MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 28, 2004 Ronald Charles Blanc Ronald Charles Blanc of Cuba, Missouri, was born on September 11, 1928 to August Blanc and Julia Gremaud Blanc in Menfro, Missouri. He passed away at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital on Monday, April 12, 2004 at the age of 75 years. Ronald served his country honorably in the United States Army. He later married Lucy Word on September 15, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas and to this union seven children were born. Ronald worked as a machinist in an electrical company for several years in St. Louis, Missouri. He was always helping others whenever he could. He also enjoyed cutting wood and most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Lucy of the home; his children Mary Anne Blanc of Cuba, Missouri, Belina Schutz and husband Larry, Cary Blanc and wife Mary, Jenny Byington and husband Greg all of St. James, Missouri, Kevin Blanc of Cuba, Missouri. Joe Blanc of Vienna, Missouri, and Matthew Blanc of Topeka, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; one brother Claude Blanc of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters Rosalie Hotop of Perryville, Missouri and Beverly Horn of Illinois; sisters-in-law Margaret Becker and Alberta Blanc, both of St. Louis, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Private graveside services were Friday, April 16, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Blanc Family Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Percy Edward Clover Percy Edward Clover, 87, of Raleigh, North Carolina, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at Raleigh Community Hospital. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Renaissance Funeral Home of Raleigh, 7615 Six Forks Road. Born in Granite City, Illinois, Mr. Clover is the son of the late John George Clover and Julia Elizabeth Woods Clover. He grew up in Missouri and lived most of his life in Michigan. Mr. Clover was a US Army veteran of World War II and retied from General Motors Company after over 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Mr. Clover is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Irene Clover and by a granddaughter, Rebecca Marie Clover. Mr. Clover is survived by his son, Michael J. Clover and wife Peggy of Raleigh, by grandchildren, Julie Elizabeth Clover of Washington, D.C., Sarah Michelle Clover of Providence, RI, John Michael Clover of El Cajon, California, by sister-in-law Mary Isabella Ramsey of Raleigh, sister-in-law Geargia Clover of Steelville, Mo. Leach of Steelville, Mo. was born on Wednesday, November 7, 1917 in Sligo, Mo. to Elmer Leach and Florence Frazier Leach. He passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 13 days. William served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He later married Rose Bryant in Creve Coeur, Mo. on June 3, 1961 and to this union two children were born. William was employed as a truck driver for the city of St. Louis, Mo. After retirement he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golfing, playing music on his guitar and was also an avid reader of the Bible. He made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Cherryville Baptist Church in the early 1970's. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond Leach and Curtis Leach; sisters Virgie Petty, Esther Presley McBride, Annie Hoffert and Maxine McMillen. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Rose of the home; son William E. Leach and wife Linda, daughter Beth Colvin and husband Gary, all of Steelville, Mo.; sisters-in-law Marge Eaton and husband Norman of Steelville, Mo., Berneice Roberts, Chester Bryant and wife Paula, all of Cherryville, Mo., Willard Bryant of Steelville, Mo., Earl Bryant and wife Eileen of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services were Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. with Bro. Roger Silvey officiating. Donna Silvey sang "Come Morning" and "Look For Me." Burial was at Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville, Mo. Pallbearers were Jason Evans, Willie Evans, DeWayne Evans, Gene Roberts, Ronnie Heeb, and Billy Leach. Arthur Charles Oberlin, Sr. Arthur Charles Oberlin, Sr. was born Sunday, May 22, 1939, at Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Arthur Joseph Oberlin and Mary Mae Oberlin (nee Moellero). He departed this life Thursday, April 15, 2004, at his home in Viburnum, Missouri, at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 23 days. Arthur served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of American Legion Post, Davisville, Missouri. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, June Oberlin. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, Beverly Jean Oberlin of the home in Viburnum, Missouri; one son, Arthur Charles Oberlin, Jr., also of the home; one step-son, Bruno Kolb and wife Jackie of Orland Park, Illinois; two step-daughters, Peggy Torres of Chicago, Illinois and Betty Bartoski of Viburnum, Missouri; one brother, Leroy Oberlin of Palos Heights, Illinois; one sister, Rosie Cook and husband Freddie of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at the Assembly of God, Viburnum, Missouri with Pastor Johnny Miller officiating. Burial with full military honors were held 1 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at the Czar Cemetery. Missouri Military Funeral Honors Team from Rolla, Missouri and the American Legion Post of Davisville, Missouri were in charge. Arrangements were entrusted to the direction of Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Woodrow L. Pixley Woodrow L. Pixley of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 1, 1918, in Stoddard County, Missouri to the union of George Pixley and Ida Masters Pixley and passed away on April 19, 2004 at the Cuba Manor at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 18 days. On January 19, 1946 Woody was united in marriage to Mary "Katie" Feen at Union, Missouri. They were happily married for 52 years until Katie preceded him in death on August 17, 1998. Woody was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters. On February 21, 1941 he was inducted into the Army of the United States of America and was honorably discharged on August 3, 1945. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Aleutian Islands. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his daughter Peggy Camper; two sisters Jeanette Voss and Alma Tropf; special friends Bob and Darlene Mullen; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Woody was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Woodrow L. Pixley was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Lathum officiating. Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Elizabeth Sarah Warner Elizabeth (Betty) Sarah Warner (nee Henry), formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born August 23, 1920 near Hutton Valley, Missouri to the union of Ralph J. Henry and Alice Sturges Henry and passed away on April 15, 2004 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 23 days. On August 3, 1940 Elizabeth Henry was united in marriage to Robert Jesse Warner at Holy Cross Church, Cuba, Missouri. Six sons, Robert, Raymond, Charles, Cyrus Timothy, Thomas and Edward and one daughter, Berdie, were born to this union. Robert Jesse Warner preceded Elizabeth in death in May of 1980. Elizabeth (Betty) was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ralph James, Jr. and Howard A. Henry, and one sister Valear (Henry) Malnassy and two sons, Rev. Robert Warner and Charles Warner. For the past 35 years, Elizabeth has resided in Potosi, Missouri and in addition to raising seven children, Betty was variously employed in the shoe factory in Potosi, the Potosi Hospital and as a driver, lastly as the public school bus driver. Due to failing health Elizabeth resided at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home for the past six years. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are four sons, Raymond Warner of Colorado (and wife Kathy), Cyrus Timothy of Colorado (and wife Neida), Thomas of Kentucky (and wife Garnell), Edward Warner of Colorado and Ed's twin sister, Berdie Warner Cox (and husband Denver Cox) of Fredricktown, Missouri and four sisters, Dorothy Henry Felden of Salem, Missouri, Myra Henry of Cuba, Missouri, Ramona (Frances) Henry Bigham of St. Ann, Missouri, and Carol Henry Breslich of Sullivan, Missouri, 24 grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Elizabeth (Betty) will be sadly missed. Elizabeth Sarah Warner was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi, Missouri, Saturday, April 17, 2004, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. when Father George Galovich of St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri conducted the funeral services. Grandson Robert Warner also shared memories of Grandma. Interment to be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with her husband, Robert Jesse Warner. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
