Bayless, 61, St. Joseph, Mo. died Thursday, April 13, 2000 at his home. Born February 22, 1939 in Cuba, Mo. Moved to St. Joseph, Mo. in 1996, from Kansas City, Mo. He attended Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, in Rolla, Mo. Graduate of Pacific University of Los Angeles, with a Bachelors Degree in Applied Science and Electrical Engineering. He was an electrical engineer for World Span, in Kansas City, Mo. He retired in 1998. He held Real Estate & Broker Licenses in Kansas and Missouri. Member of Unity Temple, Kansas City, Mo. Endowed Member and Past Master of Weston Lodge #53, A.F. & A.M. Dual Member & Past Member of Brotherhood Lodge #269, St. Joseph, Mo. 32 Scottish Rite Mason; Molla Shrine Temple; Legion of Honor; Hi-Twelve Club; Certified Instructor of Masonic Ritual, Sub-Certificate #3; Pony Express Chapter; American Legion #359; member of Show Me Appaloosa Horse Club. He served in the Navy and Air Force (2 tours in Viet Nam, where he was partially disabled). After that, he rejoined the Navy and was stationed at the Nevada Test Site. He held first Class Communications FCC License. Held private pilot's license. He also was a PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver. He married Sue Bridgeford Sollars in 1990 at the Unity Temple on the Plaza, in Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel C. and Martha E. (Ferris) Bayless; one sister Diana Bishop; one infant son. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Kendall, Excelsior Springs, Mo. and Debbie Bell, Liberty, Mo.; and one step-daughter, Susan Elizabeth Sollars, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, John and Ralph Bayless, Cuba, Mo.; one sister, Donna Jacques, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; one aunt, Elsie Rutz, Cuba, Mo.; four grandchildren. Services were held 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000 at Heaton Bowman Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Masonic Services, under the auspices of Brotherhood Lodge #269, at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 16, 2000. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph, Mo. Pallbearers were provided by Weston Lodge #53 and Brotherhood Lodge #269, A.F. & A.M. Graveside Military services under the auspices of American Legion Post #359. Ruth Olive DuLaney Ruth Olive Wyland DuLaney was born Wednesday, November 7, 1917 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late Frances J. Weyland and Martha Katherine Keller Wyland and departed this life Sunday, April 16, 2000 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo. at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 9 days. On March 17, 1937 in St. Louis, Mo. Ruth married Ralph DuLaney and to this union four children were born. Ruth accepted the Lord early in life and was a member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Ralph. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her loving children Willard DuLaney and wife Frances of Cuba, Mo.; Robert and Mary Lou DuLaney of Fredericktown, Mo.; John and Linda DuLaney of Affton, Mo. and Beverly Avery and husband John of Owensville, Mo. Her brother Frank Wyland and wife Mary of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends, all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Ruth Olive DuLaney. Visitation for Ruth Olive DuLaney was held Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at the Hutson Funeral Chapel in Steelville, Mo. with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson officiating. Valerie Nevels played the Old Rugged Cross and How Great Thou Art. Pallbearers were Robbie DuLaney, Jeff DuLaney, Steve DuLaney, Tony Campbell, Phillip Radford and Bill Parkins. Burial was in the Steelville Cemetery. All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Rev. Raymond Arthur Schondelmeyer, Jr. Reverend Raymond Arthur Schondelmeyer, Jr., age 81 years, of Columbia, Mo., and a former resident of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinic, Columbia, Mo. He was born July 18, 1918, at Houstonia, Mo., the son of Raymond Arthur and Mary Prowell Schondelmeyer, Sr. He was married June 11, 1945, at Lebanon, Kentucky, to Nancy Lee Wade, who survives of the home. He attended school in Pettis County, Mo., and was a graduate of the Houstonia High School, Houstonia, Mo., he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Theology from Westminister College, Fulton, Mo., attended Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where he received his degree in Divinity; then received his Master of Science from the University of Missouri in Rural Sociology. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City, Mo. He had been pastor of several churches in Kentucky, and was the pastor at the Steelville Presbyterian Church, Steelville, Mo., from 1954 until 1964; he then was Director of Ecumenical Research & Planning for the Metropolitan Church Federation in St. Louis, Mo. After he moved to Jefferson City, he was with the Missouri Council of Churches, he has also been interim pastor of several churches in Missouri and Wisconsin. He had also worked with the Habitat for Humanity in Jefferson City. He was also a member of the Lions Club. Survivors include two sons, Dr. R. Wade Schondelmeyer, M.D. of Columbia, Mo., and William Ray Schondelmeyer of Columbia, Mo.; two daughters, Pamela Sue Brown of Ames, Iowa, and Patricia Lee Nekula of St. Peters, Mo.; one brother, Charles E. Schondelmeyer of Manchester, Mo.; two sisters, Barbara Ratcliff of Drexel, Mo. and Virginia Bridges of Independence, Mo.; and ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 26, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. and the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bruce Berry and Rev. Raymond Massey officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Buescher Memorial Home, Tuesday evening, April 25. Irene J. Cowan Irene J. Cowan of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 27, 2000 at the age of 74 yeras. Irene was born August 13, 1925 at Stanton, Missouri to the late Thomas Isaac and Maud Alice (Nettell) Woodcock. She was a life-long resident of the Stanton/Sullivan area and was a graduate of Sullivan High School, Class of 1942. On June 21, 1942 she was married to Elmer E. Cowan at the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan. Irene was a loving wife and mother. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Irene also found pleasure in researching family genealogy. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sullivan. