Johney G. Bolin
Johney Gene Bolin of Steelville, Missouri, was born June 30, 1935
in Campbell, Missouri to Arley B. and Ina Gertrude (Sanford) Bolin
and passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 at the age of 71.
Johney was united in marriage to Carnie Cunningham on
December 22, 1993 in Steelville, Missouri.
He had worked as a carpenter and also as a metal
polisher. He liked to fish, listening to Cardinal baseball, spending
time with grandchildren and being outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers,
Gerald and Jimmy Bolin and one sister, Beverly Ann Bolin.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Johney Bolin Jr.
and wife Toni of Steelville, Missouri; two daughters, Christina
Randolph and husband Patrick of Steelville, Missouri and Robin
Weidman and husband Brian of Cuba, Missouri; four grandchildren,
Ashley Marie Bolin and Dylan James Randolph, both of Steelville,
Missouri and Logan and Aleyah Weidman of Cuba, Missouri.
Three brothers, Bonnie Bolin (his twin) of Steelville,
Missouri, Wayne Bolin and Don Bolin, both of Kansas; six sisters,
Sheila Thompson and husband Rob of St. Charles, Missouri, Lillian
Lunsford and husband Gary of Rolla, Missouri, Donna Hagood of
Alabama, Peggy Washburn and husband Paul of Illinois, Marsha Davis
of Kansas and Becky Unselt and husband Robert of Kansas.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, 2007 in the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Houser officiating.
Special music of “Daddy’s Hands,” “The Old Rugged Cross”
and “Go Rest High on a Mountain” were played. A reading from his
wife Carnie was read. Memories of Johney were given by his sister,
Shelia Thompson.
Serving as casket bearers were Robbie Thompson, Donnie
Davis, Nick Warren, Bill Smith, Jeffrey White, Estel Carney and Sam
Bolin with committal prayers and burial in the Steelville Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Don R. Chandler
Don R. Chandler of Cherryville, Missouri was born Wednesday,
July 24, 1940 to Autta Chandler and Hettie L. Dotson Chandler and
passed away at his home on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the age of
66 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Don married Fay Cassidy on May 4, 1986 in Steelville, Missouri. He
worked in the maintenance department at Brown Shoe Factory before it
closed. He later worked in timber. He loved the outdoors, hunting,
fishing and riding his 4-wheeler with the grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Claude Chandler
and Norman Chandler; sisters, Lorrie Jelinek and husband Frank and
Donna Fay Willhite; son, Gene Turner; grandson, Richie White.
Brothers-in-law, Bill Caulder, Gene Dicus, Elmer Pyatt, Lawrence
Stricklin, Jimmy Cassidy; father-in-law, Lloyd Cassidy and
mother-in-law, Mary Cassidy.
He is survived by his wife; children, Donna Chandler-Hanks (David)
of Steelville, Missouri and Lisa Wells (Heath) of Salem, Missouri;
daughter-in-law, Sue Turner of Cherryville, Missouri; brother,
Montie Chandler (Etta) of Steelville, Missouri; sisters, Lottie
Pyatt Holland (Ernest) and Betty Coplin (Don), all of Cuba,
Missouri; Rosie Caulder of Rolla, Missouri, Bertha Carrick (Fred) of
Cherryville, Missouri and Geraldine Dicus of Steelville, Missouri.
Brothers-in-law, Lloyd Cassidy (Gay), Bill Cassidy, Perry Cassidy,
Terry Cassidy, all of Steelville, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Doris
Snyder (Glen) of Arcadia, Missouri, Carol Evans (Harry) of House
Springs, Missouri and Sandy Cassidy of Cuba, Missouri; six
grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was Monday, April 16, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the
Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson
officiating. Burial was in the Keysville Cemetery, Keysville,
Missouri.
Pallbearers were Rodney Cassidy, Donald Turner, Steven Evans, David
Hanks, Brian Dicus and Perry Cassidy Jr. Honorary pallbearers were
DJ Hanks and Harry Evans.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Velma R. Fife
Velma R. Fife (nee Ray) of Leasburg, Missouri was born
Tuesday, March 28, 1922 to the union of James F. Ray and Alice (nee
Halbert) Ray and passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Sullivan,
Missouri at the age of 85 years and 24 days.
She was united in marriage to C.C. “Duby” Fife, Sr. on
March 4, 1942 at Rolla, Missouri and to this union four children
were born.
Velma worked for Cuba Shoe Company for many years and
during this time she traveled after work to Rolla to go to Beauty
School. After finishing school Velma worked as a hairdresser for
over 30 years in the surrounding area. Her favorite past time was
spending time with the people she loved most, her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband;
one daughter, Mary Ann Fife; one grandson, Jeff Fife; one great
grandson, Conner Fife; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Fife; four
brothers, Wilbur, Howard, Bert and wife Bernice and Len Ray; two
sisters-in-law, Carol Ray and Margaret McKinney; four
brothers-in-law, Fred R. and wife Volla Fife, Jess and wife Lisa
Fife, Alfred Fife and Willard and wife Virginia Fife and her
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred W. Fife and Elizabeth (nee
Clements) Fife and other relatives and friends.
