In 1980 Peter graduated from Jefferson City High School. In November 1980 he married Vivian Cunningham (daughter of DH and Roberta Cunningham of Rolla, Missouri). After 30 years of employment Peter retired as an IT specialist from USGS in March 2019. Peter spent much of his time engaging in volunteer activities as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Peter enjoyed working with his hands in landscape, woodwork and building projects. He looked forward to the Bible's promise of a resurrection on paradise earth. Alfred Branchini Dati Alfred Branchini Dati of Sullivan, Missouri was born on January 3, 1922 in Iron River, Michigan (Mineral Hills) to Medoro and Velelma Dati and passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the age of 98 years. He attended Iron River High in Iron River, Michigan, where after high school he joined the Civilian Conservation Core (CCCs) to which he expressed he thoroughly enjoyed. Alfred married Betty Jane Taetsch in 1941. On April 7, 1942 he was drafted into the United States Navy's "Amphibious" Group during the Second World War and was honorably discharged from service in 1945. Alfred spent most of his life as a miner in Iron River, Michigan until he moved to Missouri in 1964 where he continued his mining career at Meramec Mine until it closed. In 1977 he relocated his family to Tooele, Utah, to take a job with Anaconda Mining Co., retiring in 1983. He was a man of many talents. His yard was always the best in the neighborhood and his gardens always flourished with vegetables. He was an expert carpenter and helped his sons and daughter build their homes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dati; his parents, Medro and Velelma (Branchini) Dati; one granddaughter, Julie Dati; one brother, Vedio Dati; and four sisters, Roberta Ivey, Eva Scalcucci, Genena Anderson and Asfalda Kososki. Arlin "Gus" William Head ead Head Arlin "Gus" William Head of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday, August 24, 1937 in Fredericktown, Missouri to William Obie and Nellie Sheppard Head and passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 7 days. On August 29, 1970 Gus married Tessie Jane (Midyett) Volner. Gus loved kids and loved to take them camping on the river. He always took six of Tessie's nieces and nephews camping. They loved to swim and float the Huzzah. Gus worked for Brown Shoe Company for a few years and later became a police officer in Steelville, Missouri and then Bourbon, Missouri. He worked at Circle C Ranch and then Roaring Springs in St. Clair, Missouri where he was a groundskeeper and raised Black Angus cattle. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer in St. Louis, Missouri for many years. He liked riding four wheelers. Gus enjoyed his routine of going to the coffee shop, then to Golden Echoes to play pool and then shining his truck. In the fall of 1974, Gus and Tessie gave their hearts to Jesus at the First Assembly of God Church with Brother Massey. He watched Jimmy Swaggart on Sunday mornings. Gale Lee "Bubby" Kramer Gale Lee "Bubby" Kramer of Sullivan, Missouri was born April 18, 1943 in Sullivan, Missouri to Max and Anna (Brewer) Kramer and passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at the age of 76 years. After his school years in Sullivan, Missouri he entered the US Navy, a lifelong dream, to serve his country. While in the Navy, Bubby served during the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bubby worked for the Chrysler Corp. and then Peterson Oil Company before his retirement. Bubby married Judy Marks Nanninga on October 23, 2004 in Sullivan, Missouri. In his spare time he liked hunting, fishing, spending time with his pets and visiting with his many friends and family. Bubby loved Sappington Bridge where he enjoyed sitting and watching the river. He also enjoyed BBQing and was a master griller. Bubby also had a strong passion for gardening and growing flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Anna Kramer. George was a loving kind soul who loved to serve his Lord and Savior. He was a prayer warrior for many people. He loved to travel and see different places. Fishing was done on trips or even at home. He loved being outside gardening or checking on his chickens he raised. He was a mentor to some by his love for people. George worked for over 30 years for the Salem Water & Sewer Department. "Bob" Mullen of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, March 24, 1952 at Rolla, Missouri to Lawrence and Ella Mae (nee McKee) Mullen and passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 67 years. Bob, as he was known by, spent his entire life in Cuba, Missouri. He was a 1970 graduate of the Cuba High School. Bob started his working career at a very young age. His mom purchased him a new lawn mower and Bob began taking care of everyone's yard. When he was 16, Bob had saved enough money to buy his own car. Bob bought and paid cash for a brand new Mustang. Bob's love of cars continued throughout his life. After the grass mowing business, Bob worked for Ray Hall, then Freddy's Drive Inn, The Drug Store, Art's Auto Sales and for 10 years Bob owned and operated a canoe rental on Thurman Lake Road, Cuba. In 1980 Bob started ABC Investments. For the last 40 years, Bob has sold cars, furniture, lawn mowers, generators, straw, burn barrels, household items and much more. Bob was always looking to make a deal, but he also would help anyone who asked. Bob married Darlene Epperson on May 21, 1994 at the Cuba Christian Church in Cuba, Missouri. After collecting cookie jars, gas pumps, signs, neon signs, old Cuba memorabilia and Route 66 memorabilia, Bob started Bob's Gasoline Alley. Bob's Gasoline Alley has been featured in several magazines around the state and across this great nation. They have hosted funerals, weddings, receptions, family gatherings, car clubs, Route 66 clubs and people from all over the world. Bob and Darlene enjoyed day trips looking for antiques and new treasures. They enjoyed eating out, working together, vacations and just being together. Bob was a member of the Cuba Lions Club, Cuba Freewill Baptist Church, Route 66 Association and Cuba Lodge #312 A.F. & A.M. To know Bob was to know that he always had a story to tell, lots of one-liners. He could always make everyone laugh and he had good and bad jokes. Boone was raised in Steelville, Missouri where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1968 and then joined the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably. He married Deborah Lorraine Argent in Steelville, Missouri. He later worked at US Steel for a number of years. Boone enjoyed the outdoors and being on the river, whether it was fishing, floating or just sitting watching the water go by. He loved motorcycles, cars and guns. He liked to watch westerns, listen to country music and loved his dogs. Helen loved spending time with her family and helping out others. John Evan Shasteen John Evan Shasteen of St. James, Missouri was born on March 10, 1957 in Peroria, Illinois to Cecil and Carol Myrtle Shasteen and passed away on March 2, 2020 at the age of 62 years. He was born with Danny Walker Syndrome. He was a gentle person who loved everyone. Most of his friends in his later life were the people of the St. James Living Center where he loved to play bingo. Sometime Johnny would even help the caller announce the numbers. Johnny had many struggles in his life but he always tried to make the best of it. One of his greatest love was for his sister Beverly Riley, who he adored. He had a large portrait of Elvis above his bed to let visitors know he cared for Elvis. Next on his list of favorites included his love for Big Bird and Teletubbies. Not only did TV characters bring him comfort but he also loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Football Giants and he could get pretty loud showing his appreciation for them. Most importantly Johnny in his own way knew Jesus and was never afraid of death and knew he would go home with him someday. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Myrtle Shasteen; brothers, David Shasteen on December 27, 2019 and Darrell Shasteen on July 30, 2017; and niece, Bonnie Riley on April 7, 2012.
