouri formerly of Bourbon,
Missouri was born on August 31, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan and passed away
suddenly Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Mary’s Health Center in
Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 56 years.
David was the business teacher at the New Bloomfield High School, New
Bloomfield, Missouri and formerly at the Bourbon High School in Bourbon,
Missouri.
David enjoyed swimming, fishing, bicycling, raising chickens and rabbits
and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen McGrath of Jefferson City, Missouri; two
guardian children, Nataleigh and Kaleb Herr of Jefferson City, Missouri;
father, Gary M. and wife Nellie McGrath of Leasburg, Missouri; mother Nancy
Thurston of Port Austin, Michigan; three children, Katy Kirklin of
Michigan, Kelli Henderson of Virginia and Keenan McGrath of Maryland; two
brothers, Timothy and Christopher McGrath, both of Port Austin, Michigan;
two sisters, Margaret Fields of Amarillo, Texas and Sandra Merrill of
Saginaw, Michigan; six grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the
Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the
Mizell Funeral Home.
As per his wishes, David will be cremated following the service.

Jennie Catherine Ortmann
Jennie Catherine Ortmann was born January 27, 1920 in Astoria Long Island,
New York to John and Josephine (Urbanik) Karwicki, and passed away on
February 2, 2013 in Salem, Missouri at the age of 93 years and 6 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Karwicki; her
husband, Heinz C. Ortmann; sisters, Tania Bruton and Viola Neff; brother,
Walter Karwicki; daughters, Liz Ortmann and Carol Ellerman Vance; grandson,
Jim Randall and a son-in-law, Jerry Randell.
She is survived by her son, Fred Ortmann of Jefferson, Oregon; daughters,
Mary Snyder of Salem, Missouri and Sandra Randell of Salem, Missouri; sister,
Genevieve Pipkin of Sanford, North Carolina; grandchildren, Phil Ortmann,
Kathy Watson and husband John, Karen Walberg and husband Steve, all of Salem,
Missouri, Chris Ellerman and Brian Ellerman both of Springfield, Missouri,
Karl Ellerman of La Mesa, California, Ed Randell and wife Wendy of Cuba,
Missouri; great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 10-10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013.
Graveside services were held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at
the Jadwin Cemetery in Jadwin, Missouri.

Charlotte Marie Pankey
Charlotte Marie Pankey of St. James, Missouri was born on December 4, 1938
in Little Blue, Missouri to Chester H. and Opal Marie (Singleton) Gandy
and passed away at the Golden Living Center on February 13, 2013 at the
age of 74 years, 2 months and 9 days.
Charlotte was united in marriage to David Franklin Pankey on March 19, 1956
in Phelps County, Missouri.
Preceding Charlotte Pankey in death was her husband, David Franklin Pankey
in 1993; father and mother, Chester H. and Opal Marie (Singleton) Gandy;
one daughter, Barbara Ann Pankey in 1957; one brother, Chester Lee Gandy
in 1972; two sisters, Joyce Glaine Hollingshead in 1984; and Mary Ellen
Hollingshead in 2010.
She is survived by two sons, David Lee Pankey (Beth) of Rolla, Missouri and
Donald Eugene Pankey (Barbara) of St. James, Missouri; two daughters, Joann
Light (James) of St. James, Missouri and Melissa Pankey (Ricky) of Rolla,
Missouri; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Jones
Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at
the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Leslie
Buckner officiating.
Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.
Pallbearers were John Warren, Brandon Pankey, Henry Vedenhoupt, Donald
Pankey, Mike Alexander and Chester Hollingshead.

Alice M. Sagehorn
Alice M. Sagehorn of Gerald, Missouri, passed away at Frene Valley Health
Care South in Owensville, Missouri on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the age
of 84 years.
She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Sagehorm and a daughter, Linda
Braumlett.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Sagehorn and wife Nellie of Gerald,
Missouri, Chris Sagehorm and wife Michelle of Oakland, California and
Steve Sagehorn and wife Monica of Cuba, Missouri, other relatives and
friends.
Alice was cremated.
No services were held.

