Daniel Lee Adams
Daniel Lee Adams of Camden, Ohio, formerly of Cuba,
Missouri, was born November 8, 1987 to the union of Jim and Terri
Tyler and left from this life Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the age
of 18 years, 3 months and 13 days.
Daniel was a senior at Preble Shawnee High School in
Camden, Ohio. He attended elementary school at Cuba Elementary.
Daniel has fought cancer three times since he was 11
years old.
Daniel was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin and
friend to all who knew him and loved him and he will be deeply
missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Veda Adams
and other relatives.
Those who are left to mourn his passing are his parents,
Jim and Terri Tyler; two brothers Kevin and Keith Tyler;
grandparents, Ralph Adams, Sr., Johnny and Myrtle Tyler.
Aunts and uncles, Debbie and Gary Cate, Ralph Adams,
Jr., Tony and Pat Dixon, Gary Adams, Martin Adams, Michael and Julie
Adams, Brian Adams, Jackie and Melvin Makara, Carolyn and Donald
Bowolak, Barbara and Michael Zobrist, Debbie and Michael Evans and
Sandra and James Mendoza; special cousin of Melissa; and many other
cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, February 25, 2006 from 4-8
p.m. at the Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service
was held at 11 a.m. Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Britton Funeral
Home in Cuba, Missouri. Burial followed in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.
Addie Elizabeth Bobbitt
Addie Elizabeth Bobbitt (nee Stringer), 87, of St. James, Missouri,
died Saturday, February 19, 2006 at Phelps County
Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri.
She was born October 25, 1918 in Dillard, Missouri, the
daughter of Lee and Evelyn Louise Baker Stringer. On October 21,
1934 in Steelville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Fred F.
Bobbitt who died on February 26, 1984.
Addie was survived by her children, two sons, William
Bobbitt of Bourbon, Missouri and Jimmy Bobbitt of Columbia,
Missouri; three daughters, Joyce Phares and husband Lacy and Rita
Hunter and husband John, both of Salem, Missouri, and Mary Lou
LaPlant and husband Thomas of Steelville, Missouri.
Eighteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four
great great grandchildren; three half sisters, Virginia Hazelton of
New York state, Elsie Stein of Mexico, Missouri, and Norma Webber of
Cuba, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one son, Marion; four
brothers, Curtis Stringer, Alvie Reeves, Delbert Albert Stringer,
and Paul Reeves; one half sister, Katherine Davis, and two
grandchildren.
Addie was a member of Bible Baptist Church of St. James,
Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 21,
2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Dixon
officiating.
Serving as casket bearers were Drew Friede, Allen
Bobbitt, Chris Sweeney, Roger Stringer, Terry Reeves and Jerry
Reeves with committal prayers and burial in the Pleasant Hill
Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett-Funeral Home of Steelville.
Chad "Fish" Albert Bocardo
Chad "Fish" Albert Bocardo, 15, of Kennett, Missouri,
formerly of Cherryville died Friday, February 17, 2006 at St. John's
Mercy Hospital in St. Louis as a result of an auto accident. He was
born October 27, 1990 in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Steven Leslie
Volner and Lisa Bocardo.
Chad is survived by his mother and step father, Lisa and
John Schoen of Kennett, Missouri, his father Steven Volner of
Fenton, Missouri; one sister, Jessica Bocardo of Kennett, Missouri.
Two step sisters, Wendt Langdon of Ft. Campbell,
Kentucky and Mendy Stovall of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, Michael
Bocardo of Kennett, Missouri and step brother, Dillon English of
Steelville, Missouri.
Grandparents, Mabel Volner of Steelville, Missouri,
Nacho Bocardo of Mesa, Arizona, Diane Bocardo of Cherryville,
Missouri and Everett and Rosalie Schoen of Salem, Missouri.
Five aunts, Debbie Dabbs of Cherryville, Missouri,
Michelle Henry of Londell, Missouri, Mitzi Rogers of Minnesota,
Janet Kriger and Darlene Retkonwski, both of Hollywood, Florida.
Four uncles, Alvin White of Sullivan, Missouri, George Volner of
Steelville, Missouri, Marty Martin of Cuba, Missouri and a very
special uncle, John Volner of Bonne Terre, Missouri; cousins and
other family friends.
