On June 26, 2009 Trisha Lynn Cavender was united in marriage to Brian Paul Boulch and they made their home in Steelville, Missouri. Trisha enjoyed kayaking, floating, and hunting mushrooms. She was crazy about animals, especially her dog, Lep. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Ann Cavender; and grandparents, Gene and Louise Yount and Linus and Edith Cavender. Shirley Oneta Burrus Shirley Oneta Burrus was born February 5, 1938 in Bunker, Missouri to T.F. and Martha Louise (Watson) Terrill and passed away April 27, 2017 at the age of 79 years. On July 13, 1957 Shirley Oneta Terrill was united in marriage to Willard Thomas Burrus. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, baking, playing the organ and singing. She was a member of Gladden Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.F. Terrill and Martha Terrill Quick; and husband, Willard Thomas Burrus. John Gilbert Candreia John Gilbert Candreia of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leonard Candreia on November 30, 1933 in Lawrence, Kansas and passed away on May 3, 2017 at the age of 83 years. In 1938 Mrs. Candreia married Wayne Toothman who raised John as his own in Kirkwood, Missouri. John started with the Kirkwood Fire Department on August 6, 1960 and retired as an Engineer on May 9, 1986. He also owned and operated Candreia Lawn and Tree service into his early 70's. John was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing up until the age of 81. John found love again later in life and married Jewel Quaranta February 14, 1999 and lived in Cuba, Missouri for many years together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elnora Alice Roelofsz Candreia and Wayne Toothman of Kirkwood, Missouri and Joseph Candreia of Aspen, Colorado; and sisters, Helen Holtz and Peggy Brown. Hallie Sue Gregory Hallie Sue Gregory (nee Medley) of Farmington, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born in Viburnum, Missouri on April 20, 1928 to John and Rebecca Richardson Medley and passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 89 years and 8 days. On November 21, 1953 in Hernando, Mississippi she was united in marriage to Carlton Gregory. For several years, Hallie attended the Lookout Assembly of God Church in Viburnum and Davisville Assembly of God. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for several years. For over 35 years, she contributed to the Davisville News for the Steelville Newspaper. She and Carlton always enjoyed visiting with friends and family and in their younger days would go camping. She enjoyed cooking and making crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rebecca Medley; her husband, Carlton; one grandson, Matthew Gregory; one brother, Jesse Medley; five sisters, Marie Summers and husband Bill, Bessie Oliver and husband Bill, Laura Coplin and husband Esco, Dora Midyett and husband Corby and Gracie Medley. Genevieve accepted the Lord at a young age and was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She married Dale L. Smith in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In 1961 she married Johnny L. Thomas. She later married John David Helms Jr. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and playing boardgames of all sorts. Licklider Earl L. Licklider of Milford Massachusetts, formerly of Cuba Missouri, was born in Sullivan County, Missouri to Gladyne and James L. Licklider and passed away on April 30, 2017 at the age of 65 years. He was raised and educated in Missouri, graduating from Cuba High School in Cuba, Missouri in 1969. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1969. After serving in the Vietnam War, he attended Missouri Valley College. Upon graduation he began his career as an electrical and computer engineer. He had been employed for many years as a telecommunications systems engineer working for Mitel Corporation, headquartered out of Texas. He was a member of the Hopkinton Sportsmen's Association, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James Licklider. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Suzanne (Riley) Licklider; children, Ann Licklider Alves, Matthew Licklider, Jared Licklider of Milford Massachusetts and Jason Licklider and his wife Diana Tubbs of Worcester Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jackson and Bridget Alves; mother, Gladyne (Pinnell) Licklider Riddle of Cuba Missouri; other relatives and friends. Grace DeLois Spurgeon Grace DeLois Spurgeon of Bland, Missouri was born January 5, 1926 to Ernest and Ruth (Enloe) Williams and passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Grace was united in marriage on May 18, 1944, to Charles O. Spurgeon. Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bourbon, Missouri. After her family moved to Bland, Missouri she attended First Baptist Church in Bland, Missouri. Grace and her husband Charles were lifelong farmers in the Cuba, Missouri area and were owners of the Bland Dairy Freeze for 23 years. After the death of her husband she worked for the Dollar General Store in Owensville, Missouri. Grace loved to read books, listen to country music and make potato salad for family gatherings. She loved her grand kids, and to her, they were all great! And above all, what not too many families have the opportunity to do, watch the fifth generation. Babies are the most precious gifts from God and she loved to hold them, sing a jingle or two and watch them play. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on February 22, 1984; her parents, Ernest and Ruth Williams; her parents in-law; one brother; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in law; and one great grandson.She is survived by four children, Michael Spurgeon and wife Linda of Steelville, Missouri, Mitchell Spurgeon and wife Charlotte of Cuba, Missouri, Terrllyne and husband Roger Stockton of Bland, Missouri, and Merrilee Spurgeon of Bland, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Williams of Arizona; other relatives and friends. James Franklin White James Franklin White of Salem, Missouri was born on March 30, 1929 in Seaton, Missouri to Frank and Mable (Ketchum) White and passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the age of 88 years. James was united in marriage to Marjorie Duncan on November 26, 1950 and to this union three children were born. James was a life long cattle farmer and worked for Ozarks Coca-Cola for 30 years then went on to be the Executive Director for the Salem Housing Authority for 18 years. He and Marjorie shared 43 years together before her passing on April 1, 1994. On October 25, 1997 he married Tresa Zolder. After retiring, James enjoyed spending time outdoors; hunting and fishing. He was a bluegrass music fan and went to many festivals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mable White; first wife, Marjorie; grandson, Jeremy White; brothers, Everett White, Elmer White and Jesse White; and infant sister, Mary Elizabeth White.
