MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 6, 2016 Pearl Albright Pearl Albright was born on May 5, 1931 to Posey and Nellie Ray and passed away March 23, 2016. She grew up in the countryside near Leasburg, Missouri. Pearl always spoke fondly of her memories of attending Nixon School, a one-room schoolhouse and walking several miles to attend services at Crossroads Baptist Church. Pearl was a proud graduate of Bourbon High School Class of 1949. That same year she married her schoolmate, Herschel Albright. Pearl and Herschel were married for 66 years and were blessed with six children. Pearl not only cared for her own children, she also babysat other children to earn extra money for the family. She also sold Avon for 50 years and took in laundry to help support the family. When Pearl's youngest child started school, she obtained a full-time job at the Sullivan Hospital. She worked as an admissions and insurance clerk there for 18 years. Pearl then began working for St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri and she worked there 12 years until she retired in 2001. Pearl worked part-time as the ketchup Nazi for the Sullivan Elementary School, delivered Meals on Wheels, worked for Weight Watchers, served meals at the Bourbon Community Center and worked at the Agape House. Pearl was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bourbon, Missouri since 1950. Pearl recorded the church attendance each Sunday morning, she sang in the choir, and she participated in many church socials. While her children were young, she made jams and jelly, dill and bread-and-butter pickles, applesauce, canned vegetables, and froze fruit for pies. While working in her kitchen Pearl would often be found whistling or singing along with the radio. Her favorites were gospel and country music. She is survived by her husband, Herschel; children and their spouses, Joyce Albright, Joe Lee, and Charlene Albright; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Katie Colson, Bill Colson, Jeffrey Albright, Jessica Albright-Hantz, Melissa Albright, C.J. Lee, Jennifer Albright-Lively, Coty Colson, Joshua Albright, Jared Albright, Logan Albright, Alex Richards, Addyson Lively, Adam Albright, Ava Lively, and Owen Albright; one living sister, Vera Grace Bobbitt; other relatives and friends. (Ret.) William "Bill" Thomas Archer of Sligo, Missouri was born December 29, 1932 in Manistee, Michigan to William C. Archer and Vera Margariet Soller Archer and passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the age of 83 years and 3 months. He married Carolyn "Carrie" Joan Ford in June 1954 at West Point, New York. Bill began his military career in 1950 at West Point Military Academy graduating in 1954. During his 21 years of service he had one tour of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam, retiring in 1975 at the rank of Lt. Colonel. From 1975 to 1978, he and his wife lived in Texas and then moved to Sligo, Missouri in 1978 where he raised cattle for over 20 years and was a rural mail carrier for 10 years. During this time, he was a member of the Sligo United Methodist Church. He was the church pianist. He served as a certified layman for the Methodist Church, also served on the Sligo Cemetery Board and was past president of the Carriage Travel Club. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing pinochle. He and Carrie loved to travel the country going to all 50 states and Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vera Archer; and sister-in-law, Patricia Archer. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carrie Archer of Sligo, Missouri; three daughters, Debbie Schulke and husband Emil of Sligo, Missouri, Denise "Gus" Coleman and husband Allen of Cherryville, Missouri and Dianna McDonald and husband Terry of Greenville, Texas; three brothers, John Robert Archer and wife Mary and Phillip Ray Archer, all of Brethern, Michigan and Dean Allen Archer and wife Joan of Scottville, Michigan; seven grand- children, Krista, Jackyn, EJ, Evan, Curtis, Tyler and Mary; great grandchildren, Gracie, Eli, Josh, Keenan, Matthew and Jordan; other relatives and friends. Gladis Irene Aston Gladis Irene Aston (nee Scott) of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Adair, Illinois, was born on Wednesday, December 20, 1939 in Ozark, Arkansas to Miley Clay and Mable Adel (Rogers) Scott and passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 7 days. Gladis married Gerald Michael Cobb and to this union four daughters were born. She married Robert Aston on June 4, 1970. Gladis worked for Quick Set Locks, Mfg. and later worked as a machinist for Black and Decker, Inc. until retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miley Clay and Mable Adel (Rogers) Scott; first husband, Gerald Michael Cobb; daughter, Debra White; brothers, Eugene (Lola) Scott, Miley Scott, Jr., and Calvin (Rubie) Scott; and brother-in-law, Darrell Aston. Mary Jean Cuneio Mary Jean Cuneio of Sullivan, Missouri was born on January 25, 1931 at Cuba, Missouri to Elmer L. and Mamie E. (West) Osborn and passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Jean as she was known was united in marriage to