Chad was a student in the Kennett school system and was
a member of the Full Gospel Church in Kennett, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 21, 2006 in
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev.
Larry Martin officiating.
Special music was by Darla Brooks singing "When Eye's
Don't Cry" and a trio of Amy Brooks, Darla Brooks, and Frances Evans
with Daniel Evans as pianist, singing "Amazing Grace."
Serving as casket bearers were Justin Dabbs, Billy
Henry, Jessie Henry, Dillon English, Joel Ryan, and Travis Selle
with committal prayers and burial with closing music of Lynard
Skyard cd of "Write About it" and the Spanish song "Vava Con Diva"
in the Davisville Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville.
Millie S. Bogue
Millie S. Bogue of Cuba, Missouri was born August 20, 1938 at Brisco,
Missouri to the union of Anthony and Pearl (nee Coon) Kaufhold and
left from this life on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Cuba, Missouri
at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 5 days.
Millie was united in marriage to Leo R. Bogue, Jr. on
June 20, 1958 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Cuba, Missouri and to
this union three children were born: Barbara, David and Cathy.
Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister,
daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to all and
will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Millie worked as a floor lady at Cuba Shoe, Mid-American
Shoe and Whistle Shoe Co. She retired in 1988 after 25-plus years.
After she retired from the factory, she babysat at home, and was
loved for her peanut butter sandwiches and her home canned pears.
She liked to paint and do crafts. She displayed her
talents at many of the Cuba Arts and Crafts Festivals. Millie was
best known for her plants that she raised in her greenhouse, and for
the beautiful garden she planted every summer. She loved selling her
vegetables and visiting with all her customers. If it wasn't on the
table, she would pick it fresh for you.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents Anthony and
Pearl Kaufhold; two brothers, Fred and James Kaufhold and one
brother-in-law, Fred Matte; one sister-in-law, Mary Menz and a host
of other relatives.
Those who are left to mourn her passing are her loving
husband, Leo; one son, David Bogue (Gloria Alvarez) of Del Rio,
Texas; two daughters, Barbara and husband Denver Britton of Rolla,
Missouri and Cathy and husband Charles Schroyer of Cuba, Missouri.
Six grandchildren, Denver "Denny" Jr. and Samantha S.
Britton, Nathan Lee and Justin Ray Bogue and Ethan A. and Olivia E.
Schroyer, and one very special great grandchildren is on the way.
Four brothers: Anthony "Tony" Jr. and wife Jean Kaufhold
of Cuba, Missouri, Warren and wife Marge Kaufhold of St. Charles,
Missouri, Norman and wife Peg Kaufhold of Jerseyville, Illinois,
Bill and wife Martha Kaufhold of O'Fallon, Missouri.
Two sisters: Pearl Matte of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and
Anna Marie Kincade of Kansas City, Missouri; father-in-law, Leo K.
Bogue, Sr. of Cuba, Missouri; sister-in-law of Pat and husband
Charlie Waidmann, Sharon and husband John Casarotto, Shirley Click,
Bill and wife Wanda Bogue, all of Cuba, Missouri and Jerry and wife
Donna Bogue of St. Johns, Indiana; a host of cousins, nieces,
nephews and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, February 27 from 5 to 8 p.m.
with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri.
Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at
Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba with Father James Finder as the
celebrant.
Serving as pallbearers were Randy Waidmann, Denny
Britton Jr., Nathan Rogue, Ron Kincade, Jim Kaufhold, Jeff Bouse,
Ronnie Woodruff and Lonnie Halbert.
Burial followed in Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.
Patricia A. Gastineau
Patricia (Patsy) A. Gastineau, 66, died Thursday,
February 23, 2006 at the Heritage Park Skilled Care Center in Rolla,
Missouri. She was born March 27, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, the
daughter of the Joy D. and Eileen Fay (Sellers) Gastineau.
She is survived by aunts, Marie Cooley of Bridgeton,
Missouri and Melba Sellers of Waynesville, Missouri and five
cousins, Donald Cooley and wife Angie of St. Louis, Missouri, Ronald
Cooley of Potosi, Missouri, Sharon Cooley, Connie Sellers Sexton and
husband Larry of Waynesville-St. Robert, Missouri, Billie Sellers
Dalton and husband John of Parkville, Missouri and James Craig
Sellers and wife Cindy of Dixon, Missouri and other relatives and
family friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two uncles
Bill Sellers and Noah Cooley.
