MO Local Obituaries for the Week of May 9, 2007 Dorothy Branson Dorothy Avalee Branson was born Janaury 23, 1925 in Owensville, Missouri to the late William and Frances Krejci Hibler, and passed away April 29, 2007 at the age of 82 years. She was married to Clyde Branson in Cuba, Missouri, on September 19, 1953. She was a waitress and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She belonged to the Owensville Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Milburn Hibler. She is survived by her husband; brothers-in-law, Raymond Branson and wife Virginia of Belle, Missouri and Everett Branson and wife Ella, Columbus, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Thelma Branson of Oak Ridge, Missouri and Doris Hibler of Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Alan Michel officiating. Interment was in the Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville, Missouri. Mary Ernestine Buettner Mary Ernestine Buettner, nee Allison, of Cuba, Missouri, was born on Saturday, February 1, 1919 to Ernest Allison and Mary Naomi Obrt Allison in Jackson, Tennessee and passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the age of 88 years and 3 months. Mary married Raymond Buettner on September 22, 1937 in St. Charles, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Mary was a member of Faith Chapel in Cuba, Missouri. Her hobbies were painting still life pictures, sewing, cooking and canning. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Martella Lloyd and RenaBelle Jerrell and brother, Arthur Allison. She is survived by her children, Brother Larry Ray Buettner (Mary) of Cuba, Missouri, David Charles Buettner (Kathie) of Oldfield, Missouri and Carolyn Mary Houseman (Barrett) of Bourbon, Missouri. Sister-in-law, Martha Allison of California; brother-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Roy Jerrell of Gainesville, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; two great great great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation was Wednesday, May 2, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral services were Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating. Burial was in the North Lawn Memorial Park, Salem, Missouri with pallbearers Larry Buetner Jr., Brian Bennett, Matt Bennett, Allen Pitts, Kelly Hall and Warren Broadway. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Walter Emit King Walter Emit King of Berryman, Missouri was born on Sunday, August 7, 1938 to Ruben Franklin King and Lola Mabel Bridgeman. He passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007 in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 26 days. Walter married Margie Catlett on September 21, 1963 at Holy Cross Church, Cuba, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born. Walter made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of the Straightway Baptist Church. He moved houses for a living and was a member of the Local 683 Teamsters Union. He was also active in the Ozark Trail Blazers, Missouri Fox Trotters and Spotted Horse Association. His hobbies were riding fox trotter horses, fishing, turkey and deer hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Delmar King; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hodges; brothers-in-law, Jack Adams, Jim Bailey and Charles Adams. He is survived by is wife of the home; daughter, Julie Perkins (Jeff) of Steelville, Missouri; brothers, Jerry King (Geraldine) of Berryman, Missouri, Arthur King (Bernieth) of Hillsboro, Missouri; sisters, Rachel Adams, Lottie Vance (Lester), all of Steelville, Missouri and Mary Hutson (Robert) of Berryman, Missouri. Sisters-in-law, Veronica Adams of Fenton, Missouri, Virginia Bailey of Steelville, Missouri, Catherine Amos (Bill) of St. Peters, Missouri, Pauline O’Brien (Andrew) of Cuba, Missouri, Gertrude Moses of Edmund, Oklahoma. Brothers-in-law, Edward Catlett of California, Joseph Catlett (Alice) of Sun City, Arizona, Michael Catlett (Ann) of Cuba, Missouri, Roy Catlett of Potosi, Missouri and Robert Hodges of Festus, Missouri. Grandchildren, Marlena, Justin and Melanie Perkins of Steelville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation was Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 4-9 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Straightway Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Mike Cooper officiating. All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Dorothy “Dot” Peters Dorothy “Dot” Peters, wife of the late John “Jack” Peters, passed away in St. Louis, Missouri on May 1, 2007 after a brief illness at the age of 89. Jack and Dot lived in St. Louis, Missouri full time, but also lived part time at their home away from home, “Pete’s Hideaway”, south of Bourbon, Missouri, on Highway N. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Condren and husband John and their son Kevin, of Bourbon, Missouri, Judy Sharpe and husband Bill of Houston, Texas and Jackie Lamperti and children; and son, John Peters, Jr. and wife Kim of St. Louis, Missouri. Services were held at Jay B. Smith Mortuary in Maplewood, Missouri and burial was in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
