Mary Ann loved baking cookies and reading. She spent many hours at the library. She sang in the guitar choir for many years at Sacred Heart Church in Florissant, Missouri. Tim and Mary Ann were involved in TEC Retreats. Over many years, Mary Ann made and donated hundreds of baby blankets to Birthright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy of 58 years; parents; and brother, Charles Ahrens. She is survived by her children, R. Sherlock (Peggy) Campbell, Michael (Christina) Campbell and Dyan (Joseph) Schisler; grand- children, Courtney (Andrew) Stevens, Sean Campbell, Nicholas Campbell, Meagan Campbell, James Schisler, Kate Schisler, Susannah Schisler, Abram Schisler and Abigail Schisler; great grandchildren, Zachary Stevens, Michael Stevens and Madeleine Stevens; sister, Evelyn Archer; sister-in-law, Ann Gilliland; other relatives and friends. Rose Mary Cook Rose Mary Cook of Sullivan, Missouri was born on October 18, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to George and Della (Asher) Mitchell and passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the age of 92 years. She was raised in Webster Groves and attended the Goodall School. Rose raised her family in St. Clair, Kirkwood and Sullivan, Missouri. The family settled in Sullivan, Missouri in 1963, where she remained until her passing. Rose lived a life made remarkable by the experiences and relationships that filled it. She was close with her many brothers and sisters and together they made mischief, laughter and memories. In her youth, Rose excelled in school, danced ballet, loved fashion, went to the movie theater as often as she could, worked hard both inside and outside of the home and attended USO dances. Rose will be remembered for her quick wit, determination and generosity. Rose was skilled at cooking and was well known for her green thumb. She loved flowers, watching birds from her porch, crocheting and reading. Rose was a woman of faith and when her health permitted, she attended Cuba Church of Christ. She lived all stages of her life with remarkable grace and humor. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Benton and husband Kenneth of Sullivan, Missouri, Kathy McCluggage and husband Wayne of Laddonia, Missouri and Becky Orton and husband John of Cuba, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oval Cook; her son, George "Chris" Cook; great great grandson, Chandler Werley; parents, George and Della Mitchell; five sisters, Norma, Nora, Virginia, Juanita and Vivian; and four brothers, Elmer, Willard, Buck and Sonny. Helen Copeland Helen Copeland of St James, Missouri was born April 18, 1928 in St. James, Missouri to Hiram and Nadine Marshall Sewell and passed away April 30th, 2020 at the age of 92 years. She married Cecil John "Tinker Copeland" on June 7, 1947, and they enjoyed 48 wonderful years together. He married Florence H. Erxleben on August 27, 1949 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Gerald worked for Alberici as a millwright for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. After he retired Gerald enjoyed traveling with his wife. Frasure Charles K. Frasure of Mountain Home, Arkansas was born July 13, 1945 in Japan, Missouri to Chester R. and Blanche L. (Merrill) Frasure and passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the age of 74 years. Ken, as he was known to his friends, graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1963. After graduation, Ken joined the United States Marine Corp, where he served in Vietnam for four years. He was a proud Marine who earned two Purple Hearts. Ken married Joyce Jost Knehans in 1968 and they made their home in Sullivan, Missouri. Ken was employed at the Chrysler plant in Fenton, Missouri for 30 years. He loved retirement and enjoyed time spent fishing, camping, hunting, boating, traveling and spending time with his family. After retirement, he and Joyce moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where they were campground attendants for Corp Engineers. After Joyce's passing in 2013, Ken married Emma Bateman Dobyns in 2015. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Frasure; his mother and father, Chester and Blanche Frasure; one sister, Florence; two brothers, Bob and Ray; sister-in-law, Mary Frasure; and brother-in-law, William Jost. Betty Ruth Humburg Jr. Betty Ruth Humburg Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday, December 1, 1940 in Richmond Heights, Missouri to Walter L. and Betty Ruth Duncan Humburg and passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 1 day. Betty was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the St. Louis, Missouri area, but was physically unable to work outside the home. She moved to Cuba, Missouri in 2006 to be near her brother Walter who was her caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Betty