Raymond Roland "Bud" Cobine
Raymond Roland "Bud" Cobine of Steelville, Missouri was
born Wednesday, July 17, 1912 in Edwardsville, Illinois, to the late
Edward Arthur Cobine and Mary Pauline Krupka Cobine and departed
this life at his home Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the age of 92
years, 8 months and 27 days.
Raymond married Margaret Harshbarger January 18, 1931 in
East St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two sons were born.
Raymond and Margaret made their home together for 67 years before
her death January 17, 1998.
Raymond was a carpenter by trade and he and Margaret
lived in Woodriver, Illinois, 30 years before moving to Steelville,
Missouri in 1967. He even worked as a carpenter around Steelville,
Missouri after retiring working with the Stephens and Hatcher crew.
Raymond accepted the Lord a number of years ago and was
a member of the Assembly of God Church in Woodriver, Illinois.
However he attended a number of churches in the Steelville area the
last being the Pea Ridge Church in Sullivan, Missouri. He was very
generous with his time and money helping spread the gospel around
the world. He especially enjoyed his mission trip to Mexico.
Raymond loved the farm and enjoyed hunting and fishing,
gardening and riding his tractor around the farm.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife
Margaret, seven brothers, two sisters and his brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his two sons
Roland David Cobine and wife Phyllis and James Robert Cobine and
wife Dixie, all of Roxana, Illinois. Sisters-in-law Virginia Secrest
and Leta Harshbarger, both of East Alton, Illinois; niece Margie
Grove of Michigan.
Seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, other
relatives and many friends, all who will fondly remember and sadly
miss him.
Visitation was held Friday, April 15, 2005 from 6-8 p.m.
at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri and Saturday, April
16, 2005 from 9-11 a.m. at the Paynic Funeral Home, East Alton,
Illinois.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April
16, 2005 at the Paynic Funeral Home.
Burial was in the Forever Valley View Cemetery,
Edwardsville, Illinois.
All arrangements were under the care of the Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri and Paynic Funeral Home in East
Alton, Illinois.
Edward Joseph Dunn
Edward Joseph Dunn of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away
Friday, April 15, 2005 at the age of 86 years.
Mr. Dunn was born in St. Louis County on August 19, 1918
to the late Edward Joseph Sr., and Matilda (Albright) Dunn. On
December 27, 1941 he was married to Emma Jane Comfort at Glendale,
Missouri and to this marriage seven children were born, of which a
son, Harry, preceded him in death.
Mr. Dunn honorably served his country during WWII with
the US Navy and saw action in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. After his
discharge he settled in the Bourbon, Missouri area and later became
employed with the Crawford Electric Cooperative.
He retired after 35 years of service to the company; 15
years of which he was office manager. He had a reputation of being
an honest man who people trusted and was very likable. He was known
as a man who worked hard and one who could get the job done.
He loved his family and the time spent with his many
grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a member of the
American Legion, Bourbon Post No. 81.
He is survived by his wife Emma of the family home; four
sons, Richard and wife Beveleen of Springfield, Missouri, Patrick
and wife Judy of Rolla, Missouri, David and wife Charlotte of
Bourbon, Missouri and Paul and wife Faith of Wittmann, Arizona.
Two daughters, Kathleen Summers and husband Jim of
Bourbon, Missouri and Susan Treece and husband Earnest of Leasburg,
Missouri; a daughter-in-law Janice Dunn of the state of Tennessee.
Nineteen grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, other relatives and
friends.
Along with his parents and son, He was preceded in death
by two brothers, Christopher and William Dunn and by two sisters,
Loretta Dunn and Elizabeth Blondin.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April
18, 2005 from the First United Methodist Church in Bourbon with
interment following in the Hill Cemetery.
Visitation for Edward Joseph Dunn was held from 4:30-9
p.m. Sunday evening at the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon and on
Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the church.
American Legion memorial services were conducted at 7
p.m. Sunday evening under the auspices of Legion Post 81 of Bourbon.
Russ Mullen
Russ Mullen, son of Florence (Walden) and the late Henry
J. Mullen, was born on September 14, 1943, in Cuba, Missouri and
entered into rest on April 15, 2005, in Rolla, Missouri at the age
of 61 years, 7 months and 1 day.
Russ was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 27
years as a Master Chief. He was also known for his woodworking and
was a Master Craftsman.
Russ was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his
surviving family: wife Maureen of their home, mother Florence Mullen
of Cuba, Missouri. Five sons, Scott Mullen of Cuba, Missouri, Tim
Mullen and wife Melanie of Memphis, Tennessee, Greg, Michael and
Brian Portell of St. James, Missouri.
Five brothers: Delbert Mullen and wife Joann of Cuba,
Missouri, Joe Mullen and wife Ree of Union, Missouri, Pat Mullen and
wife Nancy of Cuba, Missouri, Mike Mullen and wife Ann of Montgomery
City, Missouri, Phil Mullen and wife Debbie of Liberty, Missouri.
Four sisters: Mabel Martin of Cuba, Missouri, Shirley
Parker and husband Ken of Pahrump, Nevada, Estell Imes and husband
Bill of Winthrop, Washington, Caroline Glaese and husband Bill of
Spring Hill, Florida.
Four grandchildren: Hayley, Mackenzie, Brandon and
Chelsia and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends of Russ Mullen was
Monday, April 18, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at the James and Gahr Chapel in
St. James. Funeral services for Russ Mullen were Tuesday, April 19,
2005 at 11 a.m. at the James and Gahr Chapel. Interment was in the
Lick Creek Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri, immediately following the
service.
