Doss of Tipp City, Ohio (formerly of Bluffton, Ohio) was born February 5, 1940 in Steelville, Missouri to Kenneth and Edith (Towel) Doss and passed away March 30, 2017 at the age of 77 years. On November 1, 1958 he married L. Carol Doss. Kenneth graduated from Steelville High School, Steelville, Missouri. He was a draftsman and an insurance agent for Western- Southern. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, dirt track racing and golfing. Kenneth attended Christian Life Center of Dayton and formerly New Life Assembly of God in Findlay, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol on September 30, 2014; and a sister, Mary Jane Conaway. He is survived by his two sons, Lowell (Lisa) Doss of Tipp City, Ohio and Marshall (Teressa) Doss of Bluffton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. "Bob" Friedmann of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday, October 17, 1939 to Clifford and Ethelyn Elsie (West) Friedmann and passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at the age of 77 years. He received his schooling in one-room school on Highway O through the eighth grade. He graduated from Union High School, Union, Missouri in 1957. He went to work at Purina Research Farm in Gray Summit, Missouri. He worked at Purina until September 1962. He married Thelma M. Wideman on June 3, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in DeSoto, Missouri. In 1962 they moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Upon returning to Missouri, Bob worked a short time at Ford Plant in Hazelwood, Missouri before returning to Purina Research Farm in Gray Summit, Missouri. Bob got a job at Kearney Electric Co. in St. Louis, Missouri shortly thereafter and family moved to Eureka, Missouri. In May 1968, Bob went to work for Kirkwood Police Department until his retirement in August 1997. Bob was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and was on a church team at Gray Summit, Missouri. He enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting as well as going to Colorado, Wyoming and Canada hunting. In 1994, Bob and Thelma purchased land in Steelville, Missouri and had a house built and lived there the past 21 years. After his retirement from the Police Department, he and Thelma worked for Horizon Transport Co. in Waukarusa, Indiana, hauling recreational trailers to dealers all over the United States. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ethelyn Friedmann; son, Michael Friedmann; grandson. Deanea Joyce Johnson Deanea Joyce Johnson of Natick, Massachusetts formerly of St. James, Missouri, was born in Rolla, Missouri to Robert Duckworth and Jacqueline J. Freeman and passed away Tuesday March 21, 2017 at the age of 49 years. Deanea grew up in St. James, Missouri and lived on the family farm where she found a love for horses. Later in life she moved to the Boston area and worked for the West Roxbury Veterans Hospital. She and her family attended the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Natick, Massacgysetts. She was a giving person and loved people. She was known for giving money to whoever called and asked for donations, sometimes several calls in one day. She enjoyed traveling to the islands of Hawaii and to Arubia. She loved to sky dive. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Allen Duckworth. She is survived by her husband, Robert Johnson of Natick, Massachusetts; her mother, Jacqueline J. Light of St. James, Missouri was born in Calico Rock, rkansas on August 15, 1921 to Elvin James and Artie M. (Coggins) Light and passed away April 1, 2017. Henry served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1946. He set-up and maintained portable generators for radar equipment and searchlight equipment. He was also in combat action on the frontline of combat. He earned three Bronze Stars. Henry married Eloise Price on July 6, 1946, and to this union two daughters were born. Henry was a heavy crane operator in the Steel Industry in St. Louis, Missouri and they made their home in Webster Groves, Missouri. After Henry retired they moved to St. James, Misouri and bought 10 acres just outside of town where they built their home, which included a little workshop for Henry. Henry enjoyed woodworking. He take care of the yard. He would get out every spring and till up the garden spot, plan very carefully what he was going to plant. Henry gladly shared his bounty with family, friends, and neighbors; what they didn't share Eloise would can or freeze so that they could enjoy it during the long winter months. Henry loved the outdoors and being on the farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Artie Light; brothers, James, Lowell, Lawrence, Elvin Jr., Noel and Delbert Light; and brother-in-law, Arvel Hughes. Martin Gerald "Jerry" D. Martin was born at