Adams of Cuba, Missouri was born February 1, 1967 at St. Louis, Missouri to Ralph and Veda L. (nee Leslie) Adams and passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 45 years. Brian spent his earlier years as a drywaller and a handy man. He then spent years taking care of family members who needed his help and in the last few months it was family who helped take care of Brian. Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with his friends and always had a good sense of humor. He was quite the storyteller and always had everyone laughing. He will now get to watch all the Cardinal Baseball games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Veda Adams; one brother, Michael Adams; one nephew, Daniel Adams; one brother-in-law, Melvin Makara. Marie Roena Britton Darst Marie Roena Britton Darst of Jacksonville, Texas was born December 13, 1919 in Huzzah, Missouri to Rev. John L. and Allie M. Britton and passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Tyler Texas at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 15 days. She was united in marriage to Rev. Harry Walter Darst on May 21, 1938 at Shoal Creek, Missouri and to this union a daughter was born. Marie was a dedicated Christian and a faithful pastor’s wife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Texas and the Lydia Sunday School class. She served as corresponding secretary of the Womens Auxiliary of America for over 30 years, very active in GMA’s, authored three books and wrote for the WMA and youth department in Golden Words. She was honored as Who’s Who of American Women, Women of Achievement, Women of the Midwest and Who’s Who of Women of the World. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Allie Britton; husband, Harry; son-in-law, Alfred Darst; one brother, Alfred J. She was united in marriage to James Thomas Graham. Ruby was of the Christian faith. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Stella Sutton; husband, James in 1987; and one brother-in-law, Larry Helmering. David Lee Koppelmann David Lee Koppelmann of Sullivan, Missouri was born at Leslie, Missouri on April 1, 1944 to John and Mary (Ellis) Koppelmann and passed away at Life Care Center of Sullivan on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 26 days. He spent his youth in the Spring Bluff area, attending Spring Bluff School. David later graduated from Sullivan High School in 1962.  He was a ”jack-of-all-trades” and began his working career as a gas station attendant and went to work in St. Louis for a short time.  He later became employed at Pea Ridge Mine until it closrd in 1977.  David then attended East Central College where he was the top student in his class.  He was employed in various jobs for a few years and later worked for Canam Steel where he retired in 2007 due to declining health. On September 26, 1964, David married Janet Strauser, and to this union two daughters were born. David’s hobbies were going to auctions, yard sales and flea markets. He was always interested in making a good deal. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Koppelmann; a sister, Mary Ann Righter; one brother John Koppelmann, Jr.; and a nephew, Gregory Koppelmann. Korte of Cuba, Missouri was born January 11, 1933 at Florissant, Missouri to Carl B. and Angelia Korte and passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 79 years. Herbie proudly served in the United States Army from March 9, 1953 till March 10, 1955 and was then transfer to the Army Reserve for six years. Herbie spent his life doing lawn maintenance and working auctions for Donahoe, Lorts and Franky Todd. He took care of his mom until she passed away at the age of 101. He could always be found sitting at the counter of the Huddle House and letting “the girls” wait on him or sitting in his lounge chair at home watching everyone drive by. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Angelia Korte. He is survived by his three step children, Barbara and husband Mike Robinson of Cuba, Missouri, Cynthia and husband Dale Martin of Webster Groves, Missouri and David Clardy of Illinois; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; all the girls at the Huddle House; other relatives and friends. Earnest Burnell Parker Earnest Burnell Parker of Rising Star, Texas formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on August 3, 1932 to Joseph L. and Rosella M. (Reese) Parker in Bunker, Missouri and passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Medical Center of Arlington, Texas at the age of 79 years. Earnest was united in marriage to Shirley E. Jackson on April 15, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Earnest was a Tool & Dye Maker for many years, finishing his career at Electrovert in Camdenton, Missouri. He was an avid outdoor sportsman, raised quail dogs and hunted with them for more than 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his older brothers as they pursued his outdoor hobbies, fishing and working at the ranch. He mastered the art of raising his own birds to train and then turn them into the wild to help the bird population around his home in Cuba and Cross Plains. The Senior Center in both Cuba, Missouri and then the Senior Center in Cross Plains, Texas were almost an everyday visit for the last 10 years, allowing him to enjoy a competitive game of pool with his friends. Since moving to Texas a little over five years ago, he has assisted in building a new home and started a small cattle ranch from scratch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rosella Parker; wife, Shirley E. Parker; one daughter, Laura Frohbeiter; 12 brothers and sisters, Lewis, Samuel, Sebert, Rachel, Troy, Byrtle, Delphia, Alva, Melvin, William, Jesse and Wilma. Ruth “Marie” Shuey Ruth “Marie” Shuey of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri August 12, 1927 to James and Rena (Baty) Barnes and passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Missouri at the age of 84 years. Marie was a caretaker of people, she used her many talents to help everyone, but especially loved helping the older citizens of the community. She loved gardening and canning and sharing the bounty with family and friends. Marie was an avid reader and enjoyed watching television. She was a longtime member of the St. James Christian Church and enjoyed attending and having fellowship with her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rena Barnes; her sister, Grace Cook; two brothers, Arthur and Clarence Barnes. She is survived by her children, Norma Davis and husband Owen of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Corena Shuey of New York, Richard (Joe) Shuey and wife Renea of St. James, Missouri; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and friends. Junia May “Judy” Turnbough Junia May “Judy” Turnbough was born July 31, 1939 in Courtois, Missouri and passed away March 20, 2012 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 72 years. On December 21, 1958, Junia May Payne was united in marriage to Jimmy Lee Turnbough and to this union three children were born. Judy was a member of Viburnum Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, mechanics and carpentry. Anything a man could do she could do better.
