Jerry L. Ash of Cuba, Missouri, was born to George and Elsie (Parker) Ash on
April 24, 1953 in Sullivan, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday,
April 28, 2010 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 57 years.
Jerry was a Chemical Supervisor for the Meramec Group in Sullivan for 33
years. He was an avid golfer, Cardinals and Rams fan, enjoyed making jerky
and barbecuing, detailing cars, playing horseshoes and spending time with
family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elsie (Parker) Ash; one
son, Jeremy Ash; three brothers, Everett, Lloyd and Kenneth Ash; father-
in-law, Ed Conaway; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine S. Ash (nee Conaway) of the home;
three children, Erin and husband Steven White of Sullivan, Missouri, Jason
and wife Casey Ash of Sullivan, Missouri and Jessi and husband Pat Rapert of
Mountain View, Missouri; five grandchildren, Colby Hammonds, Rayna White,
Reagan, Ryan and Reece Rapert; two sisters, Bernice and husband Hilmer Brewer
of Bourbon, Missouri and Pat and husband Bob Conaway of Steelville, Missouri;

Lela Marie Ball
Lela Marie Ball was born in Salem, Missouri on August 25, 1944 to Edgar Malone
and Dorothy (Thompson) Malone and passed away on April 27, 2010 at the age of
65 years, 8 months and 2 days.
To try to sum up Lela in a few paragraphs is impossible. Everyone who knew her
could write their own book with memories, some of which could be printed and
maybe a few that could be left unprinted. We all know she was in charge, and
we also know that her friends were very important to her, and she had many of
them, but the love of her family and the time spent with them was the most
important part of her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Edgar and Dorothy Malone; brother,
Randell Malone; two sisters, Barbara Malone and an infant sister.
She is survived by her children, Joe Chitwood and wife Gail of Seymour,
Missouri, Lisa Lewis and husband Steve of Salem, Missouri, Rhonda McConnell
of Salem, Missouri; brothers, Michael Malone and wife Mary of Columbia,
Missouri, Dennis Malone and wife Patsy of Columbia, Missouri; sisters, Betty
Whitaker and husband Bob of Largo, Florida and Sheila Malone of St. James,
Missouri; grandchildren, Morgan, Bayley, Ronnie, Hunter, Tyler and Adam;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Salem Chapel
of the James & Gahr Mortuary.
Funeral service was Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Salem Chapel of
the James & Gahr Mortuary.
Interment was in the Morrison Cemetery, Salem, Missouri.

Marie M. Baron
Marie M. Baron of Bourbon, Missouri was born to Joseph and Barbara (Gabler)
Walitschek on January 13, 1931 in Osage, Iowa and passed away Friday,
April 30, 2010 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Marie was employed as a hostess the last eight years at McDonalds of Cuba.
She was a devoted parishioner at St. Francis Catholic Church of Bourbon,
Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, word search books,
scratch off tickets, watching old reruns on TV, baking and spending time
with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Barbara Walitschek;
husband, Edward Baron; two brothers, George and Max Walitschek; two sisters,
Barbara Fox, Ella Morgan; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Ted and wife Barbara Baron of Addison, Illinois,
Greg and wife Diana Baron of Bourbon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, seven
great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral
Mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri with Father
James Finder as the Celebrant.
Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Skylar Lee Brooks of Steelville, Missouri was stillborn on Sunday,
April 25, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pam Glore; great grandparents,
Albert Glore, Jr. and Kate Glore.
He is survived by his parents, Jennifer Brooks and Kevin Glore of Steelville,
Missouri; grandparents, Valanna Brooks, Kenneth Brooks and Albert Glore, all
of Steelville, Missouri; great grandparents, Lloyd and Charlotte Earney,
Charles and Jean Brooks, all of Steelville, Missouri.

