On December 31, 1948 he married Ethel Chambers. Jack was employed as a maintenance supervisor for heating and air conditioning at MS&T for 30 years. He was preceded in death by parents, John and Opal Bailey; one daughter, Rebecca; one son, Dennis; two brothers, Russell Bailey and Fred Bailey and two sisters, Louise Terry and Marie Chambers. Banning of Steelville, Missouri was born November 29, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul and Latta (Compton) Hawkins and passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at the age of 83 years. In 1952 at Pocahontas, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Walter Banning. Norma was a member of the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church of Shirley, Missouri all of her life. She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. Throughout the years, she enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, but most of all she loved being with her family. Theresa “Sis” Bourbon Theresa “Sis” Bourbon of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, November 26, 1923 in Dogpatch, Missouri to Marcella Emma (Torrence) and Alfred Eugene Portell and passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 23 days. Theresa was united in marriage to Donald E. Bourbon on September 28, 1974 in DeSoto, Missouri. Theresa was a very generous woman always giving her time to help others, some would say she lived a lifetime of doing.  She enjoyed playing bingo and quilting.  Her greatest joy was her family and the time they spent together.  She was a remarkable person who will always be remembered for the love and laughter she shared. Jewell Eugene “Gene” Foust Jewell Eugene “Gene” Foust was born November 25, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jewell and Presta Winnifred (Gandy) Foust, and passed away April 24, 2011 in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 68. years Gene was united marriage to Reba (Cleveland) Foust December 9, 2000. He owned and operated M & E Trailer Park in Naples, Florida for many years and was a licensed Florida Real Estate agent.  He enjoyed shooting sporting clays and was the state champ runner up in 1995.  He also enjoyed duck and geese hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Presta Foust and a sister, Mary Frances Foust. Marie Elizabeth Gibson Marie Elizabeth Gibson of Cuba, Missouri was born to Oliver and Ruth (Tayloe) Downes on September 8, 1923 at Bourbon, Missouri and passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 87 years. Marie was united in marriage to Normal “Turk” Gibson on December 6, 1947 at Steelville, Missouri and to this union one son was born. Marie and Turk enjoyed 53 years of marriage together until his death on November 30, 2000. Marie retired after many years of dedicated service at the United States Army Publication Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling with Turk to listen to him sing gospel music, camping, spending time in Florida and all her special times with her dear friend Nadine Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ruth Downes; husband, Normal “Turk” Gibson; son, Thomas E. Carl Gray Carl Gray of Cuba, Missouri was born to Cordell and Hazel (Hicks) Gray on August 10, 1927 in Steelville, Missouri and passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 83. Carl had worked thru the years for St. Louis Ship Yards, Chrysler and later owned and operated Gray’s Auto Sales in Cuba. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and enjoyed being an Evangelistic Minister. In his spare time he enjoyed going to yard sales, tinkering with cars and playing the guitar. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. of Cuba. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cordell and Hazel Gray; one brother Lowell Gray; two grandchildren Kimberly Sue Frederick and T.J. Gray. Frances Adeline Guess Frances “Fran” Adeline Guess of Steelville, Missouri was born September 16, 1934 at Shoal Creek to Wayne and Luettie (Scott) Turnbough and passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 76 years. On December 21, 1963 in Dupo, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Frank Guess. Fran was an active member of the Steelville First Baptist Church and served with many ministries of the church. She was also a member of the Steelville Eastern Star. She was very active in the community and was on the board of Golden Echoes and Gibbs Care Center. She was also director of the Steelville Food Pantry for a period of time. Fran worked for the Division of Family Services as a social service supervisor starting in 1974 and retiring in 1996. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. When Frank was still living, they enjoyed traveling and fishing in their spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Luettie Turnbough; her husband, Frank on December 4, 2004; one son, Frank W. Guess; two brothers, Clarence Turnbough and wife Opal, Glen Turnbough and wife Juanita; one sister, Pauline Walden and husband Walter. Wilma Ilene Harryman Wilma Ilene (Groves) Harryman was born April 10, 1936 in Stone County, Missouri and passed away on March 15 2011 in Springfield, Missouri. Wilma was a writer of Ozark Folklore. She wrote books, poems and songs. One of Wilma’s books can be seen in the Ozark section of Folklore at Lucy Wortham James Library for all people interested in the Ozarks. She is survived by four children and one sister, Avenell Richards of St. James, Missouri. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Old Lampe Church with Pastor Glen Jones officiating. Music was provided by Don and Glenda Parton. Charlotte Laura Jamison Charlotte Laura Jamison, 87, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Muncie, Indiana.  She was born May 17, 1923, in St. James, Missouri, the daughter of William and Ella Wellman Furling, and attended school in St. James. Throughout her life Mrs. Jamison lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois and Indiana. From 1963 to 1970 she lived in Knightwtown, Indiana, where she and her husband, Harrison Jamison, were dorm parents at the Soldier and Sailors Home.  She was also a senior companion in nursing homes. Mrs. Jamison loved to bake and had won several ribbons at the state fairs for the pies she had baked. Surviving are three sons, Terry Jamison and wife Cheryl of Jasper, Texas, David Jamison and wife Berneice of Muncie, Indiana, and Patrick Jamison and wife Tonya of Glen Poole, Oklahoma; sister, Annine Snelson of Rolla, Missouri; brother, William Furling and wife Dolores of Springfield, Illinois; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and two sisters, Jane and Amelia. There was no calling hours or funeral services. Private burial in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Jerry Wayne Mahurin Jerry Wayne Mahurin was born July 22, 1955 in Dent County, Missouri and passed away April 21, 2011 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 55 years. On December 31, 1977, Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Sue White. Jerry was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.  He enjoyed reading, hunting and was a hard worker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Eula (Callahan) Mahurin; two brothers, William (Bill) and Lawrence, Jr. and two sisters, Beedia Precord and Wilma Mahurin. He is survived by his wife, Linda Mahurin of Salem, Missouri; mother-in-law, Maxine White of Salem, Missouri; two brothers, Elmer Mahurin and wife Brenda of Salem, Missouri and Eugene Mahurin and wife Sharon of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Robinson Sr., of Gray Summit, Missouri, was born October 4, 1942 in Wellston, Missouri to George and Lillian nee Dixon Robinson and passed away April 8, 2011 at the age of 68 years. He received his education from the Wellston School District. On March 27, 1965 he was married to Barbara Carter in University City. He was employed by GE and Bristol Meyers and was a member of the Delhi Baptist Church in Cuba, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Robinson; son, Buddy Robinson, brother, George Robinson and two sisters, Mary Alice York and Joyce White. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Robinson of Gray Summit; one son, Robert Robinson Jr. and wife Venita of Cuba, Missouri; three daughters, Rhonda and husband Dale Wilkes of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Dawn Martin of Gray Summit, Missouri and Patricia Hedrick of Cuba, Missouri; sister, Jacklin and husband Bob Shuman of Amarillo, Texas; 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Lillian Warnhoff-Crow Lillian Warnhoff-Crow of Cuba, Missouri was born October 23, 1932 at Chillicothe, Missouri to Edward and Florence (nee Lightle) Walker and passed away April 28, 2011 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 78 years. Lillian was united in marriage to Robert Henry “Bob” Warnhoff on March 22, 1952 and to this union one son and two daughters were born. Lillian and Bob owned and operated the Sinclair Gas Station in Cuba for many years and it was during that time Lillian was the Cuba taxi cab driver. Later they owned Sinclair Bulk Oil Company and then the Sears Catalogue Store of Cuba. Lillian also spent many years as a cosmetologist. In 1993 Lil retired after many years of serving the residents of Cuba and surrounding areas. She was a truly dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Cuba for many years. Lillian was united in marriage to Ellsworth “Red” Crow at Eureka Springs, Arkansas on November 29, 1995. They made many trips to Bennett Springs to camp and fish, spent winters in west Texas and enjoyed traveling and camping in their RV. Lillian spent hours doing ceramics, porcelains and she could see something and paint it on a canvas beautifully. She took an art class one time and the teacher told her she should be teaching the class. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Warnhoff, Sr.; one son, Robert (Bobby) Warnhoff; grandson, Torey Burr; one brother, William A. “Billy” Walker; other relatives and friends. Wood formerly of Bourbon, Missouri was born at Potosi, Missouri on August 18, 1925 to Monty and Minnie Skiles and passed away Thursday at the Meramec Nursing Center, Sullivan, Missouri age of 85 years. Mildred grew up in the St. Louis area and later married Emmett Wood. She was employed as a secretary for the SAFECO Insurance Company. In 1999, Mildred moved to Bourbon, Missouri.  She enjoyed reading and loved her pets, “Blackie” and “Cindy.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Monty and Minnie Skiles; husband, Emmett; sisters, Beverly LaRue and Dorothy Skiles;  brother, Jack Skiles and a grandson, Nathan Isbell. She is survived by a daughter, Janice Isbell and husband Robert of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Fred Skiles of Piedmont, Missouri; two sisters, Maxine Decker of Piedmont and Helen Fritzle of St. Louis; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
