MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 19, 2001 Richard Donald "Dick" Bouse Richard Donald Bouse was born Sunday, July 8, 1934, a son of the late John James Bouse and Maggie Belle (Sites) Bouse. Dick entered eternal rest from his home on Hwy. AA in Steelville, Mo., Thursday, April 12, 2001, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 4 days. On February 23, 1963, Dick was united in marriage to Jane Wyatt at the Cuba United Methodist Church, in Cuba, mo. Two sons, Donald Kirk Bouse and Michael Richard Bouse were added to this union. Dick and Jane have enjoyed over 38 years together. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Bouse and Luther George Bouse, one sister, Betty Jo Bouse, and three brothers-in-law, Buster Hewkin, Jerry Winer, and Armin Ayers. Dick served his country in the United States Army from March 1957 to January 1959. He retired from Brown Shoe Company where he was in equipment maintenance. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Jane Bouse of the home; two sons Kirk Bouse and wife Linda of Steelville, Mo. and Mike Bouse and wife Paula of St. James, Mo. Five brothers, Chuck Bouse, Pete Bouse, and Tom Bouse and wife Ruby, all of Cuba, Mo., Ron Bouse and wife Joyce of Steelville, Mo. and Jack Bouse and wife Julie of St. James, Mo. Three sisters, Verna Ayers of Steelville, Mo., Eileen Winer, of Hope, Arkansas, and Vera Hewkin of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Bouse, Hallie Bouse, and Mary and Lee Counts, all of Steelville, Mo. One grandson, Drew Michael Bouse; four step-grandchildren, Ashley Watson, Reba Watson, Timothy Shoemaker and Aaron King; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Richard Donald Bouse lay in state 3-9 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, in the Britton Chapel with Dr. Cardis Bryan officiating and Rev. Jim Stearns assisting. Musical selections were provided by pianist Joyce Bouse, and vocalist Rick Bouse, and Sandy and Jeff Wilson. Committal prayers and interment were in Fairview Cemetery, Butts, Mo. Serving as pallbearers were Brad Bouse, Brock Bosue, Jeff Bouse, Rick Bouse, Tommy Bouse, and Randy Turnbough. Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Cecil Lee Hudson Cecil Lee Hudson was born in Arkansas Thursday, December 31, 1925, a son of the late William Hudson and Maudie (Anderson) Hudson. He entered eternal rest at his home on Long Spring Road, Steelville, Mo., Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 10 days. On December 8, 1964, in St. Louis, Mo., Cecil was united in marriage to Joyce Hurley. They have enjoyed over thirty-six years together. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Pete Tilley. Cecil served his country in the United States Army, during World War II. Receiving an honorable discharge January 12, 1947. He was awarded a Victory Medal and an Army of Occupation Medal. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, Joyce Hudson of the home; four sons, Kenneth Hudson and wife Kathy of Leasburg, Mo., David Hudson and wife Donna of St. Charles, Mo., Terry Hudson, and Tony Hudson and wife Karen, all of Steelville, Mo.; three daughters, Vivian and husband Jim Hohn of Colorado, Marilyn and husband Wade Wilson, and Carolyn Bridges, all of Pevely, Mo. One brother, Louis Hudson and wife Wilma of St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters, Estelle and husband Bob Smith of Fairlane, Mo., Mattie Tilley of Bloomfield, Mo., Ruth and husband Leroy Mason of Florida; twenty-three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Cecil Lee Hudson lay in state 4-9 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, in the Britton Chapel with Rev. A. F. Roberdes officiating and Rev. Harvey Buckley and Rev. Ron Evans assisting. Musical selections were provided by Finis Barr. Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Mo. Full military honors were provided graveside by the Western Area Military Funeral Honors program. Norma Lee Turnbough Norma Lee Turnbough nee Scott of Lee's Summit, Mo. was born on September 16, 1926 at Butts, Mo. to the union of Ashley Thomas "Boden" Scott and Pearl Daisy Scott nee Campbell and passed away on April 5, 2001 at Greenwood, Mo. at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 19 days. On November 8, 1947 Norma was united in marriage to Carl W. Turnbough. Two children, Kevin and Carla were born to this union. They were happily married until Carl preceded her in death. Norma was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Kate McArthur, Velma Showard, Iva White, Audrey Goulson, Betty Lollar Martin and Nadine Usery (Harmon). She lived for many years in Florissant, Mo. area and worked as a beautician for 25 years in the St. Louis area until she retired and moved to Lee's Summit, Mo. to be near her family. