Delores Bennetsen
Delores Bennetsen of St. James, Missouri was born November 24, 1918 in
St. James, Missouri to John William and Eliza Eleanor (Adams) Seaton and
passed away Saturday April 3, 2010 at the St. James Golden Living Center at
the age of 91 years, 4 months and 10 days.
On November 23, 1939 in St. James, Missouri, Delores was united in marriage
to Truman Keith Bennetsen. He passed away December 31, 2002.
Delores was a homemaker. She enjoyed embroidery work and liked to go on
trips and enjoyed the scenery. She was a member of the Miles Club and was
a member of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eliza Seaton; husband,
Truman; one brother, Virgil Seaton and two sisters, Addie Bottroff and
Beatrice Breuer.
She is survived by her a daughter, Brenda Sportsman and husband Robert of
St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Gladys Luna of St. James, Missouri; two
grandchildren, Jason Sportsman and Janet Dillon; four great grandchildren,
Madison and Alec Sportsman and Eligah and Cole Dillon; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was Monday, April 5, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral
Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the Jones Funeral
Home in St. James, Missouri with Douglas Lane officiating.
Pallbearers were Quentin Satterfield, Jason Sportsman, Daniel Dillon, Scott
Bartle, Don Davis and Marvin Bartle.
Burial was at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ruth Virginia Brown
Ruth Virginia Brown (nee Harlow) of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of
Brentwood, New Hampshire, was born July 30, 1919 in Roxbury, Massachusetts
to Thomas Paty Harlow and Alice Maude (Williams) Harlow and passed away
Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri at the
age of 90 years.
On April 10, 1942, she was united in marriage to Warren Arnaud Brown who
preceded her in death on July 8, 2007. Three children were born to this
union.
For several years, Ruth worked as a secretary in Rockville, Maryland and
later retiring as librarian at the Public Library in Brentwood, New
Hampshire.
She was a member of the Christ Church Episcopal of Exeter, New Hampshire.
For many years she was active in the Episcopal Women’s group, a repre-
sentative of the National Cathedral, supporter of the Children’s Home, member
of the Altar Guild for over thirty years, supporter of the Episcopal Home
for Emotionally Disturbed Children, active as a den mother for cub scouts
and girl scouts. Later was active in the Senior Group and the Historical
Society in Brentwood, New Hampshire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alice Harlow; her
husband, Warren; two brothers, Charles and George Harlow; and one sister,
Alice Kast.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Thompson and husband Steve of
Steelville, Missouri; two sons, Willard A. Brown and wife Corinne of South
Miami, Florida and Philip T. Brown and wife Junel of Seabrook, New Hampshire;
one brother, Richard Harlow and wife Marguarite of Connecticut; eight
grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Inurnment will be in the Waterside Cemetery at Marblehead, Maine.

Tommy M. Coleman
Tommy M. Coleman of Sullivan, Missouri was born on April 11, 1928 at
Jefferson City, Missouri to Garnett and Emma (Whiteside) Coleman and passed
away on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital, at
the age of 81 years.
Tommy was raised in various parts of Missouri and later honorably served his
country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On March 8, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lois Summers at Salem,
Arkansas and to this marriage three sons were born.
Tommy was first employed at Paramount Cap Manufacturing in Bourbon and later
worked for 25 years at the former Nieman Tool and Die Company in Sullivan
until it closed. He then worked in Chesterfield, Missouri at the Mark Andy
Tool and Machine Corporation as a Harding Lathe machinist. After 10 years of
employment there he retired and in his retirement drove cars for West
Brothers Chrysler in Sullivan, Missouri.
He enjoyed driving around town in his truck on a Sunday morning…and sneaking
a cigarette that he thought his family didn’t know about. He liked laying in
his favorite recliner watching NASCAR, some game show or Cardinals baseball
and he loved animals.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a half-brother, Ernest Lanham.
He is survived by his wife Lois, of the family home; three sons, Ron Coleman
and special friend, Deana Branson of Sullivan, Missouri, Don Coleman and
wife Debbie of Sullivan, Missouri, and Randy Coleman and wife Angie of
Sullivan, Missouri; two half-sisters, Mary Ann Joiner of Cuba, Missouri
and Doris O’Connor of St. James, Missouri; five grandchildren; three great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday evening from 4 p.m. until time of services at
7 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Memorial funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2010
from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastors
Ted Hurley and Kirk Parnell officiating.
Inurnment was Tuesday morning at 11:30 a.m. in Oddfellows Cemetery in
Sullivan, Missouri.

