MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 17, 2019 Dennis Wayne Bosworth Dennis Wayne Bosworth was born in 1942 to Dorris Berlin and Mabel Helen (Gordon) Bosworth in Dayton, Ohio and passed away Monday April 1, 2019 at the age of 76 years. In 1960 he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Xenia, Ohio as a Cadet Corps Major. He enlisted in the US Army and served two tours, including Qui Nhon, Vietnam as a Platoon Leader during the war. He was awarded the Bronze Star and completed active duty at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He married Carol Ann Coy in St. Louis, Missouri in 1965, where they resided until 1979. Dennis attended St. Louis Community College at Meramec, Harris Stowe State University and Webster University, where he obtained Bachelor of Elementary Education and Master of Arts in Teaching-Science degrees, respectively. He taught fifth grade (Science focused) and middle school English and history for more than 30 years altogether in four school districts: Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District, Missouri, Crawford County R-II Schools (taught in Cuba for 10 years), Cuba, Missouri, Meramec Valley R-III Schools, Pacific, Missouri and Dayton, Ohio Public Schools. He retired in 2001. During his career, he continued to serve his country, joining the Missouri National Guard in 1979 and being promoted to First Lieutenant. Dennis later became Company Commander of his unit at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, the 35th Engineer Brigade in 1987. He achieved a final rank of Major before separating from the military after nearly 19 years of service. In retirement he joined daughter Crissy and son-in-law Ken in relocating to Fox Cities, Wisconsin, then to Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Larry and Berlin. He is survived by sister, Sonya (Bosworth) Ernst of Dayton Ohio; brother, Edward Bosworth of Escondido, California; son, Dennis Jon Bosworth of Union, Missouri; daughter, Crissy and husband Ken Zitka of Old Hickory, Tennessee; granddaughter, Taylor Bosworth of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends.. Memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Sgt. Stanley "Tim" Cunningham Sgt. Stanley "Tim" Cunningham was born Tuesday, February 17, 1942 and passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 17 days. Sgt. Cunningham was retired from the City of St. Louis Police Department after over 31 years of loyal service and then 11 years with the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, retiring as a Detective Sergeant. He is survived by his wife of over 31 years, Naomi (nee Jeffords) Cunningham; children, Kimberly (Richard) Cartee, Debra (David Roberts) Cunningham and Butch (Sarah) Jeffords; nine grandchildren; brother, Jeff and wife Mary Kay Cunningham; other relatives and friends. Georgia Mae Dalen Georgia Mae Dalen (nee Coffman) of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, February 4, 1953 in Steelville, Missouri to George and Flora M. Wilkinson Coffman and passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 4 days. Georgia married Tomas E. Dalen on June 19, 1996 in Steelville, Missouri. She began working in February, 2009 as a caregiver for the Attending Angels of St. Clair, Missouri. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Steelville, Missouri. She adored her pet dog, Daisy. Georgia was very active and enjoyed working in her yard also, with her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Flora Coffman; and sisters, Delores Coffman and Wilma Zachritz. Tina Edgerton Tina Edgerton (nee Tresslar) of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday, December 13, 1955 in Manchester, New Hampshire and passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 19 days. in Iowa. She had accepted the Lord early in life. Tina was raised by her grandparents and her aunt with her brother She had been a Crawford County resident for over 30 years. She married Roy Dennis Edgerton and they worked as over the road truck drivers for years, even owning their own trucking business. Her hobbies were sewing, playing Yahtzee nearly every night with her dear friend Lynette, watching westerns and older thrillers and baking. She was preceded in death by her biological parents; her grand- parents; her aunt who she knew as her mom, Agnus M. Tresslar; her husband, Roy Edgerton; and her brother, Mark Tresslar. She is survived by her step son, Steven Edgerton of Hartville, Missouri; special friends, Lynette Pounds and James "Sonny" Paxton, both of Steelville, Missouri; goddaughter, Kourtney Schilling of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Richard Wayne Hill Richard Wayne Hill of Cuba, Missouri was born July 19, 1934 and passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Carmen Erline Medlin Carmen Erline Medlin of Sullivan, Missouri was born on December 4, 1937 in Lamar, Missouri to Earl and Thelma (Rose) Frogge and passed away on January 19, 2019 at the age of 81 years. She attended and graduated from Lamar High School. She married Gerald Medlin on August 18, 1956. They established and successfully ran Ditch Witch in Sullivan, Missouri until retiring in January 1989. Carmen was a member of Sullivan Christian Church and was very nvolved. She enjoyed meeting with The Ambassadors group and helping with various church activities. She loved to sing, travel and cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Thelma Frogge; and one brother, Wayne Frogge. Eddie Gene Schmidt Eddie Gene Schmidt of Sullivan, Missouri was born on July 28, 1928 at Elmont, Missouri to Charles Henry and Maude Alice (Blankenship) Schmidt and passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at the age of 90 years. He attended Miller School and graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1945, where he was the class president. As a young man, Eddie Gene went to work for Modern Garage for a time. He then entered the United States Army, where he served in the 82nd Air Borne and was stationed at Fort Bragg. After his military service, he returned to work at Modern Garage. Eddie Gene married Verna May Dace on November 14, 1953. In the spring of 1954 Eddie Gene and his brother, Harold, purchased Modern Garage. In 1982 Eddie Gene and Verna May bought Harold's share in the business. In 1994 Eddie and Verna sold the business to their son and his wife, Danny and Sandy Schmidt. This allowed Eddie Gene to focus on farming and cattle. Eddie Gene's faith was the foundation of his life. He was saved and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri. Eddie Gene and Verna May, along with their family, spent many summer vacations at their cabin in Canada. They also enjoyed playing pinochle with their friends. In his younger days, Eddie Gene was active with the local Khoury League Baseball, and served as treasurer for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maude Schmidt; brothers, Russell Schmidt, Earl Schmidt, Hadley Schmidt, Harold Schmidt, Roscoe Schmidt and Jimmie Dean Schmidt; an infant sister; and additional sisters, Ava Lindsey Owens, Anita Cartwright and Ruth Stevens.