Zelma Mae Brown
Zelma Mae Brown of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, September 13, 1924 to
Thomas Arlie and Ollie Pearl (nee Malone) Richardson at LaBelle, Missouri
and passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 85
years.
In November of 1938 Zelma was united in marriage to Doy Jones, Sr. and to
this union two daughters were born, Shirley and Sharon Mae. In 1969 Zelma
was united in marriage to Clyde Henry Brown and to this union one daughter
was born, Wanda Lea.
Zelma worked hard all of her life. She was employed at the Midway for
several years, the shoe factory in Cuba (until it closed), a day care center
where she took care of children ages six weeks to one year and she was a
private Nanny for 13 years helping raise three children.
In her younger years she grew a beautiful garden, canned, butchered her own
pork and beef and even found a little time to dance. She was baptized
Baptist many years ago and she enjoyed country western music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Arlie and Ollie “Pearl”
Richardson; both husbands, Doy Jones, Sr. and Clyde Henry Brown; infant
daughter, Sharon Mae Jones; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and
husband Julius Marrill; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and wife Ada
Fern Richardson; one niece, Zelma Marie Miller; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley and husband Bob Enke of Cuba,
Missouri and Wanda Lea and husband Terry Reeves of Cuba, Missouri; step son,
Doy, Jr. and wife Irene Jones of Jerome, Missouri; five grandchildren; four
step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; step great grandchildren; step
great great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Helen Brown, Velva McPherson,
Mamie McCann and Gladys Smart; brother-in-law, Everett Brown; other
relatives and friends.

John Hawkins Cochran, Jr.
John Hawkins Cochran, Jr. was born on October 27, 1935 in Houston, Texas to
John H. Sr. and Genevieve Marion (Young) Cochran and passed away at his home
on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Vichy, Missouri at the age of 74 years,
6 months and 1 day.
John Cochran was united in marriage to Judith Anning in 1956 and to this
union two daughters were born. In 1980 John married Mary Ann Spurling and
adopted Terasa (Siegele) Fadem of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Richard Siegele of
Tulsa, Oklahoma.
John Cochran spent his early childhood and formative years in Houston and
Lubbock, Texas. He graduated high school from St. Stephen’s Episcopal School
in Austin, Texas in 1954. John graduated from Texas Tech University in 1959
in Lubbock, Texas with a BA degree in Chemistry and a BS degree in Chemical
Engineering. He began his career with Sinclair Refining Company at their
Pasadena, Texas oil refinery. In 1963 he embarked on a new career as a
computer systems analyst with the Univac division of Sperry Rand
Corporation. He remained with that company until his retirement in 2000.
In 2003 John and his wife, Mary Ann built their retirement home in Vichy,
Missouri. Since his retirement he enjoyed raising cattle and living in the
rural community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Sr. and Genevieve Cochran.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Vichy, Missouri; daughters,
Dr. Judy Kay Lewis DVM of Phoenix, Arizona, Kitty DeBock of Quinlan,
Oklahoma and Terasa Fadem of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Richard Dale Siegele of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, L. Wallace Cochran of Lubbock, Texas; one
sister, Bonnie Brown of Epswich, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; one
great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Services were Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Forest City Christian
Church in St. James, Missouri with Gene Branson officiating.

Imogene June Crist
Imogene June Crist of Cuba, Missouri was born to Joseph C. and Mayme (Lamar)
Line on June 1, 1923 in Rolla, Missouri and passed away Sunday,
April 25, 2010 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 10 months and
24 days.
Imogene was united in marriage to Edgar H. Crist on November 17, 1941 in
Palmyra, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born.
Imogene was a homemaker and a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge, reading, crossword puzzle books,
but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph C. and Mamye Line; husband,
Edgar H. Crist; one brother, Donald Line; two sisters, Marvine Henrickson
and Mildred Beinlich; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Murray of Georgetown, Texas and
Vicki J. and husband Glen Lewis of Creve Coeur, Missouri; four grandchildren,
Scott L. Murray of Houston, Texas, Cristi L. Wuthrich of Novasota, Texas,
Julie L. Lewis-Lapin of St. Louis, Missouri and Katie M. Murphy of St. Louis,
Missouri; three great grandchildren, Sydney Murray, Finnegan and Ainsley

