MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 19, 2017 Lorene Eunice Dunn Lorene Eunice Dunn (nee Willhite) of Washington, Missouri, formerly of Dillard, Missouri, was born February 26, 1923 in Dillard, Missouri to Corbett Lethel and Hessie Elizabeth Turnbough Willhite and passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 16 days. She married Burrel Lee Dunn and to this union four sons and two daughters were born. Lorene was an accountant for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. At 40 years of age, she went back to school receiving her associate's degree in accounting. For her enjoyment, she loved music and books. She spent many hours reading and was a collector of records. She was preceded in death by her parents, Corbett and Hessie Willhite; brother, Radis Willhite and wives Christy and Geneva; and three sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Nunn and husband Dulaney, Muriel Turnbough and husband Delmer and Myrtle Adelee Willhite. She is survived by four sons, Randall Dunn of Washington, Missouri, Richard Dunn and wife Connie of Springfield, Missouri, Daniel Dunn and wife Elaine of Fenton, Missouri and Lawrence Dunn and wife Becky of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Robyn Dunn of Washington, Missouri and Kimberlee Dunn of Cuba, Missouri; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Mike Hill officiating. Special music of "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" was played by Dawn Girard and sung by Dawn Girard, Chris and Felicia Girard. Neva Hill read the 23rd Psalm and Craig Dunn shared special memories. Committal prayer and interment were in the Sellers Cemetery, Dillard, Missouri. Lawrence Everett Earney Lawrence Everett Earney of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday, February 16, 1943 to Everett and Anna May Gunter Earney and passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 29 days. Lawrence began playing musical instruments at age four. He was a professional musician from age 16 on, playing in bands which involved traveling throughout the United States and Europe. He played in the Don Hinton Band and Joe Sun's band, both out of Chicago, Illinois. He performed with the Joe Sun Band on the Austin City Limits television show in Austin, Texas. He was friends with the Oak Ridge Boys, the Statler Brothers, Ray Pillow, and several other famous musicians. One of the local bands he played in was The River Band out of Owensville, Missouri. He had his own band called L.D. Stamp Special Delivery. He also performed on a St. Louis television station. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Anna Earney; brothers, Cliff (Faye) Earney, Delmar (Memory) Earney, Raymond (Estrellita) Earney, Maurice Earney and baby Donnie Earney; sisters Fern Meiser and Bonnie Turnbough; and brothers-in-law, Cecil Stites and Lawrence Turnbough. He is survived by his children, Mark, Johnny and Angela Earney, all of Tennessee; sister, Pearl Etta Stites of Steelville, Missouri granddaughter, Tonya Earney of Tennessee; other relatives and friends. Michael Paul Goehri Michael Paul Goehri of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, was born Thursday, October 26, 1967 at St. Louis, Missouri to Sidney D. Goehri and Barbara Terrill House and passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the age of 49 years. Michael worked as a courier in St. Louis, Missouri for many years before becoming disabled 15 years ago. Michael enjoyed swimming, water skiing, hunting and just being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his step father, Leonard House. He is survived by his mother, Barbara House of Cuba, Missouri; four sisters, Lisa Marie Goehri and wife Julie Whitworth of St. Louis, Missouri, Lisa An and husband Tim Ettinger of Cuba, Missouri, Captain Lou Ann and husband Asmir Catic of Germany and Jackie and husband Jeff Sansone of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, Lance and wife Lisa House of Camdenton, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Mark and wife Kim Terrill of Wildwood, Missouri, Doug and wife Kathy Terrill of Wildwood, Missouri, Kathy House of Cuba, Missouri, Linda House of St. Louis, Missouri and Ann and husband Allen Rabbermann of Oakville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Edwin William Howald Edwin William Howald of St. Louis, Missouri was born in Steelville, Missouri on January 21, 1928 to Frank and Jane A. Cain Howald and passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 19 days. On January 3, 1971, he married Miriam Gose. Edwin served his country in the U.S. Army. He earned his Bachelor's degree in education from Southwest Missouri State University (MSU) and a Master's degree in Education from Missouri University in Columbia. