Rodney Curt Caudill
Rodney Curt Caudill of Steelville, Missouri was born on February 13, 1952
in Middletown, Ohio to Rodney Chapple Caudill and Vivian Morrison Caudill
and passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the age of 58 years, 2 months
and 18 days.
Curt served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
He married Carol “Gina” Harrell on December 15, 2003.
He practiced law until he became disabled. His hobbies were singing,
playing mountain music and blues on his banjo, harmonica, dobro and guitar.
He was a lifelong fisherman and lover of the Meramec River. A gravel bar
‘Curt’s Island’ was named after him where he caught his first fish. He was
a genealogist, storyteller, and a Mark Twain and U.S. constitution scholar.
He loved his family especially his daughter and grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Chapple Caudill.
He is survived by his wife, Carol “Gina” Caudill; daughter, Anne
(Christopher) Caudill Schrand of Fishers, Indiana; mother, Vivian Morrison
Caudill of Indiana; grandson, Drew Schrand; stepson, William (Monica) Adams
of Valley Park, Missouri; stepdaughters Crystal Linn (Bob) Pinnell of
Steelville, Missouri and Reginia Marie (Don) Adams of Polson, Montana;
brother, Dr. Brent (Renee) Caudill of Steelville, Missouri; sisters, Carla
(Ron) Caudill Waechter of Muncie, Indiana and Cristin Caudill of Steelville,
Missouri; four step grandchildren; good friend and neighbor, Don Gruver of
Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

William Collier
William “Bill” Collier of Cherryville, Missouri was born on Thursday,
July 19, 1923 in Webster City, Iowa to John Thomas Collier and Ruby Morgan
Collier and passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the age of 86 years,
9 months and 14 days.
He served his country honorably in the United States Marines during WWII.
He married Ruth Jones on September 3, 1960.
He retired from McDonnell Douglas where he worked on the Mercury and Apollo
Space Program. After retirement, he worked as an electrician with Arthur
Merk. He enjoyed raising cattle, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was
a former member of the American Legion in Eureka, Missouri, and the Bee
Keepers Association. Bill accepted the Lord early in life at Cherryville
Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Collier; brothers
and sisters, Victor Oswald Collier, Henry Lewis “Red” (Dolly) Collier,
John Collier, Robert Leslie Collier, Clifford Dean Collier, Shirley
Shireen Brock, and Ken Collier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Arthur “Chick” Jones, Daphane (Bill) Janus, Earnest Jones and Dolly Marie
England.
He is survived by his wife Ruth of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Charles Collier
of Cuba, Missouri; sisters, Judy Hewkin of Cuba, Missouri and Charlotte
Attebery of Creighton, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Curtis
England of Steelville, Missouri, Vera Jones of Cherryville, Missouri, Pat
Lanhan of St. Clair, Missouri, Violet Collier of St. Louis, Missouri, Myra

service was Friday at 1 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri
with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.
Burial was at the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery with full military honors.

