MO Local Obituaries for the Week of May 9, 2012 Harold “Bud” Hadley Isaak Harold “Bud” Hadley Isaak of Steelville, Missouri was born Sunday, February 16, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Nicholas F. and Opal Marie (Hopkins) Isaak and passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 11 days. On December 2, 1956 in Granite City, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Marlene Hughes. Harold started working as an agent for Prudential Life Insurance in St. Louis until moving back to the Steelville, Missouri area where he worked for the University of Missouri Extension office as a small farms agent. Harold also had his real estate license and worked with Hardecke Real Estate Office in Steelville. He was a member of the Berryman Assembly of God church where he led the songs for the service, a church board member and on the steering committee. He loved fishing, hunting, taking care of the cattle, cutting wood and being on the farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal Marie and Nicholas F. Isaak; and one granddaughter, Harmony Michelle Setzer. He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Hughes) Isaak of Steelville, Missouri; one son, Harold Isaak Jr. of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters, Cindy Wisdom and husband Vince of Boss, Missouri, Rebecca Setzer and husband Steve of Dillard, Missouri and Barbara Crocker and husband Howard of Lebanon, Missouri; one brother, Donald Isaak and wife Betty of Steelville, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Nathan Setzer and wife Beth, Aimee Garrison and husband Heath, Teel Wisdom, Dylan Crocker and wife Grace, Brent, Colin, Alexandra, Ellissa, Faith and Gavin Crocker; six great grandchildren, Kaden, Kallen and Kohen Garrison, Navy and Boston Setzer and Karis Crocker; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Britton- Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Elder Heath Garrison and Bro. Perry Lewis officiating. Special music of “Father’s Eyes” was sung by Rebecca Setzer and accompanied by Steve Setzer on guitar. Other special music of “How Blessed” was sung by Teel Wisdom and Aimee Garrison accompanied by Richelle Martin on piano. Memories were shared by his children. Visitation was held on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Britton- Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Committal prayer and interment were in the Shoal Creek Cemetery in Berryman, Missouri.  Closing the graveside service was special music of “Amazing Grace” sung by his grandchildren. Casket bearers were Howard Crocker, Steve Setzer, Vince Wisdom, Dylan Crocker, Brent Crocker, Colin Crocker, Gavin Crocker, Teel Wisdom and Nathan Setzer. Tarji Johnston Tarji Johnston of Rolla, Missouri was born on May 5, 1954 in Big Springs, Texas to Truman and Carol Simpson (Goodson) Tate and passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was united in marriage to Stanley C. Johnston on May 28, 1982 in Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol (Goodson) Simpson. She is survived by her husband of the home, Stanley Johnston of Rolla, Missouri; two sons, Steven Simpson of Texas and Jacob Johnston of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter, Kelsey Johnston of Rolla, Missouri; one granddaughter, Alexia; father, Truman Tate of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Russell Tate of Austin, Texas; one sister, Rhonda Durkop and husband George of Brownwood, Texas; other relatives and friends. Joseph “Wayne” Richards Joseph “Wayne” Richards of Steelville, Missouri was born on Monday, March 12, 1945 to Oscar Allen and Renabel Mitchell Richards in Wayne County in Illinois and passed away Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 20 days. Wayne was a member of the Fair Dealing Baptist Church in Fair Dealing, Missouri. He graduated from the Doniphan High School in Doniphan, Missouri. Wayne served in the Army National Guard. Wayne married Peggy Sue Walker on April 15, 1970 in Clayton, Missouri and blessed with three children. Wayne and his brother started their own sawmill operation right after graduating high school. His brother chose another career path so Wayne carried on in the business moving to various locations. He had many setbacks but with strong determination to succeed, built it into one of the most successful mills in Missouri, the Richards Wood Products Inc. The company was established in 1967 in Steelville, Missouri. Wayne also expanded into several other business endeavors. He and a partner bought out Cecil Markley Lumber Yard in Cuba, Missouri and operated it as Wayne’s Lumber Yard for a few years. Wayne later started Richards Forklift and Equipment Company in Steelville, Missouri. He and Sue built, owned, and operated The Flower Company, in Steelville, Missouri. He was a land investment manager and developer. He also was a farmer and cattle rancher. He was a member of the Lebanon Lodge #77 AF & AM in Steelville, Missouri. He served on the Board of Directors of Peoples Bank and was a member of the Missouri Forest Products Association. He enjoyed all sports. He followed the Missouri Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams. He enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, gardening and drag racing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Renabel Richards; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Edna Walker; and brothers-in-law, Russell and Jerry Walker. Ray Leroy Schatz, Sr. Ray Leroy Schatz, Sr. of Sullivan, Missouri was born in the Bacon Ridge area near Sullivan, Missouri on December 11, 1934 to Oscar “Cub” and Diveta I. (Bell) Schatz and passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Harry S Truman V.A. Hospital in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 77 years. He was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area except for a time working for AT&T and military service. Ray honorably served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he worked as an equipment operator for Schatz Material Company until ill health caused his early retirement. For a time, he worked the family farm and he and Glen Stevens worked together on other farming responsibilities. Ray was first married to Sarah Vivian Gibson. He later married Jane Dace who preceded him in death in 1990. On June 8, 1996 Ray married Peggy Northcutt Pounds. Ray always enjoyed the outdoors, deer and turkey hunting and fishing when able. He enjoyed gardening and hunting for Indian arrowheads. He was also an expert in making turkey calls. He also attended Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Diveta Schatz; three brothers, Buck, Bill and Charlie Schatz; and by two sisters, Nancy Jackson, and Frances Schatz Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, Peggy of the family home; one son, Ray L. Linda Carlene Shoemate Linda Carlene Shoemate of St. James, Missouri was born on August 24, 1962 in Salem, Missouri to James Carl and Grace Louise (Cooley) Shoemate and passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 49 years, 8 months and 5 days. Carlene was a Hydrologic Technician and worked at USGS Missouri Water Science Center for many years, at Rolla Federal Credit union in Rolla, Missouri for 20 years. She had a degree in drafting and graduated from John F. Hodge High School in St. James in 1982 and went to R.T.I. in Rolla in 1984. She was preceded in death by her father, James Carl Shoemate. She is survived by her mother, Grace Louise (Cooley) Shoemate of St. James, Missouri; son, Mike Shoemate of St. James, Missouri; daughter, Samantha Shoemate of St. James, Missouri; two brothers, James Shoemate of Columbia, Missouri and Carl Raymond Shoemate of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Ernie Coverdale officiating. Ruth Ann “Sam” Warmbrodt Ruth Ann “Sam” Warmbrodt nee Risenhoover of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, October 31, 1946 in Montrose, Colorado to Fred L. and Mildred A. Simmons Risenhoover and passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at MO Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 29 days. Sam married Norman Warmbrodt on January 6, 1995 in Webster Groves, Missouri. Sam was a former police officer for the City of Bridgeton, Missouri. She was also, previously employed at McDonnell Douglas, (Boeing) and Washington University as an Administrative Assistant. Before retirement, she worked several years as Supervisor of Voice Services at St. John’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Deer Creek Church, Cuba, Missouri. Her hobby was embroidering and she also was very generous in giving away her embroidered pieces. Sam’s positive attitude and fun loving character will be truly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred Risenhoover; two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Risenhoover; and father-in-law, Norman P. Warmbrodt. She is survived by her husband, Norm M.