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in St. Louis, Missouri where he worked with the prison ministry. He taught school for a few years in the elementary and junior high level in St. Louis, Missouri. Edwin retired from the St. Louis Division of Employment Security. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jane Howald; wife, Miriam in 1987; his brother, Arthur Howald and wife Susie; and niece, Katherine Kenagy. He is survived by his nephew, Kent Howald and wife Betty Ann of Steelville, Missouri; great nieces and nephews, David and Liz Howald, Jonathan and Cassie Howald, Sean and Jordan Kenagy, Allison Kenagy and Trenton Kenagy; other relatives and friends. Ophelia "Fee" Parkinson Ophelia "Fee" Parkinson of St. James, Missouri was born to Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Dekaria on May 20, 1924 in Jamestown, North Dakota and passed away on April 9, 2017 at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was the oldest of three children. Her dad worked for the railroad handling the baggage cart and her mother worked at a local restaurant. She would walk 14 blocks to and from school four times a day. Fee said that they would all go home for lunch because they were too proud to have a cold brown bag lunch. Their mother would have a hot plate waiting on the stove for them each day. While a teenager, Fee got a job as a soda jerk at a local cafe in Jamestown. She graduated from high school and lived there until the age of 18 when she joined the Women's Air Corp. She joined the Army. Back then you had to be 21 for a woman to join, so her dad had to give permission and sign the paperwork. She was stationed at Wright Patterson Field in Dalton, Ohio as a File Clerk. While there she met her husband of 50 years, Walter Parkinson. After Walter and Fee got out of the military, they moved to New Hampshire to start a diary farm. In the process of running a diary farm for 20 years they also found time to have three children. She loved working on the farm. Due to her husband's health they retired and moved to Missouri in 1986. After the death of her husband in 1995, Ophelia became a Senior Companion for the Missouri Veterans Home. She volunteered for almost 20 years. She became a resident of Missouri Veterans Home in 2005, but she still continued to volunteer her time by giving support to other veterans. She was preceded in death is her parents, Martha Poepotle and Antoney DeKaria. She is survived by two sons, Tony Parkinson of Vienna, Missouri and Bill Parkinson and wife Stephanie of Concord, New Hampshire; daughter Jane Corlissand husband David of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 10-10:45 a.m. on April 13, 2017 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. John William Plank Jr. John William Plank Jr. of Cook Station, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 26, 1938 to John William Plank Sr. and Juanita (McBride) Plank and passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017. John enjoyed life to the fullest, he was a proud Mason and Past Master. He enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing. John really loved living a farm life, he had goats, cattle and honey bees. If he really liked you he would give you his last jar of honey, if he didn't, he wouldn't even sell you a half of a pint. In his younger years John worked for 7-Up Bottling in St. Louis, Missouri. He ran his own plumbing shop. He went to work in the oil fields of Wyoming, drove all over the country in the Trucking Industry before coming back to Missouri where he spent the rest of his working career installing land lines for United Telephone. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Sr. and Juanita Plank; brother, Ronald Ervin; sister, Patricia Henrietta; uncles, Carl and Bill McBride, and Ervin Plank; and aunts, Betty McBride and Madeline Plank. Laura Jane Studdard Laura Jane Studdard (nee Bridgeman) was born August 29, 1935 at Berryman, Missouri to Willie Calvin and Opal Milburn Bridgeman and passed away Saturday, April 8, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 10 days. Laura Jane married Lawrence Franklin Studdard, Sr. on November 1, 1952 in Pea Ridge, Missouri. Laura Jane attended the Living Christ Holiness Church at Ebo, Missouri. She was a dedicated mother and wife who took care of her family spending time cooking, canning and making salt-brine pickles which everyone loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Opal Bridgeman; husband, Lawrence Franklin Studdard Sr. in 2016; one brother, Jesse Bridgeman; two sisters, Marie Mercer and Joyce Clonts; son-in-law, James Robb; three brothers-in-law, Tracy Studdard and wife Violet, Charles Studdard and wife Marie and Harold Studdard; and three sisters-in-law, Zelda Bailey and husband Robert, and Frances and Rilla Studdard.
