She was a lifelong resident of the Leasburg/Bourbon, Missouri area. April 22, 2016. Evelyn was employed at Paramount Cap Factory for 13 years and then as a cook for Bourbon Elementary School. She enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Adams; parents, Floyd and Anna West; one brother in infancy; son-in-law, Roger Talbot; one brother, Walter West and his wife, Eleanor; two sisters, Virginia Ransom and her husband, Richard and Nadine Byrd Waisner and her first and second husband, Clyde Byrd and Roland Waisner; and parents-in-law, Richard and Lenora Adams and Ross and Nellie Bacon. Charles Henry Backman Charles Henry Backman of Jefferson City, Missouri was born June 15, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Rinehard and Ida (Tubbesing) Backman and passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the age of 85 years. Charles grew up in Chicago, Illinoi and when he was 12 years old his family moved to Cuba, Missouri then to St. James, Missouri when he was a Junior in high school. Charles graduated from high school in St. James, Missouri, the Class of 1953. On May 8, 1954 at St. John's Lutheran Church in St. James, Missouri, Charles married Vera Hemme. Charles worked for International Shoe Company until he was drafted into the Army 1958-1960. International sent Charles to Vandalia, Missouri where he worked until International Shoe Company closed in 1963. Charles and Vera moved to Jefferson City, Missouri where Charles went to work for Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance. He later attended and graduated from Capitol City Business College. Charles then went to work for Family Benefit Life Insurance Company until retiring as a Life Underwriter in 1997. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Schubert and was an active volunteer for American Bible Society, Heisinger Bluffs and visited the homebound through Kindred Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rinehard and Ida Backman; and daughter, Deborah Trujillo. Mary then went on to attend East Central College and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering. While raising her three children she worked as a housekeeper for local motels, as well as Casey's General Store in Cuba, Missouri, for many years. In fact, Mary was employed by Casey's all the way up until her illness in 2019. On March 6, 1999 Mary married Michael Bailey. Mary loved fishing, camping and road trips. She also enjoyed playing games, such as Yahtzee, Spades and many others. She was preceded in death by two of her grandchildren, Summer Miller and Killian Miller; parents, Virgil and Opal Fritz; one sister, Bertha Jamison; and one brother, Riley Fritz; and three infant brothers. He married Lizz Hempen. He retired from the Garlich Printing company of Fenton, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Navy. Leroy married Carol Sue Britton on October 2, 1963 in St. James, Missouri. Leroy worked several years as a cattle farmer for the Brewer family. He would later work and retire from Dana Brake Parts. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading. She grew up and attended school in St. Louis, Missouri. On February 19, 1995 Theresa married Terry Harris. Terry and Theresa raised their family in St. Louis, Missouri prior to moving to Sullivan, Missouri in 2006. Theresa spent 10 years as a conductor for Union-Pacific Railroad. She loved singing, dancing, karaoke and being at the river. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Hausner; mother-in-law, Chestella Lovett; and father-in-law, James Harris. Beverly Jean Jones Beverly Jean Jones (nee Henry) of St. Charles, Missouri was born on Wednesday, July 31, 1935 in Macon, Missouri to Joseph E. and Marie Glass Henry and passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 7 days. Beverly graduated from Clopton High School in Clarksville, Missouri in 1953. Beverly was a natural caregiver and went to St. Mary's School of Nursing in Quincy, Illinois where she obtained her degree to be a registered nurse. She had worked as a Director of Nursing at Missouri Baptist Hospital and Bethesda Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Beverly also taught nursing classes at St. Charles Vocational Tech School, after retiring she then worked at a doctor's office. She married Victor T. Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Henry; husband, Victor Jones; son, Michael D. Jones; and sister, Shirley Anne Gipson. She is survived by her brother, Daniel (Sharlene) Henry of Steelville, Missouri; granddaughter, Devin Jones of Waterloo, Illinois; other relatives and friends. Her family chose cremation as her final disposition and will later be buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri. There will not be any services held. Jimmie Lee Little Jimmie Lee Little of Steelville, Missouri was born February 1, 1960 to Jimmie and Donna Little in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away January 12, 2021 at the age of 60 years. Jimmie married Regina Haynes on June 12, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri. Jimmie honorably served his country in the United States Navy. After his service, he worked construction and went to Ranken Technical School to become a welder. He became a pipefitter with Local 562 in St. Louis, Missouri. He then owned and operated Little Paving and Construction Company. Jimmie was of the Penicostal Faith. He enjoyed fishing, building and fixing things, older model 70's cars and playing baseball in his younger days. He is survived by his wife, Regina; one one, Nick Little and companion, Margarett Labbee; daughter, Angela Lewis and companion, Kenneth, all of Steelville, Missouri; one sister, Kelly; one niece, Kaitlyn of New Hampshire; two brothers-in-law, Tim of Steelville, Missouri and Kevin (Ulenita) of St. Clair, Missouri; one stepfather, Lee of O'Fallon, Missouri. Jimmie donated his body to Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. Burial will be at the Jefferson Barracks National Cementery in St. Louis, Missouri at a later date. Walter "Richard" Long Sr Walter "Richard" Long Sr. of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, December 6, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul William Sr. and Blanche Williams Long and passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 12 days. Richard grew up in St. Louis, Missouri until moving to Viburnum, Missouri. His family lived around Davisville, Cherryville and Steelville, Missouri and attended Cherryville High School until his sophomore year. He then moved to Georgia to stay with his uncle and graduated from Alpharetta High School. He married Norma Joel Hedrick on November 16, 1963 in Boss, Missouri. He served our country honorably in the United States Army. He ran a cattle farm and worked at Doe Run as a maintenance foreman and consultant for 26 years. During that time he traveled to Peru to look over the mines to see if they were a good purchase for the company. He ended up retiring twice from Doe Run. Richard also worked at Scott's Mechanical Shop in Sullivan, Missouri and was a bus driver for Steelville Schools. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #77 AF&AM. He had accepted the Lord and attended the Steelville Assembly of God in Steelville, Missouri. Richard enjoyed boating, waterskiing and spent many summers camping at different lakes. He loved classic cars. He liked to travel. He loved to play the guitar and had memorized "Stairway to Heaven." He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Blanche Long; wife of 54 years, Norma Long; father-in-law, Norman Hedrick; siblings, Bill (Helene) Long, Delores (Dave) Frederick and Jack Randall; and brother-in-law, Eddie Johns. Larry Gene Moses Larry Gene Moses of Edmond, Oklahoma, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born November 14, 1968 to Rolla and Gertrude Moses and passed away December 22, 2020 at the age of 52 years. Larry grew up in Berryman, Missouri and later moved to Edmond Oklahoma. He worked for Al's Cafˇ, Hobby Lobby and the Steelville R-3 Schools. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Virgie Moses and William and Sarah Catlett. Shirley Mae Vieman Shirley Mae (nee Antle) Vieman was born in Sullivan, Missouri on January 3, 1935, to Paul Wesley and Mae Suzanne (Baugher) Antle and passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the age of 86 years. Shirley moved with her family to Colorado and lived in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. She was on the rifle team in high school and earned the title, "Expert Marksman." Shirley graduated with honors from Pueblo High School in 1953. Shirley married John Dow Vieman, of Bourbon, Missouri on June 20, 1962. They raised their family primarily in Texas and Missouri. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper, realtor and farmer. She and John raised cattle and put in crops of corn, soybeans and hay. She had a huge garden and loved canning vegetables. She also loved sewing, fishing and traveling. She was very involved with her children's school activities, as well as being Cub Master for Troop 22 in Owensville, Missouri for many years. Shirley enjoyed being a member of Easter Star in Sullivan. Shirley was a Christian who studied the word of God on a daily basis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mae Antle; and three brothers, Don, Bill and Jim Antle.