She is survived by three sons, Junior and wife Sherry
Fife of Bourbon, Missouri, David Fife of Leasburg, Missouri and Tom
and wife Jean Fife of Leasburg, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; many
great grandchildren; four sisters, Nannie King of Leasburg,
Missouri, Mildred and husband Sylvester Westrich of St. Ann,
Missouri, Gertrude and husband Jim White of Mississippi and Mary
Alice Land of California; one brother, Curtis Ray of Leasburg,
Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Colleen Ray and June Fife and a host
of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 5-8 p.m.
at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service was at 11 a.m.
Monday, April 23, 2007 at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with James
Delacourt officiating.
Special songs for the service were “Amazing Grace” and
“In the Garden.” Grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial at Lea
Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Grace Elizabeth Kottwitz
Grace Elizabeth Kottwitz was born in Rosamond, Illinois
on January 8, 1918, the daughter of Edwin John and Millie Doris
(Wallace) Gruen, and passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Frene
Valley Healthcare South in Owensville, Missouri at the age of 89
years.
She married Albert R. Kottwitz on December 30, 1945 in
Nokomis, Illinois.
She was a floor person for shoe manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter,
Betty Ruth in infancy and a brother, Willis Gruen.
She is survived by children, Bonnie Brown and husband
David of Owensville, Missouri, Berta Carpenter and husband Dan of
Chesterfield, Missouri, Janet White and husband Mike of Tulsa,
Oklahoma and David Kottwitz of Owensville, Missouri.
Brothers, Harold Gruen and wife Elaine of Goleta,
California; Pat Gruen and wife Gloria of Taylorville, Illinois,
Elmer Gruen and wife Linda of Pontiac, Illinois, Floyd Gruen and
wife Phyllis of Decatur, Illinois; sister, Ruth Roth and husband
Glenn of Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren and three great
grandchildren.
Services were at the Woollam Methodist Church, Woollam,
Missouri on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jackie
Asher officiating.
Burial was in the Woollam Cemetery, Woollam, Missouri.
Henry Calvin Kramme
Henry Calvin Kramme was born in Bem, Missouri on
September 3, 1924, the son of Henry A. and Ida E. (Tayloe) Kramme
and passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Frene Valley Healthcare
South in Owensville, Missouri at the age of 82.
He married Laverna E. Bock on August 23, 1947 at St.
Peter’s United Church of Christ in Owensville, Missouri.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a
member of the VFW Post #6133, Owensville Fire Department and
Owensville City Cemetery Board. He was a sales and service clerk for
an appliance store in Owensville, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Earl
and Milford Kramme and two sisters, Esther Brandenburger and Elma
Ritterbusch.
He is survived by his children, Eileen Rhodes of
Owensville, Missouri, Dennis Kramme and wife Billie of Marthasville,
Missouri, Dale Kramme and wife Tina of Owensville, Missouri, Denise
Bohl and husband Kenton of Owensville, Missouri.
Sister, Mabel Crook of Plano, Texas; sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law, Minnie Piofcyk and husband Louis, Velma Koepke,
Esther Bock, Raymond Bock and wife Mildred, and Fern Kramme, all of
Owensville, Missouri.
Grandchildren, Brian Diestelkamp and wife Julie,
Michelle Patke and husband Jeff, Joshua Kramme and wife Carrie,
Caroline Cattinari and husband Mario, Nick Kramme and wife Sheri,
Mary Kramme, Matt Kramme and fiancée Nicole Winistoerfer, Vincent
Bohl and Blake Bohl.
Great grandchildren, Hailey and Breanna Diestelkamp,
Donovan, Dante and Mateo Cattinari, Theodore Krummel, Ashton and
Ayden Kramme, Kaitlyn and Kaden Patke, Seth and Jade Scheidegger.
Services were held Friday, April 20, 2007 at the
Gottenstreoter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Kevin
Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Owensville City Cemetery,
Owensville, Missouri.
Hattie Schlottach
Hattie Malinda Schlottach was born August 26, 1916 to
Walter and Augusta Kottwitz Miller and passed away April 12, 2007 at
Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville, Missouri at the age of
90 years.
On February 1, 1941 she married Charles Schlottach at
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a
homemaker and a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in
Owensville, Missouri.
Preceding her in death were her husband; brothers, Roy,
Arthur and Mike Miller and three brothers in infancy; and a sister,
Florence Scheel.
She is survived by four nephews, Lonnie Miller and wife
Carolyn, Larry Miller, Malvern Huebner and wife Frances and Roger
Young; two nieces, Shirley Boyd and husband Richard and Doreen Will
Shirely Judd.
Funeral services were held at Gottenstroeter Funeral
Home in Owensville, Missouri on Sunday, April 15 with Rev. Kevin
Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Owensville City Cemetery,
Owensville, Missouri.
