On December 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Linda Fry in Crockett, Arkansas. Joel was a member of the Church of Christ in Sullivan, Missouri. Joel enjoyed the outdoors and took part in many of the activities that can be appreciated in nature along with hunting, fishing, bird watching, flowers and horses. Joel was an auto repairman for Chrysler and retired after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bessie Barnwell; and step-father, Virgil Vincent. On December 12, 1970 Joe Devall was united in marriage to Darlene Purcell. Joe honorably served in the United States Army. He enjoyed farming and feeding his cattle, fishing, hunting, and playing music. Joe was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying. He loved to watch The Andy Griffith Show and HGTV and watching movies with Stephanie. Joe attended Grace Community Church. Everett Lavern "Red" Garver Everett Lavern "Red" Garver was born August 22, 1932 in Royal, Missouri to August F. and Nora A. Fuhring Garver and passed away on April 3 at the age of 85 years. He spent a happy childhood on the family farm. From June 16, 1955 to June 14, 1957 he proudly served in the United States Army. On November 14, 1964 he married Ruth Ann Waring Garver. Over his life he held a number of occupations: farmer, barber, salesman, glazier and perhaps what he is best known as a carpenter. He was also an extremely talented musician, known well for his fiddle playing at weddings and parties. His musical talents were not limited to the fiddle. Someone once said, "If it had strings, Red Garver could play it!" After retiring, he helped his wife run Ruby's Ice Cream, often helping to make the ice cream, and serving the community volunteering for the Golden Age Center. Two things that were consistent through all of his life were his attention to the details and his dedication to serving his fellow man. Bill was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus #8920 in Cuba, Missouri, was a former State President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in 1988-1989 and a former officer of the Elks Club in Arnold, Missouri. He worked and retired early from General Motors, he then started his own business, "Ace Novelty and Distributing Co" which he later sold then started a BINGO supply company, which he also later sold. Bill enjoyed anything technology related and had to have the latest and greatest tech items. He loved Cardinal baseball, going fishing in Canada and hunting big game. Tommy Lynchard Tommy Lynchard of Bourbon, Missouri was born on May 9, 1923 in Silver City, Mississippi to Ed and Bessie Lynchard and passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the age of 94 years. He was one of 21 children and attended school in Mississippi. As a young man, went to work in the C. C. Camps to provide money for his family. At age 19, Tommy entered the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Pacific during WWII at Roi Namur, Saipan and Iwo Jima. Tommy was a decorated veteran, earning two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with V for valor. In Mississippi on July 4, 1945 Tommy married Margie McHan. He then became a miner in Missouri at Meramec Mining Company (later known as Pea Ridge). Margie preceded Tommy in death in 1995. Tommy met and married Beverly Hannafius, on November 20, 1999. Tommy and Beverly made their home in Bourbon, Missouri and together they enjoyed watching Cardinal's baseball and going to flea markets. Tommy loved hunting, fishing, trapping and working on anything mechanical. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Bourbon, Missouri. He was the youngest of two children. Fred excelled at basketball, track and golf. After graduating from St. James High School, he attended the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (now known as Missouri S&T) and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While in college, Fred was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity Š Missouri Chapter. In 1961 Fred enlisted in the United States Army, where he served overseas as a combat engineer and rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was honorably discharged in 1968. Following his years of service, Fred owned and operated Highway Transportation Company and Marshall Trucking Company with terminals in Sullivan, Cuba, St. James, St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield. Gary proudly served in the United States Army from 1963 till 1987 and retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel. Gary earned the Legion of Merit, 4 - Bronze Star Medal 4, 2 - Purple Heart, Merit Service Medal, 2 - Air Medal, Army Commend Medal - 30LC, Army Good Conduct Medal, Nation Defense Service Medal, 8 - Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Res Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Civil Act Merit Unit Citation, Vietnam Camp Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gall Cross Unit Citation with Palm, Combat Infantry Bridge and the Republic of Vietnam Gall Cross with Silver Star. His military education consisted of Infantry Officer Candidate Course, 23 weeks, Infantry Officer Advanced Course, 36 weeks, Nuclear Weapons and Target Analysis, four weeks, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability Course, Command and General Staff College, 44 weeks and Senior Officer Orientation, one week. After retiring from the Army, Gary then worked as a Resource Manager for Aero Jet in Azusa, California, was a Financial Planner for USPA and IRA in Rosamond, California and would later retire again as a kindergarten teacher from Mojave Grade School in Mojave, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma Warnhoff; one brother, Melvin Warnhoff; one sister, Glenda; and two sisters-in-law, Norma and husband Walt Daehn and Mable and husband Emmett McCune. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Rector Warnhoff of the home; one sister, Sue Burkhart of Granite City, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Elinor Snelson of Cuba, Missouri, Virginia and husband Bill Apperson of Granite City, Illinois and Linda Warnhoff of St. Charles, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Gary Mace officiating. Interment, prayers and full military honors followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