Max Dwayne Hicks
Max Dwayne Hicks of Birmingham, Alabama was born on January 30, 1959 in
St. Louis, Missouri and passed away April 21, 2010 at the age of 51 years.
Max was a fun loving person and will be missed by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Hicks and one brother, Erik
Edward Hicks.
He is survived by one son, Daniel Hicks; his mother, Lendia Smith of

Everett Lilburn McCauley
Everett Lilburn McCauley of Union, Missouri was born June 30, 1934 in
Berryman, Missouri, to Elmer and Donna, (nee Bridgeman) McCauley and passed
away Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Washington, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Everett graduated from Steelville High School in Steelville, Missouri. He
received his Bachelor Degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City,
Missouri and his Masters Degree in English from Webster University in Webster
Groves, Missouri.
He was a teacher for the Union School District, teaching both Art and
English, for 26 years before retiring in 1998.
He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Church for over 50
years. He had served churches in Leasburg, Missouri and Owensville, Missouri.
Everett attended the Union Assembly of God Church.
He was a member of the Mid-Missouri Fine Arts Society and the Missouri
Retired Teachers Association.
He is survived by his close friend, E. J. Gardner of Union, Missouri; cousins,
Sharon Skaggs and husband Tom of St. Clair, Missouri Earline Abney and husband
Bill of Hillsboro, Missouri, Wilma Stringer of Caledonia, Missouri, Erma
Davison of Hillsboro, Missouri, Margaret Bond of St. Louis, Missouri, and
Frieda Bowers and husband Harold of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and

James McClary
James Elmer McClary of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Sunday, May 4, 1924
in Blanche, Missouri to Robert M. McClary and Verda Morine McClary and
passed away at MO Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday,
April 28, 2010 at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 24 days.
James “Bunk” served his country honorably in the United States Army during
WWII.
He married Martha Lillian Pennock on September 26, 1945 in Cuba, Missouri
and to this union nine children were born.
He retired from General Motors Co., St. Louis, Missouri as an assembly line
worker and was a member of the UAW Local. He also was a member of the
Crossroads Baptist Church, Leasburg, Missouri, VFW, Sullivan, Missouri and
American Legion, Leasburg, Missouri. He enjoyed gardening and listening to
bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verda McClary; wife
Martha; sons, Jimmie McClary and Mark McClary; daughter, Deanna West;
daughter-in-law, Carol McClary; brothers, Gene and Leon McClary; brothers-in-
law, Robert, Lawrence, Rodger, Jesse, Theodore and Lee Pennock;
sisters-in-law, Nellie Rapplean, Daisy Paul, and Delores Pennock; grand-
daughter, Shelly McClary; great granddaughter, Carmen King.
He is survived by his children, Brad McClary of Sullivan, Missouri, Randy

Tracy Lee Miller
Tracy Lee Miller of St. James, Missouri, formerly of the Pacific, Missouri
area, was born Sunday, June 2, 1946 at St. Louis, Missouri to Alonzo and
Julia (nee Milda) Miller and passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at
St. James, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 63 years.
Tracy served in the United States Army from 1965 till 1967 and served one
tour in Vietnam. He served in the United State Army Reserves from 1967
until 1971.
Tracy worked in the asphalt, concrete and construction business on and off
for the last 40 years. He was known to his friends as “Chainsaw.” In March
of this year he remarried the Love of his life, Linda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Julia Miller; two
sisters; five brothers; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Miller of the home; six children, Tracy
Lee Miller, Jr., Lazet Trista and husband Dan Kent, Larry Guy Asbury, Jerry
Dean and wife Sarah Asbury all of St. James, Missouri, Tamra “Tammy” and
Angel Miller; one brother, Richard “Boze” Miller of St. Clair, Missouri;

Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.