Christy Lee Conway
Christy Lee Conway of Cuba was born to Jerry D. and Sheila L. (Jones)
Conway on October 2, 1979 in Washington, Missouri and passed away
Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the age of 30.
Christy was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her two children and
spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila Lee Conway; grandparents
James Morgan Jones and Ocie Baxter.
She is survived by her fiancé, James Knowlton of Cuba, Missouri; two
children, Tesah Conway and James Knowlton, both of Cuba, Missouri; father,
Jerry D. Conway of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Jerry and wife Darlene Conway of
Cuba, Missouri; grandmother, Betty Jo Holcomb of Wentzville, Missouri; other

Paul Oliver Crombie
Paul Oliver Crombie of Sullivan, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was
born Monday, June 19, 1922 at Kimmswick, Missouri to William and Olga
(nee Kreid) Crombie and passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Sullivan,
Missouri at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 15 days.
Paul retired in 1984 after many years as a welder for Laclede Gas Company
in St. Louis. Before moving to Cuba Paul lived for many years at Fenton,
Missouri. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba, the Cuba
Knights of Columbus and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Olga Crombie; first
wife, Frances R. Crombie; brothers, Clifford and Charles Leonard Crombie;
sister, Anita Weldele; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Crombie of the home; two sons, Mark and
wife Katharina Crombie of St. Louis, Missouri and Paul and wife Rita Crombie
of Marthasville, Missouri; two step sons, Carl W. Brown and John S. Dahlke;
six grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Melissa, Ethan, Kathryn and Grant Crombie;

Brenda Lee Gillam
Brenda Lee Gillam of Steelville, Missouri was born September 14, 1961 to
Howard Roney Ray Gillam and Shirley Jean Laney Gillam and passed away Monday,
March 29, 2010 at the St. Claire Health Center in Fenton, Missouri at the
age of 48 years.
She was a member of the VFW Gun Club in Cuba. Brenda enjoyed spending her
time on the computer, sewing and playing with her dog, Rosco and her cat,
Tom Tom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Shirley Gillam and
special friend, Vernon Abney.
She is survived by her son, Jessie Gillam of Cuba, Missouri; daughter,
Sabrina Hearst and husband Kevin of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers, William
Howard Lawrance Gillam and friend Reba of Steelville, Missouri and Howard
Gillam Jr. and friend of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Michael Ernest Gray
Michael Ernest Gray of Cuba, Missouri was born February 24, 1957 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Elmer Ernest Gray and Edna Eugena McNeal Gray and
passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 in his apartment in Cuba, Missouri,
of apparent natural causes, at the age of 53 years.
Michael attended school through the 11th grade and decided to go his own
way. Life choices led him down a rough road with its ups and downs but he
never really seemed to find real contentment.
Michael married and divorced years ago and had a son. He later fathered a
daughter who he recently met.
He accepted the Lord about 25 years ago in a Baptist Church. He enjoyed
the outdoors and cutting wood. He was a member of the Steelville Country
Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Edna Gray.
He is survived by his children, Charlie and Becca; two brothers, David Lee
(Betty) Gray of Licking, Missouri and James Douglas Gray of Belgrade,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Kenneth Earl Jackson Owensville, Missouri was born in Rolla, Missouri on
April 22, 1934 to Kathryn (Heavin) and Benjamin Earl Jackson and passed
away Friday, April 2, 2010 at Plaza Medical Center of Ft. Worth in
Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 10 days.
On December 12, 1984 he was united in marriage to June Tetty.
He served his county with the United States Navy.
He was the owner/operator of Jahabow Industries in Owensville, Missouri.
He was a member of the Christ Community Church and the National Cutting
Horse Assn.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, June; children, Larry Jackson and wife Sherri
of Owensville, Missouri and Debbie Miller of O’Fallon, Missouri; step
daughters, Pamela Causey of St. James, Missouri and Kim Zumbehl of
Chesterfield, Missouri; sister, Delores Ashby of Lillian, Alabama;

Greg A. Matchell of St. Clair, Missouri, was born October 31, 1963 to
Joseph and Delores nee Unverferth Matchell in Sullivan, Missouri and
passed Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Washington, Missouri at the age of
46 years. He received his education at Steelville High School and the
University of Missouri in Rolla, Missouri.
On June 9, 1987 he was married to Cindy Robinson in Steelville, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Delores Matchell.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Matchell of St. Clair, Missouri; one
daughter, Heather Matchell of St. Clair, Missouri; one brother, Patrick