Lillian R. Conduitt
Lillian R. Conduitt of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, October 4, 1918
at Alexandria, Louisiana to the union of Michael A. and Anna Frances
(nee: Hafey) Bousser and left from this life on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at
Cuba, Missouri at the age of 91 years.
Lillian was united in marriage on December 10, 1939 to Roy F. Conduitt and
to this union four children were born Richard, Thomas, Nancy and Larry.
Lillian spent her life taking care of her family and home. She was an avid
reader, played bingo, quilted, crocheted, knitted, baked and decorated cakes,
collected frogs and always enjoyed talking on the phone. She could embroider
or cross stitch anything and enjoyed making crafts. But what she enjoyed
most was spending time with her family and friends.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna Bousser; son,
Richard Conduitt; daughter, Nancy Conduitt; two sisters and brother-in-laws,
Anna and husband Leon Leblanc and Zita and husband Adolph Meier; one brother
and sister-in-law, John F. and wife Evelyn DeMarest and other relatives and
friends.
Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her
two sons, Tom and wife Donna Conduitt and Larry and wife Faye Conduitt, all
of Cuba, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Barbara Conduitt of Southwald, England;
nine grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Murray, Tim and wife Kim Conduitt, Glen
Conduitt, Anna Goodwin, Tom and wife Leslie Conduitt, Dawn and husband Rob
Schaumburg, Karen Conduitt, Michelle and husband Daniel Dulany and Sara
Conduitt; five great grandchildren, Robbie Murray, Chelsea Conduitt,
Brittany Conduitt, Jackson Conduitt, Lauren Conduitt and “one on the way;”
nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the
Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba, Missouri with Father James Finder as
celebrant.
Interment followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Richard Stuart DeGeare
Richard Stuart DeGeare of Cook Station, Missouri was born in St. Louis,
Missouri on May 14, 1950 to Edward DeGeare and Lorraine Ginther DeGeare and
passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the age of 59 years, 11 months and
21 days.
Richard married Cynthia Ellinger on December 31, 1976 and to this union one
son was born.
He worked several years for the City Street Dept. of St. Louis, Missouri.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, especially trout fishing in the Maramec
Spring and mostly spending time outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lorraine DeGeare.
He is survived by his son, Richard S. (Laura) DeGeare II of House Springs,
Missouri; half brothers, William (Shirley) Eberhardt of Eureka, Missouri,
Steven (Marty) Eberhardt of Arnold, Missouri, Robert Eberhardt of Arizona
and Michael Eberhardt of Barnhart, Missouri; sister, Jan (Danny) Akins of
St. Louis, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Bradley Paul Dixon of Mesquite, Texas was born on March 11, 1956 in
Wichita, Kansas to Matthew Bruce and Lela Mae (Pohle) Dixon and passed away
on Friday, April 23, 2010. Bradley was 54 years, 1 month and 12 days of age.
He is survived by his parents, Matthew Bruce Dixon of Amerillo, Texas and
Lela Mae Pohle Dixon Steen of St. James, Missouri; two daughters, Melissa
Dixon of Floresville, Texas; and Jessica Garner of Dallas, Texas; brothers,
Mark Dixon of St. James, Missouri and Steven Dixon of Amerillo, Texas.
Graveside services were conducted on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the
Flat Grove Cemetery with Charles Pardee officiating.
Pallbearers were Dennis Foust, Mark Dixon, Steve Dixon, Keith Martin, Mark
Lackey and Blake Judkins.

Pauline Gunter of Republic, Missouri formerly of St. James, Missouri was
born on August 30, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Sterling and Alberta
Lucinda (Nail) Moreland and passed away at the St. John’s Hospital in
Springfield on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Pauline Gunter was 83 years, 8 months
and 5 days of age.
Pauline was united in marriage to Charles Eugene Gunter Sr. on
August 14, 1948 in Harrison, Arkansas and to this union two children were
born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Alberta Lucinda
(Nail) Moreland; her husband, Charles Eugene Gunter Sr. on
September 13, 2005 and one brother, Leroy Crafton.
She is survived by one son, Charles E. (Charlie) Gunter Jr. and wife Joy
of St. James, Missouri; one daughter, Lucinda Kay (Cindy) Burks and husband
Jim of Republic, Missouri; one brother, Jack Crafton and wife Jean of
St. James, Missouri; three grandchildren, Edy J. Froelich, Katie Burks
and Chaz Gunter; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Jones Funeral Home
Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the
Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Jim Sutherlin
officiating. Pallbearers were family.
Burial was in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

Chapel in St. James, Missouri.

Donna M. Harmon
Donna M. Harmon of Sullivan, Missouri was born on November 8, 1934 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Francis (Frank) and Matilda (Tillie) Curran and
passed away at Victorian Manor, in Oak Grove, Missouri on Saturday,
April 24, 2010 at the age of 75 years.
She moved with her family to the Cherryville area.
Donna was employed by the former Brown Shoe Company in Cuba, Missouri and
later, after moving to Sullivan worked and the former K and G Variety store
that was located on Main Street. She also worked for the former BorgWarner
Company, Holiday Inn and Beverly Enterprises as Housekeeping Supervisor.
Donna was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, the Ladies
Hospital Auxiliary and she was active in the Ladies Guild of St. Anthony
until ill health caused her to be further home bound. She was also a
volunteer at Spring Bluff and Saint Anthony Schools where she assisted with
the children’s reading lessons. She was an active contributor to the V.F.W.
and Candle lighters Organization for Many years.
On August 30, 1952 she was united in marriage to Paul Harmon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Matilda Curran;
son-in-law, Michael Garrett; one sister, Margaret Remter and three brothers,
Tom, Jim and Jerry Curran.
She is survived by a son, Paul Harmon, Jr. and wife Patti of Sullivan,
Missouri; four daughters, Sheila Brown of Bourbon, Missouri and husband Jim
Brown of Cuba, Missouri, Faye Garrett of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Pauline
Blankenship and husband Steve of Sullivan, Missouri and Debbie Anderson and
husband Greg of Bourbon, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren;
one brother, Robert Curran of Virginia Beach, Virginia; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Eaton Funeral Home
in Sullivan, Missouri.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010
from Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, Missouri with interment in
the parish cemetery.

