Rose was married to Kester "Shorty" Hooper. Rose was employed in St. Louis, Missouri for a number of years at Ford Motor Company as a cook. She enjoyed crocheting and was musically talented. She played the dog-bass guitar and spent some time at Silver Dollar City playing music with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Lockhart; her husband, Shorty Hooper; one step-daughter, Linda Hooper; one brother, Russell Knepler; and one sister, Billie Jean Williams. James worked several years ago in maintenance at Cedar Grof Nursing Home, Valley Park, Missouri while he was in good health. He enjoyed playing drums and at one time he played in a band. Michael Joseph "Mac" McEnnis Jr. Michael Joseph "Mac" McEnnis Jr. of Vienna, formerly of Eureka, Missouri, and Fort Myers, Florida was born on May 13, 1921 at St. Louis, Missouri to Michael Joseph Sr. and Emma (Schelling) McEnnis and passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the age of 97 years, 9 months, and 2 days. Mac first married in 1947 at St. Louis, Missouri to Jeanette Hartman and to this union two children were born. He was later married in 1970 at Fort Myers, Florida Emmalee McEnnis of New York. On May 15, 1942 Mac entered into active federal service in the United States Marine Corps and served with the Marines until January 8, 1944. Following his career with the Marine Corps he served in the Missouri National Guard from January 6, 1948 until April 4, 1949. Mac once again entered active federal service in the United States Air Force on May 16, 1949 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri and served until December 10, 1952 when he was honorably discharged at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mac attended school in St. Louis, Missouri and following his high school graduation he studied at the School of Mines and Metallurgy, Rolla, Missouri. Mac was baptized into the Catholic Church and his family had attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eureka, while living there. He had been employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in St. Louis before moving to Florida. While living in Fort Myers, Florida Mac was active in the American Legion and the Elks Lodge where he was elected Exaulted Ruler of the Lodge. He was employed in Florida by Fidelity Communications Company and CenturyLink for a total of 35 years in phone work prior to his retirement and moving back to St. James, Missouri in 2007. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette; second wife, Emmalee; father, Michael Sr.; mother, Emma; sister, Emma Marie Karcher; daughter-in-law, Sandy; and grandson, Greg. He married Ann Koerber in 1957 in Brinktown, Missouri. He attended school in Vienna, Missouri and served our country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany in 1958-1960. Arnold graduated from the Highway Patrol Academy and worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol from May of 1953 until his retirement in September 1990. He was a man of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He attended many bluegrass festivals. James proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 26 Feb 1951 until 25 Feb 1954. He earned the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars. James worked as a carpenter at Mehaffey Burmeister Construction Company for 25 years and later as a Project Manager for RCD Holdings Company. He attended both St. Paul's Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church over the years. He enjoyed ranching and taking care of his cattle and he had a passion for showing and racing horses. What he loved most was spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Nora Petty; wife, Marcella R. Joy married Chester A. Rogers on February 28, 1953 at Hernando, Mississippi. Joy spent her life taking care of her family and others. She worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant at the Nursing Home in Owensville, Missouri before she became the owner and operator of Country Aire Retreat in Cuba, Missouri for nine years. She had been a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba, Missouri and for the last few years she had been attending the Christian Life Center in Rolla, Missouri with her son Mark. She enjoyed church work, mission traveling and sharing the word of the Lord. Joy and Chester traveled to Texas every winter for many years and she enjoyed traveling with her friends for two weeks every year. As a young girl Linda and her family lived in various places, before coming to Sullivan. Linda married Richard Slankard on June 28, 1967. As a family they had to make several moves due to the demands of Richards job, but they finally settled in Sullivan, Missouri in 1981. Linda drove a school bus for many years, worked at Meramec Caverns in Stanton, Missouri and was employed as a clerk at Washington Metal Fabricators. She retired in 2006. Linda enjoyed collecting beanie babies, she loved bingo and also liked to play Dominos and Scrabble. She loved her dogs, Phoebe, Birdy and Boo. Linda also enjoyed floating down the river. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Slankard; her parents, Vernon and Monica Spoon; one brother, Vernon Spoon; and one sister, Barbara White. On September 1, 2007, Diane married Wayne Strothkamp. She enjoyed cooking and canning the goods from her garden, deer hunting, fishing, and traveling with her family and friends. For Diane, the highlight of spring was going mushroom hunting. Franklin was married to Joan Burton for 16 years before divorcing in 1971. She preceded him in death in 2003. On June 16, 1973 he married Donna Loyd in Union, Missouri. Franklin was a self- employed logger and truck driver for many years. He owned a saw mill and made cedar lawn furniture. He loved fishing, picking walnuts, blackberries and sassafras to make tea. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Thurmond; one sister, Helen Thurmond Haight; one daughter-in-law, Mary Thurmond; two sons-in-law, Joe McKinnon and David Flagg Sr.; and one brother-in-law, Richard Haight. On June 5, 1998 in Belle, Missouri he married Lisa Johnson. Stephan attended public schools in Belle, Missouri. He worked as a carpenter for many years in the St. Louis, Belle and Bland areas and loved his job. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manford and Nadine White; one daughter, Megan Johnson; one brother, Terry White; and brother-in-law, Calvin Steinbeck. Jacquelyn Jean Wynn Jacquelyn Jean Wynn of St. James, Missouri was born on December 13, 1931 to Horace Henry and Parilee Borders Wilson and passed away on March 14, 2019 at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 1 day. She married Lowell Wynn on December 11, 1954 in the St. James Christian Church. Jackie was an accomplished artist. She arranged silk flowers for bridal parties and other events and for home decor. She liked to travel and work on family genealogy. She and her husband dedicated themselves to their church - contributing their time and talents. She arranged the flowers in the church sanctuary for over 35 years and painted the large mural in the baptistery. She volunteered at the Golden Age Center and was a member of the St. James Golf Club. She retired from the USGS Administrative Services Office after 30 years of service (1957-1987). She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Wynn on January 7, 2017; sister, Joylene Wheeler; and brothers-in-law, George J. Wynn Jr. and Ralph Wheeler.