Eva Murrell McCarthy
Eva Murrell McCarthy of Steelville, Missouri was born October 17, 1924 in
Owensboro, Kentucky to Harmon Leslie and Addie Lee Burdette Hines and passed
away Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri
at the age of 85 years.
On January 19, 1946 in Owensboro, Kentucky, she was united in marriage to
J.C. McCarthy.
During WWII, she worked in the shipyard at Evansville, Indiana and was
known as “Wendy the Welder.” Later Eva worked 35 years at Woolworths in
St. Louis and retired to Steelville, Missouri in 1984.
She had been a member of the Ferguson First Baptist Church and later
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Addie Hines; son,
Richard Lee McCarthy; one grandson, Paul McCarthy; three brothers,
J.T. Hines, Burt Hines and Tom Hines; three sisters, Pauline Hamilton,
Virginia Wilyard and Martine Claffy.
She is survived by her husband, J.C. McCarthy of Steelville, Missouri;
one son, J.C. McCarthy Jr. of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Pat
Booker and husband Vernon of Cook Station, Missouri; one brother, Harmon
Lee Hines and wife Lou of Mt. View, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Wilson of

Travis Michael Nix of Cuba, Missouri was born May 6, 1992 in St. Louis,
Missouri to Douglas Edward Nix and Tammie Jo (Turnbough) Nix of Cuba,
Missouri and passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Crawford County at the
age of 17 years.
Travis loved being outdoors on his four-wheeler, loved dancing, loved being
with friends and most of all loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Wendell Nix and
J.C. Howard; great grandparents, Roy and Helen Turnbough, Lida and Raymond
Harper; great great grandparents, Litha and Emery Turnbough, Edna Fern,

Other music played was “One Sweet Day,” “Go Rest High” and a few of Travis’
favorite music.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.

Caringer, Ryan Robinson, Nick Brashear and Eric Devine. Honorary casket

David Arthur Parker
David Arthur Parker of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday,
September 30, 1958 at Vienna, Missouri to Tom and Marcella (nee Glenn)
Parker and passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at St. Louis, Missouri at
the age of 51 years, 6 months and 2 days.
David was an owner/operator of dump trucks and heavy equipment since he was
old enough to drive. He hauled asphalt in the summer and screened gravel in
the winter (which he learned from his dad). David graduated as a diesel
mechanic from the tech school in Sedalia, Missouri. David loved his family
and spending Sunday’s with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Marcella Parker;
brother-in-law, Dean Hammond; mother-in-law, Judith Beauchamp; other
relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Ann Marie Beauchamp Parker of the home;
son, Jeremy Nathan and wife Melissa Parker of Vienna, Missouri; three

Timothy Lee Quick was born on July 16, 1981 in St. Louis, Missouri to
Robert and Vickie (Asher) Quick and passed away on March 30, 2010 at the
Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 28.
He was united in marriage to Samantha Marie James on June 28, 2008 at
Maramec Spring in St. James, Missouri.
Timothy loved sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Rams.
He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Samantha Marie (James) Quick of

Furman “Bob” Radford
Furman “Bob” Radford of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday,
November 24, 1926 in Centerville, Missouri to Elijah and Elizabeth
Kavanaugh Radford and passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the age
of 83 years, 4 months and 6 days.
Bob served two tours in Vietnam and retired from the United States Army with
an honorable discharge. He later worked and retired from Brown Shoe in
Steelville, Missouri. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church, and
the VFW Post #6479 in Steelville, Missouri. Mechanics was a hobby of his.
He married Juanita Hinch on January 14, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri and to
this union three children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Elizabeth Radford;
brother, Jim Radford; sisters, Carol Counts, and Jeanette Fleming;
brothers-in-law, Bill Hinch and Lindell Hinch and sister-in-law, Marie
Hinch.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons, Gene Radford and Phillip (Rita)
Radford, all of Steelville, Missouri; daughter, Linda Haynes of Louisiana;
brothers, Thurman “Gene” Radford and Everett (Betty) Radford, all of

Larry David Rowland
Larry David Rowland was born Thursday, August 27, 1953 in Rolla, Missouri
to David A. and Thelma (Pratt) Rowland and passed away Thursday,
April 1, 2010 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri at the age of 56 years,
7 months and 5 days.
Larry grew up in the town of Bourbon, Missouri and attended Bourbon Schools
graduating from Bourbon High School in 1972.
He was previously employed by Walmart of Cuba. He enjoyed being a weather
watcher, particularly watching for storms. He also enjoyed reading history
books, talking politics and finances, farming, his many cats and spending
time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, David A. Rowland; other relatives
and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Thelma (Pratt) Rowland of Cuba, Missouri;

Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Interment followed at the Crow Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.
