Holt of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Malden, Missouri was born to the union of John W. and Nettie (Welch) Hester on November 21, 1923 in Bloomfield, Missouri and passed away Monday, April 21, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 84 years and 5 months. Mabel was a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed quilting, being a seamstress, flower gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Holt; one daughter, Brenda Sue Holt; three brothers, Ray, Archie and Luther Hester; and five sisters, Beulah Craft, Nola Hartline, Opal Rice, Wilma Powers and Mildred Hester. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon and husband Larry Pilkenton of Cuba, Missouri; two sons, Roy Holt of Cuba, Missouri and Victor Holt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two sisters, Dorothy Carter of DeSoto, Missouri and Frieda Peterson of Cottage Grove, Oregon; seven grandchildren, Gelena, Mallory, Logan, Cory, and Christopher Holt, Andy and Sam Mahaney; 11 great grandchildren, Jessica Leeper, Sammy, Abby, Sophie and Lily Mahaney, Bethany, Ty, Garrett, Jackson, Nicholas and Kaylie Holt; one great great grandchild, Brooklynn Leeper; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral was Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Mace, officiating. Interment Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Charles M. Stack Charles M. Stack of St. James, Missouri was born December 25, 1919 to William and Nancy (Wright) Stack and passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Missouri Veterans Home, St. James, Missouri at the age of 88 years. Charles married Julia Guidicini on June 22, 1941 and went off to war serving his country in the United States Army during WWII. Charles and Julia made their home in Crawford County, near Jakes Prairie, later moving to St. James, Missouri, they had six children. He was a big baseball fan, he loved hunting, country music, raising cattle and farming. He was preceded in death by his wife on December 19, 2002; five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his children, Charles Stack and wife Norma of Mexico, Missouri, Sandra Bax and husband Ted of Columbia, South Carolina, Dennis Stack of St. Louis, Missouri, Dwight Stack and wife Cindy of St. James, Missouri, Doreen Marcum and husband Mark of Kingsport, Tennessee, Irvin (Corky) Stack and wife Kathy of St. James, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Monday, April 28, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service was Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Father David Viet officiating. Interment in the Licklider Cemetery with full military honors.