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Cowan, of Sullivan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Jackie Cowan of Sikeston, Missouri and Tim and Karen Cowan of Leasburg, Missouri; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Barney Hunt of Olathe, Kansas and Cindy and Buddy White of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two brothers, Donald Woodcock of Sullivan and Cecil Woodcock of Climax Springs, Missouri; one sister, Donna Lindaman of Sullivan; six grandchildren, Dean and Jennifer Cowan, Jerusha and Joycelyn Hunt, and Lauren and William White; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Cowan was preceeded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Junior and Myron Woodcock. Funeral services were conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, April 29, 2000 from the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan with Reverend Dale Jackson and Pastor Don Woodcock officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Garden, Union, Missouri. Visitation for Mrs. Irene Cowan was held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan. Those who desire may make memorials to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Jason Wilburn Linson Jason Wilburn Linson of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 16, 1930 in Oats, Missouri to the union of Charles and Stella Linson and passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2000 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 8 days. In March 1966 Jason was united in marriage to Jane Baugus and to this union four children were born. Jason was a member of the Covenant Praise Church of God in Cuba, Missouri. Jason is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Rex Linson and one grandchild Haley O'Doniel. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife, Jane Linson of Cuba, MO; one son Fredrick Linson and wife Amy; three daughters Kelly Linson, Patricia Linson, Kimberly O'Doniel and husband Stacey; three grandchildren Devin Linson, Sarah O'Doniel and Cyle O'Doniel; other relatives and many friends. Jason was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and a good friend to all that knew him and will be sadly missed. Jason Linson was in state at the Covenant Praise Church of God of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Wednesday April 26, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Katherine "Kate" Goldie Glore Katherine Goldie Glore, nee Burke, was born Sunday July 6, 1941, at St. James, Missouri, one of eight children to the late Joe Allen Burke and Thelma Ludie Burke (nee Trask). She entered eternal rest Wednesday April 26, 2000, at the Gibbs Care Center, Steelville, Missouri, at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 20 days. On September 17, 1960, Kate was united in marriage to Albert Lee Glore, Jr. To this union one son, Albert Glore, III, was born. They enjoyed over thirty-three years together before his death February 9, 1994. In addition to her husband and parents, Kate was preceeded in death by one brother, John Burke, and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Paul Glore. Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Pam Glore of Steelville, Missouri. Three sisters, LaVerna and husband James Quinton, Glenda Hance all of Cuba, Missouri, Lula Burke and friend Bob Patterson of Steelville, Missouri. Three brothers, Jim Burke and wife Dotty of St. James, Missouri, Joe "Sonny" Burke Jr. of Wisconsin, Leonard Burke and wife Luvondia of Cuba, Missouri; one grandson, Kevin Glore; one granddaughter, Kayla Glore both of Steelville, Missouri. Troy Washington Turnbough Troy Washington Turnbough was born Sunday June 12, 1927, at Dillard, Missouri, a son to the late Emery Turnbough and Litha (Martin) Turnbough. He entered eternal rest Saturday April 22, 2000, in the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 10 days. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Mary of the home in Steelville, Missouri; two sons, Leon Turnbough and wife Debbie of Davisville, Missouri, and Albert Turnbough and friend Gina Allen of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Desi Turnbough of Oklahoma; two step-sons, Joseph Hutcheson and wife Sherry of Indio, California, and Calvert Hutcheson and wife Lez Anne of LaQuinta, California; one step-daughter, Linda Lockett of Steelville, Missouri. Three brothers, Roy Turnbough and wife Helen of Steelville, Missouri, Lawrence Turnbough and friend Bonnie Stephens, Ellis Turnbough and wife Dawn of Davisville, Missouri; Three sisters, Bonnie and husband Dale Welker of Potosi, Missouri, Dorothy Pierce of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rosalene Turnbough of Davisville, Missouri; Brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Carol Snelling and George Snelling all of Omaha, Nebraska, and Vick Austin of California City, California; four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Elnor Thompson; one sister Geraldine Turnbough; one brother, Richard Turnbough; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nellie and James Snelling; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jake Turnbough, Leahman Pierce, Jim Snelling, and Betty Austin. Troy was born and raised in Dillard. He moved to St. Louis in 1942, where he worked as a diesel mechanic for five years. In 1947 Troy moved back to Crawford County where he farmed and worked in the timber business. From 1974 to 1979 he worked as a school bus mechanic for the Viburnum School District. In 1982 he moved to Palm Desert, California where he worked as a Cat Skinner, which is a heavy equipment operator. For seven years Troy built golf courses at PGA West, Marriott, and many others. He and Mary were recently featured in a newspaper article for the Desert Sun, for their many contributions to the community of Palm Desert. In 1989 Troy and Mary returned to Crawford County. Troy was a golfer, hunter, carpenter, and mechanic. He attended First Baptist and Sligo Church. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a husband, father, step-father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and good friend and neighbor. Troy Washington Turnbough lay in state 3-9 p.m. Monday April 24, 2000 at the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday April 25, 2000, in the Britton Chapel with Rev. John Slade officiating. Musical selections were provided by pianist Sharon Hardecke, vocalist Gary Hardecke and Rev. John Slade. Amazing Grace was played on the flute by Joe Hutcheson. Committal prayers and interment were in the Davisvill Cemetery, Davisvill, Missouri. Pallbearers were Dale Hickman, Randy Turnbough, Michael Turnbough, Joe Hutcheson, Henry Martin, Clyde Pyatt, and honorary pallbearer Dale Welker.