Humburg. She is survived by her brothers, Walter and wife Carolyn Humburg of Cuba, Missouri and Paul and wife Cindy Humburg of St. Charles, Missouri; other relatives and friends. No public service was held. McQuillan was born May 29, 1927 to William E. and Bessie Warden Hapgood and passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 1 day. La-Verne married Dr. Walter R. McQuillan on February 10, 1947 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri. "Time well spent leads to a life well lived." This quote embodies La-Verne's strong appetite for life and strength of character. Whether she was out enjoying her time at bingo or sitting enjoying dinner with her family she brought smiles to everyone around her. Even at the end she was making the nurses laugh around her. As she became confined to her bed, her constant companion was her little dog, Baby. La-Verne spent many years working as a house-mom to nursing students at Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She later worked at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville, Missouri. Holidays were filled with excitement, as she spent days baking pies, cakes, cobblers, and cookies. She also empowered her children to face life as it came, never backing down or surrendering but meeting it with strength and courage La-Verne cared for Walter her husband of 58 years until he passed away. Her daughter, Sue, cared for La-Verne until she passed away. She was preceded in death by husband, Walter; her father, William Hapgood; son, Robert J. McQuillan; mother, Bessie Bergman; step father, Elmer Bergman; grandfather and grandmother, William Ratley and Cora Turnbough Ratley; sister, Gloria (Clifford) Boulch Sr.; nephews, Clifford Boulch Jr. and Gary Boulch; and two infant sons, Douglas McQuillan, and Mark McQuillan. Buel Leonard Monda Buel Leonard Monda of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Cuba, Missouri to Walter E. and Nellie Ann (Adair) Monda in rural Crawford County on May 9, 1932 and passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the age of 87 years. He married Mary Edwards on February 14, 1953 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Buel owned and operated Monda's Boot and Saddle for 42 years. He was a people person who never met a stranger and made many lasting friendships though his work. In his free time, Buel enjoyed turning wood on his lathe and was a premier craftsman. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sullivan, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nellie Ann Monda; and one brother, Roger Monda. Rebecca "Becky" Ann Parry Rebecca "Becky" Ann Parry was born on Thursday, October 14, 1954 in Sullivan, Missouri to Robert and Francis Roehrs and passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 15 days. Becky married Anthony "Bum" Parry on December 2, 1978. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, floating and spending time at home with her critters. She was known by many in the area for working at Al's Cafˇ, L&J Liquor and Southside Liquor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Francis Roehrs; and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Rose Parry. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Anthony Parry; sister, Wanda (Harold) Davis; daughters, Jenny Rebecca Parry (Ryan), Amy Leigh Parry (Kenny Patterson) and Allyson Elizabeth Parry; grandchildren, Emmarsen Layne, Madolyn Laylah, Trevour Parry and Lain Grant; best friends, Karen Clay, Valerie Woolsey, Gloria Plank and Kimmie Poling; other relatives and friends. Warren "Gilbert" Sellers Warren "Gilbert" Sellers of Dillard, Missouri was born December 9, 1933 in Dillard, Missouri to Ira and Alpha Cottrell Sellers and passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 in his home at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 19 days. Gilbert was a 1951 graduate of Cherryville High School and lived his entire life on the family farm. He married Geraldine Skaggs on April 23, 1955 in Hernando, Mississippi. Gilbert retired from the U.S. Forest Service having worked 30 years. Gilbert enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years but was content to help his grandchildren in those hobbies later in life. He also enjoyed gardening, raising cattle and attending auctions. Gilbert was also on the Board of Sellers Cemetery for 50 years. He was very proud to have received the distinction as their farm being named Missouri Century Farm in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Alpha Cottrell Sellers; brother, James Edward (Thelma) Sellers; sister, Glenna (Donald) O'Connor; two nephews, Donald O'Connor and Ronnie Sellers; one niece, Barbara O'Connor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Hildred Skaggs; brothers-in-law, Don and Marvin Skaggs; and sister-in-law, Mary Shrout.