Shirley Hazel Hedrick
Shirley Hazel Hedrick, nee Halbert was born at Cherryville, Missouri on
November 3, 1936 to Ralph Halbert and Irene (Key) Halbert-Gibbs and passed
away Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City,
Missouri.
On April 4, 1959 in Salem, Missouri, she married Delbert Hedrick.
Shirley was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Owensville,
Missouri.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking. Whenever anyone came to their
home, Shirley was always ready to serve her cooking, so no one would go away
hungry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Irene Halbert; two
brothers, Dale Gibbs and wife Verla and Kenneth Gibbs; two sisters, Argie
Parrett and Clio Mrieta Ware and husband Kenneth; brothers-in-law, Tom
Wilhite and Johnnie Strange and sister-in-law Karen Moore.
She is survived by her husband Delbert Hedrick of the home in Bay, Missouri;
two sons, Terrence Lee Hedrick and wife Michelle of Bay, Missouri and
Timothy Ray Hedrick and wife Carol of Midway, Arkansas; three daughters,

Dorothy B. Hunt of Farmington, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born
on Saturday, December 1, 1934 in Irondale, Missouri to Simon Lee Crump and
Ruby Marie Hardesty Crump and passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the age
of 75 years and 5 months.
Dorothy married Samuel Hunt on May 29, 1961 in Farmington, Missouri and to
this union two children were born.
Dorothy taught public school for 47 years and 31 of those years at Cuba
Public School. She was a member of Cuba First Baptist Church for many years
where she served faithfully as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School
teacher. She also was a member of the Eastern Star, St. Mary’s Chapter #338
of St. Genevieve, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Ruby Crump; husband,
Sam; sister, Marian (Bob) Cole; brother, Lee Crump; brothers-in-law,
Monroe Sumpter, Tony Gilmer, Bobby Hunt, Wayne Hunt, and Eldon Hunt and
sister-in-law, Faye Roberson.
She is survived by her children, Gregory Samuel (Stephanie) Hunt of
Jefferson City, Missouri and Heidi Hunt (Lance) DeClue of El Cajon,

Thomas Eugene Slape
Thomas Eugene Slape, 76, of Cuba, Missouri was born September 20, 1933 in
St. Louis, Missouri to William Shelley Slape and Randa (Hobbs) Slape and
passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his home.
In 1955, Thomas married Shirley Mae Jones who preceded him in death. To
this union, four children were born.
On March 30, 1996 in Potosi, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Edna
Mae (Payne) Pearson.
Thomas was raised as a child in the Catholic faith. He served his country
in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW of St. James, Missouri.
In 1992, he retired after thirty-eight years from Laclede Gas Company in
St. Louis.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and family vacations at
the lake.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Mae Slape; five brothers,
Lawrence Slape and wife Freda, Earl Slape, Kenneth Slape, George Slape,
Wilford Slape and wives Eve and Dorothy; one sister, Helen Beshears and
husband Eddie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Jones, Jack Beshears,
Robert Housewright and wife Annabelle and Jack and Nadine Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Edna of Cuba, Missouri; one son, Kevin Slape of
St. Peters, Missouri; three daughters, Vicki Clary and husband Rick, Deanna
Pecoroni and husband Mike and Melissa Slape, all of O’Fallon, Missouri; two
step-sons, Brad Tinker of Steelville, Missouri and Bryan Tinker of Memphis,

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Father James Finder officiating. Special
music of “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” and
“Be Thou My Vision” was sang by John Craig and accompanied on piano by
Leslie Craig.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Steelville Cemetery. Full military
honors were conducted by the U.S. Army, St. James VFW and Missouri Patriot
Guard.
Casket bearers were Taylor Slape, Maison Slape, T.J. Prouhet, Brandt Prouhet,
Kyle Clary and Justin Pecoroni.