Cherryville, Missouri on Wednesday, November 22, 1939 to Kenneth W. and Delma (Alexander) Martin and passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 5 days. Jerry was part of the Steelville graduating class of 1957 and served in the US Air Force from 1957-1961 as a mechanic. He worked at the Theater to save money for his first bicycle, to buying his first of many cars and later supporting his family. After serving in the military, he married and to that union a daughter was born and he became father to a son. He worked for Halbert Construction for many years and later started his own business, Martin Construction, which he has since passed down to his grandson. In 1971, he married his present wife, Luci and to this union one daughter was born and he became a father to three more sons and three more daughters. He has been a part of the Steelville community his whole life. He has excavated, demoed, hauled rock, built lakes and constructed many things in Crawford County, during his lifetime. He loved cars, particularly old ones. He was definitely a gear-head. He worked on cars from his teen days until he could no longer get up and around. He used to dirt-track race as a young man and as he got older, he got his family into old cars. It all started with his 1932 Ford that he bought at 15 years old and renovated several times over the last 60 years. And now, there are at least 10 old cars owned by his kids, grandkids and nephews that he has helped build and countless others that he has helped his friends work on over the years. He would help anyone who needed it. Ronal "Macho" "Ronnie" Leo Mason Ronal "Macho" "Ronnie" Leo Mason of Viburnum, Missouri was born June 7, 1940 in Courtois, Missouri to Haskel and Sadie Badgley Mason and passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 20 days. On February 7, 1970 in Viburnum, Missouri he married Elaine Gibson and to this union two children were born. Ronnie was Viburnum's well known barber and had worked in that profession for 58 years retiring in October 2016. He was a member of the Viburnum Methodist Church for several years. Ronnie always enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing softball along with other sports and attending the Viburnum High School sports events for many years. Since he was so respected in the area, Ronnie was named Grand Marshal of the Old Miner's Day parade in 2015. He loved being able to enjoy the outdoors and nature and had one of the most beautiful yards in the area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskel and Sadie Mason; and two sisters, Glenda Sellers and Hilda Sargent. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Mason of Viburnum, Missouri; one son, Ronald Scott Mason of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Yvonne Bobbitt and husband Danny of Dillard, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Richard Gibson and wife Dolores of Utah; two grandchildren, Leah Mason and Loman Bobbitt; two great grandchildren, Nevaeh Sumpter and Ian Sumpter; other relatives and friends. Michael worked as an electrician in residential construction and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 1) in St. Louis, Missouri. Michael enjoyed backpacking throughout Europe and South America. On August 8, 1953 Anna married Jack Smoot and to this union two children were born. LaWanda graduated from college with a Masters Degree in Elementry Education. She taught for 30 years in several school districts including the St. James School District. LaWanda started singing in the Rover Baptist Church Choir when she was two. She played piano at the the First Baptist Church in St. James for over 20 years and was currently a member of the Church of God in St. James, Missouri. She had a passion for music, gardening, antiquing and the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a longtime member of the St. James Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Clara Huddleston; brothers, Dale and Bobby Huddleston; brothers-in-law, Robert Gene Smoot and Gerald Pennycuick; and sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Smoot and Nadine Huddleston. Nancy married Joseph Paul "Joe" Stuckenberg on March 24, 1994 in Steelville, Missouri. She worked as a binder at San Val Book Binding Factory in Steelville, Missouri for 10 years. Later she worked for nine years as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Springfield, Missouri. She was a member of Ozark Barn Stormers Flying Club. She was a remote control model airplanes hobbyist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Beatrice Clark; parents-in-law, Herman and Rose Bommaritto; infant son, Brian Keith White; sister, Judith Evans; and brother-in-law, Art Stuckenberg. She is survived by her husband, Joe Stuckenberg of Springfield, Missouri; sons, Robert L.