Floyd M. Cuneio on August 20, 1949 and they were blessed with four children. Jean was employed at the former Schulte Bakery in Fairway Shopping Center for 13 years and Paramount Metalizing for 13 years. Jean was also a very good seamstress and for many years made pillows for the hospital's surgery patients. She accepted the Lord as her Savior and was faithful member of First Assembly of God for over 65 years. She taught the Ladies Bible Class for Sunday school for many years and cooked her special sweet potatoes for most all the church funeral dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mamie Osborn; her husband, Floyd Cuneio; one son, Rev. "Hunts" Donaldson, Jr. of Leasburg, Missouri was born on August 8, 1954 to Carl B. Donaldson, Sr. and Shirley Marie (Woodward) Donaldson Breitweiser at St. Louis, Missouri and passed Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the age of 61 years. "Hunts" as he was known by family and friends attended school and lived in St. Louis, Missouri until 20 years ago when he made his home in Leasburg, Missouri. Hunts worked as a handyman for various people in the area, usually for free. He did most everything including cutting and bailing hay, fixing fence, running a tractor, carpentry work and working cattle. He would lend a hand to anyone in need. In his spare time Hunts enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernie and Alice Donaldson. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Breitweiser of Leasburg, Missouri; father and step-mother, Carl B. Betty Jane Eggers Betty Jane Eggers (nee Bailey) of Washington, Missouri, formerly of Bismarck, Missouri, was born on December 30, 1925 in Williamsport, PA to William and Anna Shriner Bailey and passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 25 days. After high school graduation, Betty worked in the USO with her sister, Margaret during WWII. She met her husband, Robert "Bob" O. Eggers at a roller rink while he was stationed close by and they were married July 25, 1945 in Williamsport, Pennyslvania. In 1952, they moved back to Bob's home to take over the family oil company, Texaco, and Betty became the bookkeeper. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron in Bismarck, Missouri. Betty was of the Methodist faith. Her hobbies were ceramics and traveling. Bob and Betty lived nearly 20 years in Brownsville, Texas after retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Bailey; husband, Bob; and sister, Margaret Barry. The family later moved to the Leasburg area and soon after, Mary Edna attended and graduated from Sullivan High School. On September 7, 1940 she married Kurt Koehn, Jr. at Cuba, Missouri and to this union two children were born. She stood by her husband's side always and in any circumstance. It can be said that she was a true old-fashioned homemaker. Family reunions were always a special time. Mary Edna had a quiet disposition and a pleasant demeanor and loved a good joke. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Sullivan, Missouri where she was involved in W.O.M. and the BALL Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elasco and Mabel Lockhart; husband, Kurt, son-in-law, Calvin Charboneau; great grandson, Luke Calvin Charboneau; and a brother Robert Lockhart. Robin Lynn Warren Robin Lynn Warren of Cuba, Missouri was born November 23, 1955 in Illinois to James and Louise (nee Beck) Hardin and passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the age of 60 years. Robin was united in marriage to Donald E. Warren in the early 1970's and to this union four sons were born. Robin spent her life taking care of her family and the home. She was a collector of dolls, peace sign items, stuffed animals and other knick knacks. She spent many hours watching TV, especially CSI and the Walking Dead and she enjoyed reading magazines. Robin's greatest passion was her love for animals. She raised exotic animals, exotic birds, monkeys, Echo and Wilber her pot belly pigs and many dogs including Peaches. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise Hardin; one sister, Sue McCall; and one brother, Donald Strieler. Mary Ellen "Sis" Taber Mary Ellen "Sis" Taber of St. James, Missouri, was born in St. James, Missouri on March 11, 1935 to Arthur Lester and Mary Viola (Gorman) Mitchell and passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016. Mary Ellen was joined in marriage to George Coywell Taber on October 16, 1954. From this union they were blessed with two children. Mary Ellen loved to sew and was a mastered seamstress. She enjoyed making clothing and quilts for her children and grand- children. She felt that her greatest accomplishments were her children and their families. Mary Ellen enjoyed a career as a highly skilled seamstress in area garment manufacturing facilities. She was an active member of the St. James Christian Church since childhood. Following her retirement she was employed at the local Dollar General Store as a cashier. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George C. Taber; parents, Arthur and Mary Mitchell; mother and father-in-law, George and Thelma Taber; brother, Arthur E. Mitchell; sister, Viola V.
