MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 22, 2015 Mary Ellen Dake Mary Ellen (Sewell) Dake was born on July 24, 1930 in Phelps County to Breuer B. and Della C. (John) Sewell and passed away at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Missouri on April 18, 2015 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 25 days. She was united in marriage to Monta Myron Dake on February 14, 1978 in Houston, Missouri. She worked in St. James and Rolla, Missouri for 40 years. She helped teach Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in St. James and served as a greeter at First Assembly in Rolla, Missouri. Mary graduated from John F. Hodge High School in St. James, Missouri where she was an honor student, cheerleader and participated in choir, band and plays. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brewer and Della Sewell; husband, Monta Dake; and one sister, Genevieva Kauffman. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Lee Shockley and Gary Dean Shockley; grandchildren, Ryan, Brant, Stephanie, Chad, and Jacob Shockley; great grandchildren, Ava and Stockton Shockley; other relatives and friends. Private funeral services were conducted at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday, April 20, 2015 with Jerry Baumann officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Shockley, Brant Shockley, Chad Shockley, Gary Shockley, Ryan Shockley and Jacob Shockley. Burial was in the family plot in St. James Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Mary Lou Daugherty Mary Lou Daugherty of O'Fallon, Missouri, formerly of Bourbon, Missouri, was born June 29, 1959 at Washington, Missouri to Patrick Edward and Elsie Mae (nee Littrell) Daugherty and passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at the age of 55 years. Mary spent her life taking care of her children, grandchildren, brothers, parents, family and friends. She had a green thumb and grew the most beautiful flowers and plants. During the summer she enjoyed float trips with the family. Mary spent many hours cooking and baking for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and any other time the family was getting together. She shopped all year long to have Christmas presents for everyone. Mary's whole life was about her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Elsie Daugherty; and one son, Terry Daugherty. Mary Ann Aberer Osborne Mary Ann Aberer Osborne (Conway) of Leasburg, Missouri was born September 19, 1955 at St. Louis, Missouri to Richard Eugene and Mary Katherine (nee Enke) Aberer and passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at the age of 59 years. Mary married Chester L. "Sonny" Osborne on June 21, 1979 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union two children were born. Sonny passed away on October 28, 2007. After a few years Mary met Jerry Conway, and on June 14, 2014 they were married Sullivan, Missouri. Mary started her career, of taking care of others, by working on the ambulance for Crawford County. She then attended nursing school at Park College where she received her RN - Register Nurse Degree. After passing her nursing boards Mary went to work for Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri. She worked at the hospital for many years before moving to Phelps County Regional Hospice.As a child Mary learned to sew, ride a bike, fish and the joys of camping. Mary was an excellent cook and could make and bake anything. She would spend days getting ready for Thanksgiving and her pumpkin pies were the world's best. Mary's favorite holiday was Christmas. She would spend hours shopping, wrapping and preparing for that special day. Mary enjoyed being outdoors and traveling. Mary and Jerry were attending the New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan for the last few years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Eugene and Mary Katherine Aberer; first husband, Sonny Osborne; and one daughter, Gale E. Osborne. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Conway of the home; one son, Steven Osborne of Leasburg, Missouri; two step sons, Jeff Norris of Cuba, Missouri and Jerry and wife Darlene Conway of Cuba, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Eugene "Chris" and wife Emma Aberer of Cuba, Missouri; one sister, Anna Louise and husband Kevin Roy of St. James, Missouri; special nephew, David Roy; special niece, Bridgette Wells; brother-in-law, Joe and wife Denise Baxter of Londell, Missouri; sister-in-law, Brenda Rice of St. Clair, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Rohrer of Bourbon, Missouri was born on April 14, 1944 at Bourbon, Missouri to Opal Walton and Fredrick Alfred Rohrer and passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the age of 71 years. He was a life-long resident of the Bourbon area and attended Bourbon School where he played basketball in high school. Roger enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and honorably served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in England as a Radio Operator. Roger returned to Bourbon, Missouri in 1969 and became employed at the Chrysler Plant in Fenton before working with his father in the Rohrer Insurance and Real Estate Agency. He became a licensed insurance and real estate agent, purchased the business in 1972 and expanded the business by purchasing several more agencies. On July 24, 1971 Roger married Karen Schebaum at Sullivan, Missouri and to this union two children were born. Roger enjoyed working outdoors and refurbishing furniture. He enjoyed camping with his family and watching John Wayne westerns. Roger was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Sullivan and Leasburg, American Legion Post 81 of Bourbon and helped to organize the former Bourbon Rotary Club and served as Secretary/Treasurer during the time it was active. Roger was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Rohrer. He is survived by his wife Karen of the family home; one son, Brian Rohrer and wife Tammy of Sullivan, Missouri; one daughter, Michelle Brewer and husband Jeremy of Lenexa, Kansas; his mother Opal Rohrer of Bourbon, Missouri; two brothers, Robert Rohrer and wife Francie of Bourbon, Missouri and the Rev. Richard Rohrer and wife Birdie of Venice, Florida; five grandchildren, Michalla, Jocelynn and Elijah Rohrer, Nicholas and Elliot Brewer; other relatives and friends. Interment with military honors was in the Bourbon Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. Phillip B. Thomure Phillip B. Thomure of Sullivan, Missouri was born on July 27, 1978 at Memphis, Tennesse to Melinda Mattox and Terry Thomure and passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 14 days. He came to live in Sullivan, Missouri when he was in the second grade. After graduating from Sullivan High School, Phil attended Central Methodist University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He was employed at the Bank of Sullivan for a time but later went into business with his brothers and created Thomure Lumber Company. On September 25, 1999 Phil was united in marriage to Regina Marie Pendergrass at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan and to this union two daughters were born. His civic accomplishments were many as he was a past member of the Sullivan School Board, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club, and the United Way Board. Phil enjoyed hunting and coaching his daughter Reagan's softball team and various family outings. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Phil was baptized and was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, Gina of the family home; two daughters, Reagan and Kate Thomure of the family home; his mother, Melinda Mattox Thomure of Sullivan, Missouri; father, Terry Thomure of Longview, Texas; two brothers, Thomas Thomure and wife Jenniffer of Sullivan, Missouri and Nick Thomure and wife Rachael of Sullivan, Missouri; grandfather, Bus Thomure of Ore City, Texas; parents-in-law, Patricia Smith and husband Robert of St. Clair, Missouri and Robert Pendergrass and wife Dianna of Florissant, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
