MO Local Obituaries for the Week of May 2, 2012 Sophie “Sis’ Bodine Sophie “Sis” Bodine of St. James, Missouri was born in Rosati, Missouri to Ricardo and Maria (Guidicini) Cardetti on February 25, 1919 and passed away April 25, 2012 in Blue Springs, Missouri at the age of 93 years. Sophie was united in marriage to Loren (Bo) Bodine on November 17, 1945 and to this union three daughters were born. They were married for 60 years when he passed away in 2006. Sophie was a very active member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed people and was very fun loving. Sophie was an advocate for those less fortunate, she also worked in the Head Start Program for the St. James School District. She was famous in the community and with her family for her peanut butter fudge, it was appropriately named Aunt Sissy’s peanut butter fudge. The nieces and nephews knew they were in for a special treat when Aunt Sissy was in the kitchen. she was also know for her wonderful pasta dishes that she had inherited from her family who had immigrated from Italy in the 1920s. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Maria Cardetti; her husband, Loren; her brothers, Joseph (Peno), Richard (Bus) and Leo Cardetti and a sister, Anna Donati. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Catherine Linse and husband Dale of Greybull, Wyoming, Linda Turner and husband Ron of Rolla, Missouri, Susan Brawner and husband Jewell of Blue Springs, Missouri; grandchildren, Terra Graham (Jody), Chad Linse, Clay Turner (Carrie), Nathan Turner (Bambi), Lindsay McCormack (Matt), Courtney McDole (Matt), Tyler Brawner, and Dominique Brawner; great grandchildren, Katlin and Hanna Turner, and Austin McCormack; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Monday April 30, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri at 10 a.m. with Father Charles Pardee officiating. Interment was in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary. Kaylor Katherine Boulware Kaylor Katherine Boulware was born eternally asleep to Joseph and Michelle Boulware of St. James, Missouri on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:15 a.m. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Danny Joe Boulware and great grandmother, Anna Williams. She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Michelle Boulware of St. James, Missouri; big brother, Christopher; maternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Williams and paternal grandparents, Brian and Carolyn Ross, all of Rolla, Missouri. Bridgeman of Steelville, Missouri was born January 20, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elmer James and Helen Anne (nee Macks) Lentz and passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her home in Steelville at the age of 86 years. Teri was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Georgia on June 28, 1946 and to this union three children were born. Teri was then united in marriage on November 1995 at Oxnard, California to John “Johnny” A.F. Bridgeman. Teri spent 24 years being a librarian at the Banyan Elementary School and the Sequoia Middle School, which are both part of the Conejo Valley School District in Thousand Oaks, California. After retiring, Teri traveled the world, going to the places she had spent years reading about. She enjoyed the last years of her life living on the farm and watching the cows. But what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Helen Lentz; husbands, Robert “Bob” Georgia and Johnny Bridgeman; one son, Keith Georgia and one brother, Jack Lentz. She is survived by her children, Kimmie and husband Jimmie McAuley of Oxnard, California and Kirk and wife Carole Georgia of Coral Springs, Florida; step son, Don and wife Vickie Bridgeman of Cuba, Missouri; 25 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; special niece/nephew and caregivers, Debbie and Terry Bridgeman of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Bullock of St. James, Missouri was born in Safe, Missouri, on June 15, 1933 to Louis Jackson and Dovie Mae Reynolds Bullock and passed away Saturday April 28, 2012 at Osage Beach, Missouri, at the Lake Regional Hospital as a result of an auto accident. He was 78 years 10 months and 13 days of age. On July 3, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas, Robert was married to Alberta Mae Keeney. Bob was a hard worker, who never missed a day of work. He worked 18 years for International Shoe and worked for Bill Morrison at the St. James Elevator for many years and retired from Schwitzer after 22 years. He loved his family and was visiting his son and his family at the time of his passing. He loved to travel and could always be seen traveling in a new Chevy truck. Many hours were spent going to yard sales and fixing up his purchases and re-saleing them. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dovie Bullock; four brothers, Leonard, Ed, Everett and Lowell (Jack) Bullock and sisters, Ruth Lovelace, Alice Duckworth and Helen Bartle. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alberta Bullock of St. James, Missouri; son, Gale Bullock and wife Lucy of Osage Beach, Missouri; daughters, Kimberly Robinson and husband David of Cuba, Missouri, Roberta Shields and husband Dennis of Rolla, Missouri and Alicea Whitener of Copperas Cove, Texas; sisters, Ida Mae Kinsey and Betty Metcalf and husband Tom both of St. James, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Albert Wesley Garrison Albert Wesley “Wes” Garrison was born September 12, 1943 in Newbern, Tennessee to John Wesley and Mary Clyde DeShazo Garrison and passed away in his Utica, Kentucky  home April 24, 2012 at the age of 68 years. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Nancy Garrison; two brothers, Bobby Joe and Larry Glenn Garrison; and one sister, Rose Simpson. Wes never met a stranger, loved a good joke and possessed a quick wit. A natural leader and businessman, he knew how to motivate people and how to bring out their best qualities. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors, boating, fishing, gardening, hunting and golfing. He was very well known around the dam boils on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. He was known in Utica for having an open garage door policy. If the garage door was open, you could stop in for a visit and wisdom. Garrison’s career began in manufacturing with Chase Bag of St. Louis, Missouri. He joined Advanced Drainage Systems in 1969 and moved into management until his 2007 retirement. He managed nine plants as Regional Manager and was manager of plants during his working career in Browns- ville, Tennessee, Harvard, Illinois, Versailles, Kentucky and Livermore, Kentucky. On April 4, 2012, in recognition of Garrison’s spirit and life-long contributions to A.D.S, two manufacturing scholarships were given under the Honorary Wes Garrison A.D.S Livermore Manufacturing Scholarship Program to two McLean County Kentucky High School seniors each year for the next five years. He was also awarded The Wes Garrison Customer Service Excellence Award that commemorates his 38 years of dedication. This is an annual award given to one of the 53 domestic plants within the A.D.S. network. Garrison was also a member of the coveted A.D.S. Ring Club. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church beginning in 2002. Prior to that he was a member and Deacon of Buck Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Garrison, her husband Dr. Terry Likes, and their daughter Katie of Bowling Green, Kentucky; son, Jimmie Garrison and his two daughters Megan and Maddie of Owensboro, Kentucky; brother, John Garrison; three sisters, Sandy Garrison and Pat Munaco, all of Cuba, Missouri and Gail McWilliams of Fayetteville, Arkansas; other relatives and friends. Agnes Nina Neumann Agnes Nina Neumann nee Niles of Steelville, Missouri formerly of Wauconda, Illinois was born on Thursday, October 24, 1912 in Freeport, Illinois to Cyrus Aaron Nilges Sr. and Maude Fiser Niles and passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 99 years, 5 months and 30 days. Agnes married Benjamin G. Neumann in Yorkville, Illinois on July 21, 1932 and to this union four sons were born. Agnes lived in Wauconda, Illinois for over 50 years. She moved five years ago to Steelville, Missouri to live with her son, Stephen. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, camping, canoeing, hiking and just being outdoors. Another hobby was painting and she even took a college art class to improve her painting. She was “Scrabble Queen of the family” and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and others how to play. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyrus and Maude Niles; husband, Benjamin on October 10, 1951; siblings, Gertrude (Niles) Seaton, Sue (Niles) Gregory and Cyrus A. Niles, Jr.; grandson, Jeffrey Neumann and daughter-in-law, Evelyn (Toulson) Neumann. She is survived by her four sons, Benjamin G. Neumann and wife Jean of Boscobel, Wisconsin, Jack E. Neumann of Milledgeville, Georgia, Jerry M. Neumann and wife Barbara of Birchwood, Wisconsin and Stephen N. JoAnn Yancey JoAnn Yancey nee Brown of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, June 24, 1936 in Day, Arkansas to William Edward and Mary Izora Estes Brown andpassed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 3 days. JoAnn married Cleo Yancey on December 6, 1963 in Oxford, Arkansas. JoAnn babysat children in her home for several years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, collecting owls, and especially watching the St. Louis Cardinal ball team. She was baptized at First Baptist Church, Oxford, Arkansas and was later a member of Center Point Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Brown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Almon and Eunice Yancey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Morris and Juanice Yancey, Bill Merwin, and Thearl Yancey and daughter-in-law, Connie Boyer Brown.