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving daughter Carla Turnbough Brown of Lake Winnebago, Mo.; one son Kevin Turnbough of Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren Jennifer Lynne Brown, Kathryn Lee Brown, Thomas Addison Turnbough, Sanna Elizabeth Turnbough and Claire Norene Turnbough; daughter-in-law Cindy Van Gelder Turnbough; brother Leo Scott; two sisters Mona Strothcamp and Collen Goebel; brother-in-law Rev. Luck Turnbough; sister-in-law Naomi Turnbough Campbell; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Norma Lee was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Memorial services were held April 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Mo. Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. Elsie Mae Vangilder Elsie Mae Vangilder nee Miller of Cuba, Mo. was born on April 1, 1908 at Leasburg, Mo. to the union of William Jackson Miller and Martha Jane Miller nee Graddy and passed away on April 12, 2001 at Cuba, Mo. at the age of 93 years, 11 days. On May 8, 1954 Elsie was united in marriage to Joe Vangilder at Platt City, Mo. They were happily married until Joe preceded her in death on September 30, 1996. Elsie was also preceded in death by her parents, one son James Reiner, three brothers and two sisters. She attended the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Leasburg, Mo. Elsie was a life long resident of Crawford County. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her two sons Robert Reiner and wife Inez and Walter Reiner; three daughters Loretta White and husband Joe, Christina Copling and husband Robert and Barbara Niedbalski and husband Gene; daughter-in-law Helen Reiner; 32 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Elsie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Elsie Mae Vangilder nee Miller was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. where funeral services were held on Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Thomas officiating. Interment was in the Lickcreek Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Franklin Leo Ware Franklin Leo Ware was born Monday, August 11, 1919, at Cuba, Mo., a son of the late Robert Earl Ware and Margaret "Maggie" (Eliston) Ware. He departed this life Monday, April 2, 2001, at his home on White River Road, Cherryville, Mo., at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 22 days. On April 1, 1942, at Steelville, Mo., Franklin was united in marriage to Fannie Marie Lea, daughter of Eddie and Pearl (Collier) Lea. They have been blessed with five sons and one daughter. The day before his death was their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, James Ware and wife Hester and two sisters, Alice Ware (at age two years) and Eva and husband Herb Stewart, sisters-in-law Clio Mrieta Ware, Gladys and husband Floyd Green. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, Fannie of the home; five sons and one daughter, Jessie Leonard Ware of Bourbon, Mo., Curtis Leo Ware and wife Grace, Virvine George Ware and wife Martha, all of Cherryville, Mo., Judy Marie and husband Jim Loveless of Cuba, Mo., William (Bill) Franklin Ware and wife Marilyn of Steelville, Mo.; and Lloyd Wayne Ware and wife Jackie of Cherryville, Mo. One brother Kenneth Ware and wife Dorothy of Davisville, Mo.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Mildred Pyatt of Cuba, Mo., Lorene and Albert Martin of Steelville, Mo.; nineteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Franklin Leo Ware lay in state 3-9 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Harry White officiating. Musical selection were provided by Carol and Bob Coleman. Committal prayers and interment were in Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. Honoring their grandfather as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Shannon Ware, Chance Reeves, Curtis Lee Ware, Rodney Ware, Travis Ware, Randy Ware, Cody Ware, Scot Ware, Mike Ware, Shawn Ware, Jeffrey Ware, Robbie Ware and Clayton Reeves.
