Ayers of Bourbon, Missouri was born on April 3, 1950 at St. Louis, Missouri to John Dewey and Bonnie (Wells) Ayers and passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the age of 62 years. She was raised in the St. Louis area for a time until moving to the Gerald, Missouri area. She was employed as a welder with Gerald Industries until ill health caused her early retirement.  She then moved to Bourbon, Missouri to make her home. Phyllis was known as a happy-go-lucky person who enjoyed yards sales and decorating for the holidays. She is survived by three sons, Steve Reed and wife Tonya of Bourbon, Missouri, John Reed and wife Sarah of Union, Missouri and Richard Ayers of Bourbon, Missouri; one daughter, Candy Usher and fiancé James Novak of Bland, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; other relatives and friends. It was the desire of Phyllis that she be cremated. A family memorial service is planned for a future date. Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. Diane B. Hancock Diane B. Hancock of Rolla, Missouri was born in Franklin, Virginia on February 16, 1944 to Spurgeon Clay and Elsie Lee (Bailey) Beale and passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 69 years. On August 29, 1960 she married Robert Hancock and they were blessed with two daughters. Diane was the first FAA certified airplane mechanic in Missouri. Later in life she owned and operated D’s Fabric Shop in St. James. She was a member of the Believer’s Praise Center in rural Rolla, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon and Elsie Beale; and one brother, Paulette Beale. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hancock, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Elrod, of Rolla, and Angie Stevens and husband Brian, of Rolla; one granddaughter, Sarah Elrod; a sister, Peggy Carr, of Windsor, Virginia; one brother, Ronald Beale, of Franklin, Virginia; other relatives and friends. A visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri. Paul Edward Kuhn Jr. Paul Edward Kuhn Jr. of Bourbon, Missouri was born on February 1, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Paul and Elizabeth Dixon Kuhn Sr. and passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at the age of 77 years. He and Betzy Schul were married January 24, 1959 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Sullivan, Missouri. Paul grew up in Greenhills, Ohio. He served in the United States Army and worked for a time for GE but the farm and associated businesses were his life’s work. After marrying Betzy, Paul became the manager of the Trail- Otel Senior Mobile Home Park. In addition to the mobile home park he also owned and managed Iron Horse Stables on the family farm. Upon retiring in 2004, he and wife Betzy moved to Missouri to be with their daughter Krista settling in the Bourbon, Missouri area. During retirement, he and Betzy traveled extensively hitting the Disney Parks and spending time in both Alaska and Hawaii. Paul never met a stranger. Thus he loved meeting new people, talking and learning about them. The Sullivan area was just perfect for him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Elizabeth Kuhn Sr. and a sister, Jeannine Jennings. He is survived by his wife, Betzy of the home; son, Kirk Kuhn and wife Denise of Springfield, Kentucky; daughter, Krista Kuhn of Bourbon, Missouri; brother, James Kuhn of Fairfield, Ohio; two sisters, Nancy Rakel of Killeen, Texas and Judy Walker of Batavia, Ohio; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Sullivan, Missouri on March 30, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Zachary Sturm officiating. Randy Warren Lamberth Randy Warren Lamberth of St. James, Missouri was born on September 5, 1956 in Rolla, Missouri to Ronald Warren and Margaret (Brydon) Lamberth and passed away suddenly on March 13, 2013 at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 8 days. Randy proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Mechanic. Randy was an over the road truck driver and always owned his own truck. He loved his cattle and left this life doing what he loved doing the most, working on his farm. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (Brydon) Lamberth; one grandson, Owen Lamberth, and grandparents, Floice and Seva Lamberth and Arthur and Lily Brydon. Mullen of Cuba, Missouri was born January 13, 1922 to James Riley and Effie Mae (nee Purvines) Mullen and passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Paul proudly served in the United States Army from November 27, 1942 till September 26, 1945. He served overseas for two years five months and one day. He was awarded six Bronze Stars for campaigns in Sicily, Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was also award a Purple Heart on April 6, 1945. After the service Paul was a cement finisher for many years at the Mullen Contracting Company in St. Louis, Missouri. After Paul retired he stayed at the farm and did his own doctoring of the cattle and he took care of any stray animal that came to visit and they always stayed. He enjoyed sitting under the oak tree and watching the cars go by was his favorite pastime. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Effie Mullen; six brothers, Charles and wife Marie Mullen, Ancel C. and wife Ruth Mullen, James K. “JK” or “Ken” and wife Virginia Mullen, William J. “Joe” and wife Virginia Mullen, Alfred F. and wife Theresa Mullen and Glenn Mullen; two sisters, Mary Hannah and husband Harry Karberg and Edith A. “Edie” and husband John Jennings.    He is survived by his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, cousins and friends. Iris Darlene Shane Iris Darlene Shane of Cuba, Missouri was born to Clyde and Lucille (Schumer) Taylor on Sunday, December 21, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri at the age of 65 years. Iris was united in marriage to James Shane on September 15, 1966 and together they shared 46 years of marriage. Iris was a 40-plus year employee and current Manager of Roberts-Judson Lumber Company in Cuba, Missouri. She was the go to lady that everyone turned to when they needed something. In her spare time away from work she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Taylor; one sister, Elaine Sexton; one step-brother, Peter Sego. She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Shane of Cuba, Missouri; mother, Lucille and husband Robert Sego; one sister, Gail and husband Bob Engemann of Washington, Missouri; one brother, Bradley Taylor of Cuba, Missouri; one step-sister, Christina Sego of Sullivan, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Janice and husband Harold Hodges of Sparta, Missouri, Sharon Olson of State of Oregon; other relatives and friends. Richard Lee Stone Richard Lee Stone was born on December 8, 1953, in Washington, Missouri to Russell and Lorene Branson Stone and passed away March 10, 2013, in Rosebud, Missouri at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 2 days. Richard served in the United States Navy. He worked for Missouri Farm Bureau as a claims investigator. On June 5, 1982, Richard was married to Mary Ann Burch at the Methodist Church in Red Bird, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Lorene Stone; brother, Steve Stone, and brother-in-law, Ed Cook. Zora Rilla Tomlinson Zora Rilla Tomlinson nee Halliburton of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Camden, Arkansas, was born on Wednesday, May 19, 1909 in Blue Ridge, Texas to George Washington and Fannie Mariam Boren Halliburton and passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the age of 103 years, 9 months and 15 days. Zora married George Carl Tomlinson in Leonard, Texas on August 29, 1925 and to this union four children were born. Zora lived in Texas 15 years and Colorado 14 years before moving to Missouri. She worked many years as a store clerk for Zales Jewelry Corp. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, S. Camden, Arkansas. Her hobbies were quilting, canning and gardening. She was very active and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fannie Halliburton; husband, George Carl Tomlinson; brothers, James Halliburton and Connie ‘Doc’ Halliburton; sisters, Ethel Brawley and Cecil Smith; son, George Neal (Jewel) Tomlinson and daughter, Robbie Nell Payne. She is survived by her sons, Freddie (Marie) Tomlinson, Sr. of Steelville, Missouri and Arlen (Cindy) Tomlinson of Valerico, Florida; eight grand- children; 18 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
