MO Local Obituaries for the Week of May 3, 2017 Ida Pearl Brown Ida Pearl Brown of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of New Madrid, Missouri, was born January 2, 1925 in Marston, Missouri to Elisha Dellon and Hattie Mozella (Newton) Nanney and passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the age of 92 years. Pearl was united in marriage to Willard Wilson Bailey on September 16, 1939 and he passed away September 16, 1990 on the day of their 51st wedding anniversary. Several years later she married a good friend, Russell Nelson Brown. He passed away February 1, 2012. Pearl was one of 11 children and she grew up in southern Missouri were she picked cotton as a young adult. She loved to help and serve others. In her last working years, she worked for home health where she helped and cared for many people. For several years she organized a monthly dance group at the Eugene Northern Hall in Rolla, Missouri. She loved to play Bingo and she never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. She attended the Church of God in St. James, Missouri and First Community Christian Church in Rolla, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha and Hattie Nanney; 10 siblings; son-in-law, Charles Tankersley; and oldest daughter, Jeanette Clay. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Tankersley of Rolla, Missouri and Beverly Romine and husband Larry of St. James, Missouri; son-in-law, Jim Clay of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Carrie Ash, Jimmy Clay Jr., Kathy Daniels, Michelle Camenisch, David Schowengert, Courtney Burns and Jeremy Romine; and 13 great- grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. A Celebration of Life was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Don Carson and Dale Wands officiating. Pallbearers were Jimmy Clay Jr., Jeremy Romine, Cody Romine, Kyle Daniels, Dallas Taylor and Mitchell Burns. Internment followed in the St. James Cemetery. (Storz) Conway on April 1, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the age of 61 years. David was a longtime employee of Loren Cook Company in Springfield, Missouri, a member of Steel Workers Local #15485 and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, listening to Elvis and going to the dirt track to watch Jesse Stovall race. Friedmann (nee Wideman) of Steelville, Missouri was born to Harry and Mae (Aders) Widemann on Saturday, February 18, 1939 in Desoto, Missouri and passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 9 days. Thelma was the oldest of four children and grew up in both the town and the First Baptist Church of Desoto, Missouri. She accepted Christ as her Savior in that church and was baptized on May 27, 1951 by the pastor Dr. Earl Fordehase. She married Robert "Bob" E. Friedmann on June 3, 1961 at Desoto First Baptist Church. Her hobbies included genealogy, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. She loved life and traveling the country. She had been in every state except Alaska and Hawaii and also had been to Canada, Germany and Equador. She always wanted to learn to play a piano. When a friend, Judy Knight, moved to Mexico, Missouri, she graciously gave Thelma her piano and she learned how to play a few songs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mae Wideman; parents-in-law, Clifford and Ethelyn Friedmann; husband, Robert "Bob" E. Donna loved gardening, baking, needlepoint and playing cards. She loved her family above all. Mary Virginia Tankersley Mary Virginia Tankersley, of Rolla, Missouri was born on February 3, 1948 in Sikeston, Missouri to Willard Wilson and Ida Pearl (Nanney) Bailey and passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 69 years. On December 25, 1968 she married Charles F. Tankersley. Mary retired from both United Telephone Company and Wal-Mart. She made many dear friends while working over the years. She loved to talk and her family would often find her sharing stories with complete strangers. Mary shared the passion that Charles had for old cars and they spent much of their time together traveling to car shows and events with the Cave State Cruisers. Mary was a member of First community Christian Church and she loved her close knit church family. Mary had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and she was so proud of them. In her younger years you could always catch her wearing shirts with each of their names on it. Mary longed for the day that she would be reunited with Charles and she is rejoicing now. She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Bailey on September 16, 1990; her mother, Pearl Brown on April 23, 2017; her husband, Charles Tankersley on November 10, 2013; and a sister, Jeanette Clay. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Daniels and husband Terry of Rolla, Missouri and Michele Camenisch and husband James of Edgar Springs, Missouri; sister, Beverly Romine and husband Larry of St. James, Missouri; three brothers-in-law, Jim Clay of St. Charles, Missouri, James Tankersley and wife Debbie of Belle, Missouri and Jack Tankersley and companion Kathy Huskey of St. Charles, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Alexis Taylor and husband Dallas, Joshua Camenisch and wife Lindsey, Kyle Daniels, Nicole Camenisch and James Camenisch II; other relatives and friends. Robin Turnbough Robin Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri was born November 18, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri to Cubert Audry and Loretta Martin Turnbough and passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 50 years, 5 months and 9 days. Robin loved life even through her disabilities. She loved people and the time they spent with her. Robin enjoyed being outdoors with her friends on walks and appreciating the trees, flowers and all of her surroundings. You could find her most days sitting and looking out the front windows and just waiting for the chance to visit with someone. One of the most important things she loved was listening to the music on her radio every day. Robin will definitely be remembered as a very warm and happy lady and will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cubert and Loretta Turnbough. She is survived by her one sister, Rhonda Turnbough of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Wade Turnbough and wife Shelly of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; three nephews, Quinton, Ryan, Jonathan; two nieces, Emily and Brittany; other relatives and friends. Graveside services were held at noon on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Steelville Cemetery with Bill Bennett officiating. Memories were shared by friends and former Gibbs Care staff.
