MO Local Obituaries for the Week of April 30, 2003 Paul Carl Bonebrake Paul Carl Bonebrake of Cuba, Mo. was born on July 24, 1932 at Salem, Mo. to the union of Oscar Henry Bonebrake and Daisy Dell (Hagler) Bonebrake and passed away suddenly on April 18, 2003 at his home near Cuba, Mo. at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 24 days. On July 18, 1953 Paul was united in marriage to Jane Jackson at Mt. Vernon, Illinois. One son, Miles, and two daughters, Diana and Linda were born to this union. They were happily married until Jane preceded Paul in death on February 24, 1998. Paul was also preceded in death by his parents and son, Miles Bonebrake. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his two daughters Diana Howard and husband Ronald and Linda Bonebrake; two brothers Bill Bonebrake and James Bonebrake and wife Nancy; three grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Paul was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Funeral services for Paul Carl Bonebrake was held on Monday, April 21, 2003 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Paul Latham officiating. Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. Amelia Emily Hughes Amelia Emily Hughes was born Thursday, July 26, 1906 in Hoboken, NJ to the late Carl Bohl and Amelia Wendt Bohl and departed this life Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, mo. at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 29 days. Amelia married William A. Hughes in 1924 in Chicago, Illinois and to this union one daughter was born. William passed away in 1935 leaving Amelia a young single parent at 30 years of age. She shortly thereafter joined the United States Army, served in two wars, World War II, the Korean War and retiring after 20 years of service. Amelia enjoyed gardening, she loved animals, and she volunteered at the Golden Echoes in Steelville, Mo. for many years and loved to help people. Amelia was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church and attended faithfully giving rides to church to her friends and neighbors as long as her health permitted. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, Estelle Wilber, Bets Kraus, and Caroline Weimer; two brothers, Carl Bohl and Frederick Bohl. Amelia is survived by her loving daughter, Dorida King of Chicago, IL, her grandchildren Jeffrey King of Chicago, IL and Kathy Felten and husband Jim of Chicago, IL, three sisters, Elizabeth Fabian of Chicago, IL, Margaret Murray of Duluth, MN, and Louise Major of Wellington, KS; special niece and nephew Margaret Mills of Fenton, Mo. and Frederick Bohl and wife Jean of Wellsville, Mo.; other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Amelia Emily Bohl Hughes. Visitation was held Monday, April 28, 2003 from 9 a.m. until Funeral service time at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson officiating. Paul Hutson sang Just a Closer Walk With Thee, and In the Garden accompanied by Dorothy Hutson on the piano. Burial was in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. Willard James Klouzek Willard James Klouzek of Cuba, Mo. was born on August 29, 1925 at St. Louis, Mo. to the union of Joseph Klouzek and Edna Sophie Seimens Klouzek and passed away suddenly on April 20, 2003 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center of Rolla, Mo. at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 21 days. On May 19, 1946 Willard was united in marriage to Rose Marie Kamler. Five sons, Ronald, Dean, Dana, Gregory and Russell were born to this union. They have been happily married for 56 years. Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edna Klouzek. On August 28, 1943 Willard enlisted in the Navy of the United States of America and honorably served his country until he was discharged on December 15, 1945. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his devoted wife Marie Klouzek; five sons, Ronald Klouzek and wife Mary, Dean Klouzek and wife Linda, Dana Klouzek and wife Lauralee, Gregory Klouzek and Russell Klouzek and wife Brenda; one brother, Joseph Klouzek and wife Linnea; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Willard was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Interment was in the Mounts Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Briton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Edwin Devound Lefler Eddie Lefler was born Sunday, March 24, 1934, at Huzzah, Mo., a son of the late Joseph Franklin Lefler and Bertha Edith (Gilliam) Lefler. He entered eternal rest April 19, 2003, at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Mo., at the age of 69 years and 24 days. On July 4, 1953, at Cherryville, Mo., Eddie was united in marriage to Mary Howdeshell, daughter of Rose Eldora (Parrett) and Eldon E. Howdeshell. One son was born to this union. They would have celebrated fifty years of marriage this July. Eddie served his country in the Missouri National Guard and United States Army Reserves for nine years. During this time he received the ranks of Sgt. 1st Class. He was a deacon in the Open Door Baptist Church of Overland for forty-six years. He taught Sunday School and Junior Church and when needed he would lead the singing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lathan Lefler and wife Hazel, Haskell Lefler, Clyde Lefler and Freeman Lefler; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald Cooper, Ralph Turnbough, Versal Callahan, Elbert, Treff, Dwight, Kenneth and James Howdeshell. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Mary Lefler of the home in Overland, Mo.; their son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Lefler also of Overland; two grandchildren, Adam Lefler of Columbia, Mo. and Diana Lefler of Clayton, Mo.; two sisters, Madeline Cooper of Viburnum, Mo. and Mabel Turnbough of Ferguson, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Lefler and Beulah Lefler both of Arnold, Mo. Edwin Devound Lefler lay in state 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003 at the Baumann Brothers Funeral Home, Overland, Mo. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Vocalist Larry Sherrill and pianist Geraldine Sherrill provided musical selections. Committal prayers and interment were in Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, Mo. Serving as pallbearers were Eugene, Frank, Jim, Leon, Mike and Roger Lefler. Honorary pallbearers were Aubrey Baker, Kenneth Biggs, Jim Blair, Paul Conaway, Don Crabtree, Jerome Gennaria, Jonathon Hellwege, Noel Howdeshell, Charlie Kennedy, Phyllis Lefler, Richard Price and Curt Wheeler. Walter Glen Luke Walter "Ben" Glen Luke of Cuba, Mo. was born on January 27, 1936 at Taskee, Mo. to the union of Henry Luke and Bertha Dorron Luke and passed away at his home near Cuba, Mo. on April 21, 2003 at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 24 days. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Johnny Luke, one brother, Glen Luke and one sister, Juanita Rodgers. In 1993 he was united in marriage to Betty J. Radosh (Dugan) in Waco, Texas. They have been happily married for nine years. On June 3, 1953 he entered the Navy of the United States of America and was honorably discharged on January 11, 1957. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife Betty Luke; one son, Ronnie Luke; stepchildren, Ronnie and wife Diane, Floyd and wife Lana, Steve and wife Kathy, Patrick and wife Cindy, Brian, Brenda, and Peggy Radosh, Patty Byrne and husband Mike, Paula Fears and husband Kevin, Kathy Rebie and husband Kenny. Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Paul L. Weidman Paul L. Weidman of Doylestown died Friday, April 18, 2003. He was 77. He was the husband of Marion Buckner Weidman. Born October 12, 1925 in Atlantic City, N.J. he was the son of the late Walter L. and Gertrude Flory Weidman. He was a graduate of Quakertown High School. Paul served in the military during World War II. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy Seabees and saw considerable action in the Asian Pacific Theatre. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, as well as many other awards and citations. For most of his working career, he was an HVAC mechanic and technician, having worked for many years for Young and Bowman of Doylestown and the former M. A. Rufe Co. He also had been employed as an HVAC contractor. Paul was a member of the Artisians, Jenkintown Chapter 81 and generously volunteered his time in helping members of Boy Scout Troop 24 ear their merit badges. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lois Wissmann and her husband, the Rev. Donald, of Leasburg, mo.; a brother, Walter L. and his wife Delores, of Livermore, California; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Weidman of Doylestown; and a sister-in-law, Elinor Buckner of Doylestown. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer Clark and her husband, Charles, of Ardsley, Kristie Buckner and her husband, Kenneth, of Doylestown, Pamela and Erin Weidman, both of Doylestown, and Kimberly, Jonathan and Paul Wissmann, all of Missouri. His son, Barrie P. Weidman and his grandson, B. J. Weidman, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24, 2003 in Doylestown United Methodist Church, Rev. Don Wissmann officiated. Grandchildren, Kim, Jon and Paul brought special music. Jennifer Clark and Kristy Buckner read scripture. Erin Weidman read a poem. Calvin Lee Wright Calvin Lee Wright of Cuba, Mo. was born on September 3, 1946 to the union of Clarence Wright and Alma Higgins Wright at Clanton, Alabama and passed away on April 22, 2003 at Cuba, Mo. at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 19 days. On December 12, 1987 Calvin was united in marriage to Linda Hamilton at Cuba, Mo. They have been happily married for 15 years. Calvin was preceded in death by his father Clarence Wright. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife Linda Wright; mother Alma Wright; two sons, Jeff and Joe Wright; one step-son, Jerry McQuaide and wife Teresa; two step-daughters, Holly Matzenbacher and husband Tom and Lee Seuss and husband Mike; one sister Irene Hayes and husband Ricky; five grandchildren, Stacie Wright, Nathan and Lauren Matzenbacher and Kate and Patty Seuss; other relatives and friends.