Funeral services for Patsy were held Sunday, February
26, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville with the
Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "How Great Thou Art"
was by Bob and Carol Coleman.
Honorary casket bearers were Ron and Don Cooley, Craig
Sellers, Larry Sexton, John Dalton, and Gilbert Sellers with "the
Lords Prayer" committal and burial in the Dillard Cemetery in
Dillard, Missouri.
All arrangements were by the Britton-Bennett Funeral
Home of Steelville.
Robert O. Lawrence II
Robert O. Lawrence II, age 52, a former Kansas City
resident, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at St. Mary's Health
Center.
Mr. Lawrence was born April 17, 1953, in St. Louis,
Missouri. He was the son of Robert O. and Betty June (Branson)
Lawrence.
He graduated from Normandy High School, Normandy,
Missouri and was employed as an accounts manager with the Headache
and Pain Center in Leawood, Kansas.
Robert was an improvisational comedian with Comedy City
in Kansas City from 1987 until 2004 and was also an actor with the
Little Theatre in Jefferson City, Missouri.
He was a tour guide with the Airline History Museum in
Kansas City, Missouri from 2002 until 2006.
He is survived by two sisters, Cheryl Curtner, and Adele
LoGaglio, both of Jefferson City, Missouri; three nephews, Charles
R. Curtner III, Clayton R. Curtner and Rashaun M. LoGaglio; one
niece, Jessica A. LoGaglio; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was conducted at 4:30 p.m. Friday,
February 10, 2006 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Melissa
Hatfield officiating.
Visitation was from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Freeman
Chapel.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the
Freeman Mortuary.
Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri,
Sunday, February 12 at 2 p.m.
Mercide Elizabeth Quinton
Mercide Elizabeth Quinton, beloved mother, entered
eternal rest Sunday February 19, 2006 at her daughter's home in
Nixa, Missouri at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 25 days. Mercide
was born April 25, 1922 in Crawford, Missouri, the daughter of the
late Charles Thomas Brown and Frances (Fanny) Ives Brown.
Mercide grew up in Cherryville, Missouri and on
Christmas Eve, December 24, 1941, at the home of Rev. Sam L. Roper
in Steelville, Missouri, Mercide was united in marriage to James
(Jim) V. Quinton, son of the late Jerry Vardelman Quinton and Ida
Mae (Treet) Quinton.
While Jim served in World War II, Mercide moved to St.
Louis, and later when Jim came home from the service, one daughter,
Joan, and one son, Richard, were born to this union.
Mercide and Jim made St. Louis their home, and in 1978
they bought a retirement home a few miles south of Steelville,
Missouri on Highway 19 where Mercide lived until she became ill in
December 2005.
Mercide and Jim were both raised in Cherryville, and in
their retirement years they loved to take drives and go out to eat,
and enjoy nature.
In addition to her parents, Mercide was preceded in
death by her husband Jim; two sisters, Edna Hutson and husband Santa
and Mabel Green and husband John; seven brothers, Walter Brown,
Willie Brown, Ed Brown, Harry Brown and wife Delpha, Howard Brown
and wife Virginia, Harold Brown, Harrison Brown and one son-in-law,
David Wayne Martin.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing is her
daughter, Joan Martin of Nixa, Missouri; her son Richard Quinton of
St. Peters, Missouri; one grandson, Richard Bryson of Park Hall,
Maryland; three great granddaughters, Daphene, Melanie and Kelly
Quinton of O'Fallon, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Helen Brown of St
Louis, Missouri and Nellie Brown of Cherryville, Missouri; nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, February 22, 2006
in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville with the Rev. Bob
Coleman officiating.
Special music of "Peace in the Valley," "How Great Thou
Art," "Amazing Grace" and a medley was provided by Bob and Carol
Coleman.
Serving as casket bearers were Terry and Jackie Brown,
Harold Green, Harrison and Dwight Brown and J.T. Ransom with
committal prayers and interment in the Martin Cemetery in
Cherryville, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett of Steelville.
