MO Local Obituaries for the Week of March 6, 2019 Raymond "Ray" Charles Confoey Raymond "Ray" Charles Confoey of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 7, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio to Clarence James Sr. and Laura Josephine Coleman Confoey and passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 20 days. Ray served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and after his discharge he hitchhiked all across America working various jobs. He made Cuba his home 10 years ago and worked in recycling metals. He was a member of the Cuba VFW Post #7147 and enjoyed playing Keno often at the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Josephine Confoey; brothers, Clarence Confoey Jr., William and Robert Confoey; and sisters, Alberta Jean Confoey and Nancy Confoey. He is survived by his special friends, Steven (Margaret) Henderson of Cuba, Missouri; brothers, George (Gwenneth) Confoey and Richard (Lorraine) Confoey of Berlin Center, Ohio; sisters, Patricia Wolfe of Berlin Center, Ohio and Kathleen Yeagley of Blairsville, Georgia; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Monday, March 4, 2019 from noon-2 p.m. and funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Paul Lee Glaese Paul Lee Glaese of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, February 6, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to Otto and Ivy Mae Wilson Glaese and passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 85 years and 24 days. Paul served his country honorably in the United States Army. He attended college and worked as a parts shipping clerk in the aerospace industry. He was a member of the Cuba Optimist Club, Lions Club, VFW Post #7147 and the Masonic Lodge #312. His hobbies were reading murder mystery books, working on puzzles, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals ball team. He also, enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto an Ivy Glaese; and brother, William Charles Glaese. Chelsey Rachelle Harmon Chelsey Rachelle Harmon of Steelville, Missouri was born in Rolla, Missouri on Wednesday, April 7, 1993 to Jeffrey Lynn VanBibber and Sharon Ruby Harmon and passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the age of 25 years, 10 months and 22 days. Chelsey was a lifelong resident of Crawford County. She attended Steelville Schools and accepted the Lord early in life. She worked several jobs after school such as DCAI, Casey's in Cuba and lastly at Country Mart in Steelville, Missouri. Chelsey had a contagious smile. She enjoyed camping, canoeing, kayaking and looking for arrowheads. She liked to hang out with her friends. She loved her dogs Doofy and Chaos. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Clifton Harmon and Eugene VanBibber; and her cousin, Shalanna "Sha" Harmon. Gladys Elizabeth Helton Gladys Elizabeth Helton, of Meta, Missouri was born on January 7, 1924 in Maries County to Thomas Fredrick "Fred" and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (Copeland) Renfrow and passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the age of 95 years, 1 month and 6 days. Gladys married Vernon Clay Helton on February 21, 1942 at Steelville, Missouri. She and her husband, Vernon, had accepted Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior, and they were baptized at the same time in the early 1940's by Bro. Earl Jones in the Little Tavern Creek. Gladys was a member of the Camp Ground Christian Church, VanCleve, where she had been the treasurer of the church for over 20 years, was a Sunday school teacher and was the first female to serve as a trustee of the church. She was a proud democrat and had served as the Maries County Democrat Committee Woman for Boone Township, was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, farming and haying with her husband on her Super C International/Harvester tractor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon on March 5, 2008; one granddaughter, Kelly Hill; her parents, Fred and Betty Renfrow; and two sisters, Olive Wilson (Leonard) and Leola Grant. Stella "Sue" King Stella "Sue" King of Leasburg, Missouri was born Friday, December 11, 1942 to Everett and Josephine (nee Brown) Woods and passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 76 years. Sue married James M. King on June 30, 1961 in Leasburg, Missouri. Sue was saved at a young age, she loved the Lord and was very active throughout the years at First Southern Baptist Church, Leasburg, Missouri teaching and leading the youth and women's classes. She enjoyed working inside as well as outside the home. When the weather was nice, she enjoyed being outside gardening, canning, cutting grass and planting flowers. In colder weather she enjoyed embroidering quilt blocks and doing word search puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Josephine Woods; two brothers, Walter and Bennie Woods; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Woods.
