Adams of Bourbon, Missouri was born on August 24, 1921 to Alexander and Bertha Summers Adams in Hinch, Missouri and passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 94 years. At the age of 21, Walter enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country from October 1942 until October 1945. On February 1, 1946 he married Evelyn West at Bourbon, Missouri and three children were born to their union. Walter and Evelyn had recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. Walter was employed by the Post Office and Paramount Cap after his service to his country. He worked for the Bourbon School system as a maintenance man and retired from there after many years of service. Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially bird hunting and taking vacations. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81 of Bourbon, Missouri and a dedicated member of First Southern Baptist Church in Leasburg, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Bertha Adams; one brother, Richard Adams; one sister, Nellie Bacon and husband Ross; a sister in infancy; son-in-law, Roger Talbot; brother-in-law, Walter West and wife Eleanora; sisters-in-law, Virginia Ransom and husband Richard and Nadine Byrd Waisner and brothers-in-law, Claude Byrd and Roland Waisner. Jim served in the United States Army and he received the Sharpshooter's Badge. He worked for the local telephone company. He loved to turkey hunt. Earl Wesley Burch Earl Wesley Burch of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, May 5, 1930 at St. Francois County, Missouri to James Wesley and Helen Marie (nee Rost) Burch and passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Earl served in the United States Army from 17 September 1952 till 16 September 1955. Earl earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the OS Service Medal. In 1976 Earl retired as the Liquor Agent for the State of Missouri after 20 years of dedicated service. After retiring Earl owned and operated the Dairy Cream in Cuba, Missouri from 1976 till 1982. Earl was a member of the Cuba VFW Post #7147, Cuba American Legion Post # 522, Sullivan Fraternal Order of Eagles #3781 and was the past president and charter member of the Cuba Optimist Club. Earl enjoyed hunting quail in his younger years and spent his evenings playing Gin Rummy with Shirley. Earl spent hours watching sports on TV and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's baseball fan. As a social and active supporter of higher education, Jim's participation in ROTC programs at University of Central Florida and Washington University as well as his contributions to the Rolla School Board are among a few of his accomplishments. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army and served 15 years with Advancia as an Executive Director. Jim's cooking talents and holiday meals are legendary. Jim enjoyed traveling to visit his grandchildren, golfing, Missouri Sports and creating memories with Kathy and his dog, Dude. She was 1954 graduate of Union High School. On November 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Harvey Farris and to this union two sons were born. His hobbies included fishing, mushroom hunting, golf, music and collecting comic books as well as baseball cards. He enjoyed watching movies and football. Toby was a 49ers fan, like his father. Richard "Dick" Earl Pennock Sr. Richard "Dick" Earl Pennock Sr. of Bourbon, Missouri was born January 17, 1939 in National City, California and passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 77 years. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1958 and from O'Fallon Tech and Rankin Technical College in 1969. On January 28, 1960 he married Sara "Margie" Margurite Jordan in Sullivan, Missouri. Richard was employed as a Machinist with Ramsey Corporation for 26 years and loved his work to the extent that he literally whistled while he worked. He retired as a Tool & Die Maker from Kaydon Corporation in 1992. Richard spent his spare time pursuing his passion in his machine shop where he performed gun repairs and building most anything out of metal. After retirement, he spent most of his time tending to the farm he grew up on. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Annie Pennock; son, Richard E Pennock Jr.; and brothers, William and Roland Pennock. Robin was a respiratory therapist, and she worked in the Missouri Baptist Hospital-Sullivan, Missouri and in a hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri. Seal of Indian Hills Lake in Cuba, Missouri was born on December 20, 1928 at St. Louis, Missouri to Vernon and Margaret (Tozer) Seal and passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 87 years. He was raised in the St. Louis area as a child and later graduated high school. Mr. Seal then attended what was then known as the Rolla School of Mines and then traveled west to California to attend UCLA. On November 4, 1950 he married Lois Schlothauer at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union four children were born. William honorably served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Corporal. He was awarded an Over-Seas Bar, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star. After his discharge, he worked in Civil Engineering for at time but later became employed at the American Can Company and retired from there after 30 years. He was an active member of the Sullivan Amateur Radio Club, enjoyed flying model airplanes and also was a NASCAR racing fan. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church LC-MS, of Cuba, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Margaret Seal; and his wife, Lois. She was a Cherryville High School graduate and later went on to attend Southwest Baptist College as well as Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri and received her Master's Degree from Southern IL University, Edwardsville, Illinois. She taught school for 30 years and was a member of the MO Retired Teacher Association. She accepted the Lord at a young age and served as Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church in St. John, Missouri and later at what is now known as Carr Community Church in Cook Station, Missouri. She was a member of Winkler Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, gardening, canning, fishing, being outdoors and hunting (especially deer and turkey). Other favorite past-times were traveling, watching sports especially college basketball, and in particular Duke University's team. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Elizabeth Hutson; parents-in-law, Arthur and Ruth Talbert; brother, Rev. Delmar B. She was united in marriage to David Usery. Patricia and John lived in and around the St. James, Missouri area for many years before moving south to Memphis, Tennessee and eventually ending up in Byhalia, Mississippi where they settled in to the community. Patricia joined the Collierville First Pentecostal Church, where she was not only a very active member, but she also taught Sunday School for several years, and was the "go to person" on the prayer chain. She enjoyed the outdoors, mowing her yard and keeping up with the flowers she loved so much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Ellie Spradling; husband, David in 1997; and brothers, Ricky and Joe Boykin.