William E. Seay of Salem, Missouri passed away January 29, 2013 at
St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 91 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Seay of Salem, Missouri; children,

Salem, Missouri, Anderson Seay of Salem, Missouri and William Camm Seay
and wife Sara of Steelville, Missouri; sisters, Virginia Covington and

Mary Jane Slade
Mary Jane Slade, nee Jines, of Davisville, Missouri was born December 8, 1934
in Sikeston, Missouri to Arley and Alta Smith Jines and passed away
Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 2 days.
On December 21, 1959 at Valley Mines, Missouri, Mary married John Michael
Slade.
She attended the Church of God Allenton in St. Louis County, Missouri and
later the Church of God in Union, Missouri. Mary and her husband gave of
their time as missionaries to the Indian reservations in Arizona and other
locations out West.
Mary was an avid reader, loved nature and being outdoors where she would
garden and grow beautiful flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arley and Alta Jines; four
brothers, Ira O’Benauer, Robert Jines, Richard Eugene Jines and Jerry
Clark Jines; three sisters, Virginia Arlene Morgan, Shirlene and Charlene
Jines; eight brothers-in-law, Hugh “Mac” McCoy, Fred Sawa, Stanley Burns,
Howard Brown and Robert Rhinehart; Larry Farrar, James Setzer and Homer
Slade; and three sisters-in-law, Joyce Slade, JoAnn Gahr and Betty Neely
and husband Don.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. John Slade of Davisville, Missouri;
two sons, John Michael Slade, Jr. and wife Rita of Union, Missouri and
Jeffrey Lynn Slade and wife Karen of Byhalia, Mississippi; one daughter,
Susan Michelle Higgins and husband Shannon of Republic, Missouri; seven
sisters, Georgina McCoy of Dade City, Florida, Pamela Sawa of Richmond,
Kentucky, Norma Burns of Festus, Missouri, Barbara Brown of Farmington,
Missouri, Peggy Wilkins and husband Charles of Lakeland, Florida, Sherilyn

one brother, Ronald Jines of Plant City, Florida; four brothers-in-law,

five sisters-in-law, Janet Farrar of High Ridge, Missouri, Janice Shrum and
husband Ronald of Sikeston, Missouri, Earlyne Seaver and husband Bill of
Fairfield, Connecticut, Jean Setzer of Cuba, Missouri and Bertha Slade of
Topanga, California; four grandchildren, Joshua and Timothy Slade,

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Brother Perry
Lewis officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace”, “Until Then” and a
medley of songs were sung by Bob and Carol Coleman with Shirley Brown
accompanying on piano. Memories of his mother were shared by Jeffrey
Slade.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Davisville Cemetery at
Davisville, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Kirk Rhinehart, Ronald “Bud” Jines, Shannon Higgins,
Joshua Slade, Charles Wilkins and Timothy Slade.

Lorena L. Way
Lorena L. “Lori” Way of Coal Valley, Illinois was born February 27, 1968
in Rock Island, Illinois to Melvin Dale and Sharon Wheeler Way and passed
away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
She was a wonderful cook, a kind and giving person and an avid St. Louis
Cardinal fan.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Margie Way and Lorene
Wheeler; aunt, Op Wheeler and uncles, Jerry Wheeler, John Way and Gary Way.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassidy; mother and step father, Sharon
and Del Turnbough of Owensville, Missouri; father and step mother, Dale and
June Way of Aledo, Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Sally Way
of Silvis, Illinois; half brother, Ron Way of Moline, Illinois; half
sister, Conniedale Peck of Ozark, Missouri; aunt and “other mother,”
Linda Sheppard of Coal Valley, Illinois; special friends, Jennifer Sandman
and Todd Geyssens; other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the Celebration of
Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center in Coal Valley,
Illinois with Pastor Tim Carr officiating.

Center in Coal Valley, Illinois.
Charles Kelly White, Sr.
Charles Kelly White, Sr. of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Steelville, Missouri
was born on Saturday, June 25, 1938 in Charleston, Missouri to Charley and
Beulah Hedge White and passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age
of 74 years, 7 months and 14 days.
Charles served his country honorably in the United States Navy from
1955-1957 as a 1st Class Petty Aviation Radio Man.
He married Georgina Guenther in April of 1991.
He was an over the road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed restoring
and showing classic cars. He was a member of the St. James VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Beulah White and
sister, Brenda White.
He is survived by his children, Charles (Judy) White, Jr., Pam (Steve)
Raymo of Arnold, Missouri, Phyllis (Sal) Talley of Alton, Illinois, and
Jennifer (Arnold) Byrd of St. James, Missouri; stepdaughters, April Hackie
of Howell, Michigan and Mary Foster of Hardin, Illinois; sisters, Beverly
Salzmann of Clarkridge, Missouri and Alda Gray of St. Charles, Missouri;
other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service was Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the
Liberty Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating
and full military honors.

Missouri.
