Lowell William Calder
Lowell William Calder, 79, of Rolla, formerly of
Steelville, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Heritage Park
Nursing Center in Rolla, Missouri. He was born June 1, 1926 in Peach
Orchard, Missouri, the son of David William and Jossie Creach
Calder.
He was married to Mary Louise Weaver and to this union
three children were born. He later married Helen Louise (Greenwalt)
Watts on May 23, 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri and she preceded him in
death on August 13, 1966. Lowell married Rose (Chandler) Stricklin
in 1998 and she survives of the nursing home.
Lowell is survived by his children, Lowell Calder Jr,
and wife Roxanne of St. Francis, Arkansas, Debra Ann Garrison and
husband David of Duluth, Minnesota, and Brenda Kay Forbs and
companion Doys Jackson of Campbell, Missouri.
Step children, Shirley Schroeder and husband Dale of
Flagstaff, Arizona, Jeanne Hood and husband Richard of St. Charles,
Missouri, Donna Gibbs and husband Charles, Cathy Martin and husband
Keith, all of Steelville, Missouri; Terri Watts of Columbia, Robyn
Thomas and husband Michael of Baltimore, Maryland, and Jerry Watts
of Afton, Missouri, Jerry Stricklin and wife Lisa of Edgar Springs,
Missouri, Donnie Stricklin and wife Mary of Cherryville, Missouri,
Ronnie, Paul, and Jimmy, all of Steelville; Alberta Lynch and
husband Jim of Venice, California, Ruby Garter and husband Benny of
Apple Valley, California, Brenda Blacker and husband Gene of Lamor,
California, Janet Briese and husband Roy of Las Vegas, Nevada, and
Velma Clemensosh of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Three brothers, Melvin Calder of Mesquite, Texas,
Lawrence Calder of Maiden and Jim Calder and wife Sandra of Fisk,
Missouri; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Lowell had worked as a yardman for the C and O Railroad.
Graveside services for Lowell Calder were held Tuesday
April 4, 2006 in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri with
the Rev. Ernest Puckett officiating.
Visitation was held in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home
in Steelville, Missouri Monday April 3, 2006.
All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Lillian J. Cranmer
Lillian J. Cranmer, nee Loomas, formerly of Cuba,
Missouri was born on October 12, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas to
James W. and Orpha Loomas. She passed away in O'Calla, Florida on
March 21, 2006 at the age of 87 years.
Lillian had worked several years for TWA in St. Louis,
Missouri. She married Earnest R. Cranmer on August 1, 1958 in
Clayton, Missouri and he passed away in December 1998. They had
lived in Indian Hills in Cuba, Missouri after retirement before
moving to Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Earnest Cranmer; and one brother, James Robert Loomas.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her step
daughter, Pat Cranmer of St. Peters, Missouri; and step son, Robert
Cranmer and wife Gail of Seattle, Washington.
Burial was in Mounts Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Local arrangements under the direction of the Hutson
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Timothy J. "Tim" Helmering
Timothy J. "Tim" Helmering of Rolla, Missouri passed
away on Friday April 7, 2006 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in
Springfield, Missouri at the age of 48.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 4, 1957 to
the late Larry and Sue (Sutton) Helmering. After graduating from
Steelville High School in 1975, Tim joined the Air Force. He then
landed a job at Boeing Aircraft where he spent 23 years working up
to management supervisor before retiring in 2001 to return to
Missouri.
Tim married Junette Albert, his childhood friend and
neighbor on April 18, 2005.
Tim is preceded in death by this father Larry and
father-in-law Reinhold G. Albert Jr.
Tim will be sadly missed by his surviving family and
friends, which include his wife Junette, of the home in Rolla; two
sons, Bobby Helmering of Decatur, Tennessee and Josh Toole of Rolla;
two daughters, Tracy Jo Helmering of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Emilie
Toole of Denver, Colorado; mother, Sue Helmering of Cuba, Missouri;
two brothers, Alan Helmering and wife Karla of Linn, Missouri and
David Helmering of Steelville, Missouri and his mother-in-law Fern
Albert.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, April 11 from 4-9 p.m.
Funeral Service for Tim Helmering was held on Wednesday, April 12,
2006 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, starting at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Null and
Son Funeral Home of Rolla.
Willard F. Heseman
Willard F. Heseman, age 59, of Linn, Missouri, passed
away April 2, 2006 at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City,
Missouri.
He was born December 18, 1946 in Hermann, Missouri. The
son of William Bradford and Bessie Dorothy (Kiderlen) Heseman, both
deceased.
He was married June 21, 1997 in Bland, Missouri to Cindy
A. Matlock who survives at the home.
A lifelong area resident, Willard graduated from Bland
High School and from Lincoln University. He served in the United
States Army.
He was a member of the Ryors Ebenezer United Church of
Christ, and a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge in Washington, Missouri.
Willard loved his John Deere tractors, fishing and
spending time with his grandchildren.
He was employed with the Missouri Farm Bureau for over
30 years prior to his retirement in 2005.
Other survivors include: two sons, Caleb F. Heseman of
Gerald, Missouri and Jake Hinton of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri;
one daughter, Katie Hinton of Jefferson City, Missouri. One brother,
Thomas W. Heseman of Springfield, Missouri; one niece, Candace
(Heseman) Borich of Springfield, Missouri; one nephew, Craig Heseman
of Springfield, Missouri; one aunt, Dollie K. Busch of Linn,
Missouri and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Katie Rosena
Heseman in 1988.
Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at
the Morton Funeral Home in Linn, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6,
2006 at the Morton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert A. Baur
officiating.
Interment with military honors followed at the Wollam
Cemetery in Gasconade County, Missouri.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the
Morton Funeral Home, Linn, Missouri.
Bernice Myrtle Lenox
Bernice Myrtle Lenox (nee Kopp) of St. James, Missouri
was born June 15, 1925 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of
Bernhard Kopp and Matilda (nee Niere) Kopp and left from this life
on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 80
years, 9 months 15 days.
Bernice was united in marriage to Arthur J. Lenox on
November 20, 1944 at Muskogee, Oklahoma and to this union five
children were born. One son, Larry and four daughters, Darlene,
Kathy, Barbara and Kimberly.
Bernice was a loving daughter, wife, mother,
mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister,
sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend and she will be deeply missed
by all who knew and loved her.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Bernhard
and Matilda Kopp; loving husband, Arthur J. Lenox; three brothers,
Lester, Bernhard and Alvin Kopp; one son-in-law Roy McInturff and a
host of other relatives and friends.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life
are her son, Larry Lenox of Rosati, Missouri; four daughters,
Darlene McInturff of Bourbon, Missouri, Kathy and husband Paul Roock
of Cuba, Missouri, Barbara and husband Edward Neise of Rosati,
Missouri, Kimberly and husband of Donald Brown.
Sixteen grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, relatives and many friends.
Visitation was Sunday, April 2, 2006 from 3-8 p.m. at
the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service 10:30 a.m.
Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri
with Pastor Harrison Brown officiating.
Burial followed at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery,
St. Louis, Missouri. The family was served by Britton Funeral Home,
Cuba, Missouri.
Raymond "Ray" Clarence Matchell
Raymond "Ray" Clarence Matchell of Cuba, Missouri was
born December 1, 1924 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of John
and Elizabeth (nee Rumphel) Matchell and left from this life on
Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 3
months and 22 days.
Raymond was united in marriage to Dorothy Summers on
December 11, 1980 at Potosi, Missouri.
Ray was an iron worker for Alberici Construction Company
in St. Louis, Missouri from 1957 until he retired in 1984.
He was a loving husband, dad, Gramps, brother, brother
in law, uncle cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who
knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and
Elizabeth Matchell; one daughter, Evelyn Hottle; one brother, Joe
Matchell and a host of other relatives and friends.
Those who are left to mourn his passing is his loving
wife Dorothy Matchell of Cuba, Missouri; one son, Raymond II and
wife Sherrie Matchell of Festus, Missouri; three step sons, Jim and
wife Lana Haffer of Steelville, Missouri, Raymond and wife Joan
Haffer of St. Louis, Missouri and Bob and wife Janet Haffer of
Sullivan, Missouri; one step daughter, Mary and husband Charles
Turner of Farmington, Missouri.
One brother, John and wife Marie Matchell of Bolivar,
Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a host of
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, March 20 from 4-8 p.m. at
the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25,
2006 at the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Elmer
Louck officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Ray Matchell III, Blake
Haffer, Dale Turner, Todd Turner, Randy Haffer, Billy Haffer, Walter
King, Otis Free, Lester Vance and Michael Edward.
Burial followed at the Courtois Cemetery in Berryman,
Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Wilbur "Willy" Ransom
Wilbur Lee "Willy" Ransom, 47, of Steelville, Missouri
passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St.
Louis, Missouri. He was born May 21, 1958 in Steelville, Missouri.
Willy was raised by his loving parents, Virgil Elmer and
Mildred Louise Dicus Ransom who preceded him in death. His
biological parents were Roy and the late Ruth Harmon.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Emery Harmon
and wife Gloria of Steelville, Missouri, Dean Harmon of Cuba,
Missouri, Paul Harmon and wife Sue of Steelville, Missouri, Janis
Cox of Steelville, Missouri, Larry Harmon and wife Misty of
Cherryville, Missouri, Johnnie Ransom and companion Laurie of
Steelville, Missouri, Ron Caron and wife Glenda of Cuba, Missouri,
Bonnie Haffer and husband Charles of Steelville, Missouri, Janet
Chandler and husband Cleo of Steelville, Missouri, Sidney Ransom and
wife Ceclia of Steelville, Missouri; one special nephew, Daniel
DeClue; other nieces and nephews; cousins; aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Caron and
his biological mother, Ruth Harmon.
Willy loved fishing, swimming, singing with Danny, and
he liked to help out around the house. His favorite foods were
cheeseburgers and bananas and drinking (beer) "rootbeer" from a
bottle.
Funeral services for Wilbur Ransom were held Friday,
April 7, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville,
Missouri with the Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
CD music of "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Brad Paisley
was played. The reading of memories of our brother written by Bonnie
Haffer was read and the song "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" was sung by
all with Danny DeClue leading the song. Closing music of "Go Rest
High on a Mountain" was sung by Jerry Beers.
Serving as casketbearers were Jim and Dale Young, Alan
and Bill Dicus and Joe and Jerry Hardin with committal prayers and
burial in the Steelville Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the care of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
