On September 4, 1949, in St. James, Carolyn was united in marriage to Wallace (Wally) Biles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Evelyn Abernathy; husband, Wallace on October 18, 1981; and one brother, Donnie Abernathy in 1979. She is survived by son, Tommy Biles of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughters, Becky Wyatt of Fenton, Missouri, Susie Stokes and husband Joe of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Sandra Kennedy and husband Lyle of Albuquerque, New Mexico; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Bonnie Jean Edgar Bonnie Jean Edgar of Springfield, Missouri, was born April 15, 1928 to Clarence and Arple Turner of Steelville, Missouri and passed February 18, 2013. She graduated from Steelville High School in 1946. Bonnie was united in marriage to Harold William Edgar on October 21, 1945. They lived in Sullivan, Missouri, where they raised six children together until Harold’s death in 1972. The Edgars’ were faithful members of Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri for many years. While continuing to raise her family, she earned her LPN in Rolla, Missouri, in 1974 before beginning her nursing career in Springfield, Missouri, with Dr. Robert Zahn, pediatrician; Orthopedic Associates, Mercy Medical Center; and Dr. Joseph Wammack, DDS. Bonnie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Springfield where she served in many capacities. From 1983-1985 she enjoyed her role as a “dorm mom” for Beasley Hall at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold William Edgar; parents, Clarence and Arple Turner; one sister, Bettye Jo Walker and one daughter, Donna Elizabeth DeLaittre. Greer of Cuba, Missouri was born November 15, 1960 at Joliet, Illinois to Joseph and Theresa (nee Navarro) Greer and passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Fenton, Missouri at the age of 52 years. Joseph was a resident of Stubblefield Care Center and an avid rock collector. He thought that they looked like diamonds and gold. He is survived by his mother, Theresa Nobles; three sisters, Christina Greer, Kathlyn Greer and Kim Peters; guardian, Franky Todd; other relatives and friends. Hancock of St. James, Missouri was born July 19, 1924 in Vichy, Missouri to Perry and Oma (Daniels) Gray and passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at her home. Irene was united in marriage to C.C. (Ted) Hancock on April 19, 1944 and to this union six children were born. Irene was an extremely hard worker. She worked at the Missouri Veterans Home for 33 years. Irene loved to sew, cook and garden. She always had such a wonderful big garden and proudly shared the bounty of her garden with her family, friends, and neighbors.  What Irene didn’t share was always canned and brought out in the cold winter months, nothing ever went to waste. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Oma Gray; her husband, C.C. (Ted) Hancock; brothers, Ed and Paul Gray; sisters, Ruby Wilson, Della Hill and three infant sisters. Curt was self-employed in metal fabrications and owned A & N Metals for many years. Curt loved to race cars with his brothers. He enjoyed playing drums and spending time with his family. Velma Leah Hutcheson Velma Leah Hutcheson of St. James, Missouri was born November 24, 1919 in Gardner Ford, Texas County, Missouri to Thomas and Dona (Coats) Potts and passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at the age of 93 years. At the time of her death, she was living at Parkside Manor in Rolla, Missouri. Velma Leah was raised in Texas County. She was united in marriage to Guy Floyd Hutcheson on July 3, 1940 and to this union three children were born. In 1954, Guy and Velma Leah moved to St. James, Missouri where they owned and operated Hutcheson Ford Sales. Velma Leah worked as a secretary in St. James, at Boys Town of Missouri and at the First Baptist Church, from which she retired. Family and church were most important to Velma Leah. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was an involved member and leader at First Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and served on many committees over the past 55 years. She enjoyed sports, golf and bridge; playing bridge past her 92nd birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her parents, Thomas and Dona Potts; three sisters, and an infant brother. In April of 1990 he married Georgiann Brown. who preceded him in death on August 19, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Juanita McGinnis; his wife, Georgiann on August 19, 2008; and one sister, Rose McGinnis. Celestie Marie Newton Celestie Marie Newton of Fowlerville, Michigan was born in Royal, Missouri on June 23, 1917 to August and Nora (Fuhring) Garver and passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Geer Adult Foster Care in Fowlerville, Michigan at the age of 95 years, seven months, and 22 days. She was united in marriage on January 6, 1940 in St. James, Missouri to Walton Newton. She was a homemaker in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walton Newton; her daughter, Estella Tennant; and three brothers, Leo, Delmar, and Leslie Garver. She is survived by her two sons, Walton “Sonny” Newton of Fowlerville, Michigan and Delmar Newton of Howell, Michigan; two brothers, Everett Garver and wife Ruth Ann of St. James, Missouri, August Garver and wife Norma of Rolla, Missouri; one sister, Bernice Drewel of Bland; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Rubenstein passed away February 19, 2013. He was a graduate of Washington University, earning a law degree in 1942. He served his country in WWII, achieving the rank of Capt. Staff Specialist in the Army. He was an entrepreneur, successful business executive and community leader who shared his wisdom, strength and kindness to all with grace and humility.