All arrangements were under the direction of the James
and Gahr Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
Mary Emily Negretti
Mary Emily Negretti nee Wathen of Licking, Missouri
(formerly of Sullivan, Missouri), passed away Monday, March 28, 2005
at the age of 79 years 7 months and 1 day at the St. Joseph's
Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Mary was born on August 27, 1925 in Owensboro, Kentucky
to the late Steven Wathen and Rose Morris Wathen.
Mary was married to Louis Negretti on December 24, 1945
in Kentucky. From this marriage two children were born, son William
Negretti of Sullivan, Missouri and daughter Rosie M. Sumpter and
husband Richard Sumpter, Sr.; seven grandchildren and 16 great
grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas
Wathen.
Her hobbies were fishing, crocheting, bowling, bingo and
playing rummy with her friends. She was also a member of the Ladies
VFW Auxiliary in Licking, Missouri and she looked forward to making
a garden in the spring.
Mary's love was her family, children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends.
Mary Emily Negretti nee Wathen was in state at the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were
held on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment was in the
Oddfellows Cemetery, Sullivan, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home, of Cuba, Missouri.
Irene C. Niemeyer
Irene C. Niemeyer, nee Dunlap, formerly of Cuba,
Missouri, was born on January 8, 1912 and passed away March 31, 2005
at the age of 93 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Niemeyer;
loving mother and mother-in-law of Norman (Alice) Niemeyer and
Marilyn (the late Robert) Jones. Dear grandmother of three; great
grandmother of eight and great great grandmother of one. Sister,
sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many and loved by all that
knew her.
Visitation was Saturday, April 2 from 11-11:30 a.m. at
the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, 1215 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis
with the funeral service at 11:30 a.m.
Entombment was at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutchens
Mortuary Service.
Tessie Geneva Pyatt
Tessie Geneva Pyatt, nee Coplin, passed away April 9, 2005,
at Barnes Jewish Medial Center, St. Louis, Missouri, at the
age of 67 years, 7 months and 18 days.
Tessie was born on August 21, 1937, at Huzzah, Missouri,
a daughter of the late Esco Coplin and Laura (Medley) Coplin. She
was raised in Bismarck and Steelville, Missouri.
On November 27, 1954 at Steelville, Missouri, she was
united in marriage to Leo Pyatt. Two sons and four daughters were
born to this union. They celebrated 50 years together in November
2004.
Tessie gave her life to Jesus Christ on September 1968
at Lookout Church in Davisville and she was baptized in the Huzzah
River in Dillard, Missouri on November 24, 1968. She was a member of
Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle in Sullivan.
She had just recently found a new hobby in crocheting.
She enjoyed family cookouts and reunions and watching soap operas,
but most of all she enjoyed going to church and taking care of her
flowers. She'll be missed by everyone who knew and loved her,
especially her family.
Tessie is survived by her husband, Leo Pyatt of the home
in Bourbon, Missouri; her children, Janice and husband Benny
Hammock, Roger Pyatt and fiancee Crystal Stroup, all of Bourbon,
Missouri; Randy Pyatt, Ellen Dixon and Sherri Pyatt and fiancee
Shawn Searle, all of Sullivian, Missouri; Pam and husband Ron
Patterson of Stanton, Missouri.
Three sisters, Bonnie and husband Pearl Hollingshead of
Bourbon, Missouri, Connie Mercer of Sullivan, Missouri, Shirley and
husband Arthur Maier of Booneville, Missouri. Two brothers, Douglas
Coplin of Bourbon, Missouri and Billy Coplin of Sullivan, Missouri.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Junior Britton of
Sullivan, Missouri, Marie Cooper of S. Roxana, Illinois, Erma
Anderson of Chandler, Oklahoma, Claud and Mary Pyatt, Garland and
Linda Pyatt all of Cuba, Missouri, Kenneth and Helen Pyatt of
Owensville, Missouri and Mary and Lester McBenge of Steelville,
Misouri.
Twenty-two grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Esco and Laura
Coplin, sister, Seline Britton, brother, Jerry Lawrence Coplin and
niece Patty Mastin,
She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren and enjoyed when they were all together.
Tessie Geneva Pyatt lay in state 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April
12, 2005, at the Britton Bros. Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri
and at Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle, Sullivan, Missouri, 9 a.m.
until time for the services, Wednesday, April 13, 2005.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13,
2005, at the Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle, Sullivan, Missouri,
with Rev. Joey Bartle and Rev. Harrison Brown officiating. Musical
selections were provided by vocalist Diana Ledbetter and Melissa
Gallaher.
Committal prayers and interment was in Bourbon Cemetery,
Bourbon, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Larry Britton, Dennis
Cooper, Benny Hammock, Ron Patterson, Shawn Searle and Chris
Winebaugh.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
James Alan Sagel
James Alan Sagel of Cuba, Missouri was born on December
26, 1985 at Woodward, Oklahoma to the union of Albert Sagel and
Betty Myeburger Sagel and passed away suddenly on April 13, 2005 at
Cuba, Missouri at the age of 19 years 3 months and 17 days.
James was a member of Holy Cross Church of Cuba,
Missouri.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life
are his loving parents Albert and Betty Sagel, one sister, Christy
Sagel, grandmother, Mary Sagel, grandfather, Sonny Myeburger, great
grandmother, Gertrude Myeburger, uncles, aunts, great uncles and
aunt, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
James was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, good
friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
James Alan Sagel was in state at the Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 16,
2005 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Cuba, Missouri with Father
James Finder officiating.
Interment was in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri. All arrangements under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