Raymond A. Neupert
Raymond A. Neupert was born November 4, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to
August and Frieda (Sieb) Neupert, and passed away April 29, 2010 in
St. James, Missouri at the age of 85 years.
Raymond was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and was a fan of the St. Louis
Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Frieda Neupert; a
brother and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of St. James, Missouri; son, David Nail
and wife Tammy of Pittsboro, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; three great

Gale Elaine Osborne
Gale Elaine Osborne, daughter of Chester “Sonny” Osborne and Mary Ann (nee
Aberer) Osborne was born in Sullivan, Missouri on Monday, March 7, 1983 and
passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at Leasburg, Missouri at the age of 27
years, 1 month and 19 days.
Gale had an amazing smile and her beautiful long hair was always admired.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Chester “Sonny” Osborne, Jr.; step
sisters, Dawn and Maggie Rose Osborne; grandparents, Chester L. Osborne, Sr.,
Margaret Osborne and Richard Aberer.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Osborne of the home; brother Steven and

Daniel Roger Smith was born January 21, 1941 in Buffalo, New York and passed
away April 25, 2010 at Salem, Missouri at the age of 69 years.
On May 18, 1998, Dan Smith and Rozelle Cross were united in marriage.
He enjoyed his employment as a truck driver, classic cars, fishing and
hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeVant Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Rozelle Smith of Salem, Missouri; his mother,
Mona Smith of Buffalo, New York; four children, Susie Smith of Huntington
Beach, California, Linda Crane and husband Billy of Eunice, Missouri, Diana

William “Bill” Gary Wallis
William “Bill” Gary Wallis was born on October 20, 1947 in St. Louis,
Missouri to Andrew “Andy” and Gladys (Lea) Wallis and passed away Thursday,
April 29, 2010 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri
at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 9 days.
Bill grew up and attended school in Steelville, Missouri and graduated from
Steelville High School in 1965. He served his country in the United States
Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971.
He was united in marriage to Susan Walker on June 29, 1992 in Clearwater,
Florida. They made their home east of Mountain Grove, Missouri for the past
five years.
He was employed in the telephone industry for over 40 years. He enjoyed
being outdoors hunting, fishing and especially turkey hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Gladys Wallis; two
brothers, Jerry Wallis and Kenny Joe Wallis; sister-in-law, Peggy Wallils
and a nephew, Nathan Hedrick.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of the home; three sons, Jason Wallis and
wife Reneé of Marshfield, Missouri, Joshua Wallis of Memphis, Tennessee and
Scott Breeden and wife Tiffany of Licking, Missouri; two daughters, Dana
Wallis and Jerome Miller of Obion, Tennessee and Whitney Breeden of Mountain

James Walter Witt
James Walter Witt was born on June 14, 1922, in Washington County to John
and Dora Dilks Witt and died on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at the age of
87 years.
He served in the army during World War II in the European Theater.
When he returned home, he was united in marriage to Ruby Williams on
June 28, 1947 and to this union four children were born.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sullivan, Missouri where he served
as a deacon. He spent most of his working years in construction. He served
two terms as an alderman on the city council.
He enjoyed gardening and always made room for his beautiful flowers. He
also enjoyed woodworking. He spent one week every summer at the Central
States Youth Camp near Patterson and served as a director on the camp board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora Witt; parents-in-law,
Oliver and Ada Mae Williams; an infant son, James Oliver; one brother,
Bruce; two brothers-in-law, Herschel and Melvin Williams, and one
sister-in-law, Shirley Witt.
He is survived by his wife Ruby; one daughter, Nancy and her husband Dale
LaChance of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Paul and his wife Sharon of
Sullivan, Missouri and Tim and Channe of Fordyce, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren;
five great- grandchildren; six brothers, Sam and his wife Fern of Sullivan,
Missouri, Richard and his wife Alice of Waterloo, Illinois, Harry and his
wife Jean of Tacoma, Washington, Charles from Greenville, South Carolina,
Donald and his wife Margie of Warrenton, Jerry, of Cuba, Missouri; one
sister, Josie of Sullivan, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Maxine and Ruth Ann
Williams of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Chapel
of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastors David Phillips and Kirk
Parnell officiating.
Interment followed in the Oddfellows Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan,
Missouri.
