William “Bill” Oliver Davis
William “Bill” Oliver Davis of Houston, Texas, formerly of Steelville,
Missouri was born on November 23, 1934 in Crawford County, Missouri to
Zelma Elizabeth Walker and James O. Davis and passed away in Houston,
Texas on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the age of 77 years and 3 months.
Bill served his country honorably in the United States Army following the
Korean War.
He then owned for several years and retired from his tree service business.
His hobbies were watching the Astros and Cardinals ball teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelma and James Davis; wife,
Imagene Davis; sisters, Martha Wright, Eunice Rogers and Rhonda Davis;
brothers Leslie, Curtis and Jim Davis.
He is survived by his children, Billie Jean (Tony) Monariti and Jackie
(Rodger) Perot, all of Houston, Texas, Tina Hershey of Dallas, Texas and
Paul (Amber) Davis of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Angela and
Tony Monariti, Crystal and Stephanie Jones, Billie Jean Tallent, Raymond
Hershey, Jr., Harley Jean, Haley, Austin and Jazyn Davis; six great
grandchildren, Jacob, Jeremiah, Joseph, Victoria, Jose and Johnny Ray
Jones; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at
Lakewood United Methodist Church, Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri
with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.
Burial at the Liberty Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri with full military
honors.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Edward W. Savage
Edward W. Savage of Rolla, Missouri was born November 16, 1942 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Edward J. and Eileen (Wittenber) Savage, and
passed away February 19, 2012 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 69 years.
Edward served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years before retiring.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Auxiliary Police in
St. James, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Savage and sister,
Connie Bartle.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Savage of Rolla, Missouri; daughters,
Christine Potter and husband Gary of Mooresville, Indiana and Jeanette
Goben and husband Jim of St. James, Missouri; son, Willie (Ed) Savage
and wife Andrea of Jefferson City, Missouri; mother, Eileen Edwards of
Springfield, Missouri; brothers, Leland Edwards and Randy Edwards;
sisters, Levella Smith of Kansas, Louise Skouby and husband Richard of
St. Robert, Missouri, Pat Kelly of California, Norma Smith and husband
Gary and Nita Driscoll of Republic, Missouri; grandchildren, Amanda and
Michael Potter, Matthew Schiffner, Blake Savage, Drew and Jacob DeShurley;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at
James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri.
Services were held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. at James & Gahr
Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Gary Bartle officiating with full
military honors.
Arrangements under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary of Rolla,
Missouri.
Mary V. Shultz
Mary V. Shultz of Bourbon, Missouri was born in Springfield, Ohio on
August 8, 1920 to David C. and Myrta A. Davis and passed away Thursday,
February 23, 2012 at the age of 91 years.
On November 9, 1940 she married Rodger S. Shultz and to this union three
children were born.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Wittenberg College (now
University), Springfield, Ohio in 1943, where she was a member of Beta Chi
Chapter of Delta Zeta. She taught Business Education subjects in
New Carlisle, Lawrenceville and Springfield High Schools.
She and Rodger moved to St. Louis in 1950.
Mary was employed for 42 years by the Mahlon B. Wallace family in
St. Louis as secretary and administrative manager. She was a member of
Executive Women International, serving as the St. Louis Chapter’s
President in 1981.
She sung in St. Mark’s Evangelical Church choir in St. Louis and
started a choir. When they moved to Bourbon she became a member of the
choir at Concordia Lutheran Church there.
At her death she was a member of the Concordia Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Bourbon, Missouri.
Mary enjoyed all aspects of gardening and country living. Some of her
happiest times were spent on the tractor mowing. She was proud of her
mementos obtained on their many trips abroad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodger; parents, David and
Myrta Davis; two half-brothers, Orville and Everett Rose; one grandson,
Don Boddie, II.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda K. Butler of Cornville, Arizona
and Pamela J. Hinds of Bourbon, Missouri; one son, David R. (Linda) of
San Diego, California; grandchilldren, Brad Hubbard (Cindy) of Flower
Mound, Texas, Anthony Boddie of New York City, New York, Brandon Schmidt
of Columbia, Missouri, Rebecca (Michael) Tuomey of Clearwater, Florida,
Megan Shultz Comfort of Columbia, Missouri, Brittany Shultz of Rockville,
Maryland, Mara Shultz of Largo, Florida and Mary (Jeff) Baker of Cary,
North Carolina; great grandchildren, William and Jonathan Tuomey of
Clearwater, Florida, Jacob and Joshua Hubbard of Flower Mound, Texas, Braden
and Austin Baker of Cary, North Carolina, Silas Schmidt of Columbia,
Missouri, Donae Boddie of Rosedale, New York, Roselyn Tuomey of Clearwater,
Florida and Kaelin Comfort of Minnesota; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was at the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, St. Louis,
Missouri on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 3-5 p.m.
Memorial service was held at Concordia Lutheran Church, Bourbon, Missouri
on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 6 p.m.
Private interment was held Monday, February 27, 2012 at Jefferson Barracks
National Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Schrader Funeral Home in
St. Louis, Missouri.