Clyde William Southard of Cuba, Missouri was born on November 25, 1958 in
Rolla, Missouri to Claude and Pearl (Husky) Southard and passed away on
Wednesday May 5,2010 at the St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri
at the age of 51 years.
On Nov. 26, 1983 he was united in marriage to Tammy Dunning in Gerald,
Missouri.
He was Material Coordinator for commercial printing. He was preceded in death
by his father, Claude Southard and his father-in-law, Ronald Bates.
He is survived by his wife Tammy; two sons, Jacob Southard and wife Jessica
of Pacific, Missouri, Eric Southard and fiancée Maranda of Cuba, Missouri;
brother-in-law, Darrell Dunning and wife Bridget of Owensville, Missouri;
his mother Pearl Southard of Vichy, Missouri; father-in-law Charles Dunning
and wife Brenda of Salem, Missouri; mother-in-law, Laverna Bates of Gerald,

Dennis “Denny” Thurston Stewart
Dennis “Denny” Thurston Stewart of Cherryville, Missouri was born on Friday,
July 11, 1947 in Maryland Heights, Missouri to Leigh Thurston Stewart and
Thelma Eveline Freet Stewart and passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at
the age of 62 years, 9 months and 24 days.
Dennis served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
He married Janell Michaels on August 18, 1968 in Kirkwood, Missouri and to
this union three children were born.
Dennis and Janell moved to Cherryville, Missouri in 1982 from Kirkwood,
Missouri. Dennis accepted the Lord many years ago and was a member of the
Seventh Day Baptist Church in Farina, Illinois and also a member of the
American Legion. He worked a number of years as an independent truck driver
where he and Janell were team drivers. Dennis enjoyed HO and steam trains,
woodworking, deer hunting, but most of all he loved his family very much and
enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren
on the farm they built together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leigh and Thelma Stewart;
brothers-in-law, Maury Yahl and Mike Moylan and father-in-law, Arthur
Michaels.
He is survived by his wife, Janell; son, Dennis (Traci) Wayne Stewart of Salem,

Visitation was Friday, May 7, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. and Funeral service at
11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri
with Rev. Lyndell Decker officiating.
Burial was at the Tesleigh’s Family Cemetery on the family farm near
Cherryville, Missouri with full military honors.

Kenneth C. Waring
Kenneth C. Waring of Kansas City, Missouri passed away May 4, 2010 at the
age of 66 years.
Ken retired as a pilot from TWA in 1987, after 21 years of service with the
airline. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church. Ken also retired
from the Air National Guard in 1984. He served 15 years in St. Louis, Mo.
with the 131st Fighter Wing and then transferred to Tinker Air Force Base in
Oklahoma for another 5 years with the 110th Fighter Squadron. He was a life
member of the Air Force Association, the Reserve Officers Association, and
The Order of Daedelians, a military pilots fraternity.
He was a member of the American Legion and life member of the National Rifle
Association. Ken had a feature story published in a Polish magazine
regarding military flying episodes and several on-line publications. He
enjoyed model airplanes, guns, reading, and photography.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Francis Waring; his mother,
Ruth Hoehle Waring and a daughter, Courtney Waring. He is survived by his
wife, Judy Lanpher-Waring of the home; a daughter, Laura (Bryan) Siddall of
Overland Park, Kansas; a step-daughter, Gretchen Feitz of Wyatt, Indiana;
sisters, Ruth Ann (Everett) Garver and Dorothy (Wayne) Tessaro, both of
St. James, Missouri; a grandson, Zachary Siddall; step-grandchildren: Jesse
Anne, Anna Ruth, Johanna, and Dietrich Feitz; uncle, Louis Hoehle, Jr. of
Alamo, Texas; other relatives and friends.
A gathering was held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010, followed by a
memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, 6700 N.W. 72nd
Street, Platte Woods, Missouri 64151.

Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty, Missouri.
