Patricia Merle Riling
Patricia Merle Riling nee Tomlinson was born July 8, 1938 in Merced,
California to Robert Lewis Tomlinson and Edith Haynes Tomlinson. She passed
away on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at her home in Cuba, Mo. at the age of 63
years, 8 months and 8 days.
She married Joe Milton Riling on August 12, 1955 in Hawthorne, Nevada and
to this union three children were born.
Patricia spent most of her life in California before moving to Cuba in
1987, where she was bookkeeper for the family dental lab business. Patricia
enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing cards and working
puzzles. Traveling was also one of her favorite pastimes. She was a member
of the First Baptist Church of Turlock, California.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter,
Emerald Starr Lee.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her dear husband Joe of the home;
her three children, Andrew William Riling and wife Tina of Sullivan, Mo.,
Joe Milton Riling, Jr. and wife Debby of Rolla, Mo., and Trudie Lee Hill
and husband Roger of Sullivan, Mo.; eight brothers and sisters, Robert
Wesley Tomlinson and wife Jodene of Boise, Idaho, James Wm. Tomlinson and
wife Jane of Fallon, Nevada, Wilma Jean Birmingham and husband Jack of
Manteca, California, Helen May Bryan and husband Gordon of Yerrington,
Nevada, T. C. Tomlinson and wife Lois of Buhl, Idaho, Monty Charles
Tomlinson and wife Linda of Merced, California, Bertha Elizabeth "Sissy"
Gillispie and husband Bruce of Lenore, Idaho, and Nina Faye Fisher and
husband Mike of Hawthorne, Nevada; two sisters-in-laws, Dovie Lane and
husband Donald of Winton, California, and Linda Kyniston and husband Gene
of Kamath Falls, Oregon; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and
three step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends
who will sadly miss Patricia Merle Riling.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2002 at Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Mo.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at Hutson Funeral Chapel,
Cuba, Mo. with Bro. Eric Smith officiating. Music selections, Amazing Grace
and In The Garden were sung by Mrs. Angie Isringhausen.
Burial was in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. with pallbearers Monty Tomlinson,
Tony Flyzik, Kenneth Tomlinson, Jack Sanders, Randy McFarland, Billy
Tomlinson, and Jack Birmingham.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
