Ruby Irene Brickey
Ruby Irene Brickey nee Gross of Cuba, Missouri was born
on March 9, 1907 in Jerseyville, Illinois to the union of John Gross
and Dovie Gross and passed away on April 30, 2005 at the Phelps
County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri at the age of 98
years 1 month and 21 days.
Ruby was united in marriage to Thomas Leroy Liles in
Jerseyville, Illinois on September 5, 1925. One son, Jimmy, and one
daughter, Peggy, were born to this union. Thomas preceded Ruby in
death.
In 1945 Ruby was united in marriage to Raymond Brickey.
They were happily married until Raymond preceded her in death on
February 20, 1984.
Ruby was also preceded in death by her parents, seven
brothers and sisters and her daughter, Peggy Liles.
She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church,
UMW, Susannah's, made the communion bread and paramonts and was a
quilter.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life
are her dear friend Helen Ortmeyer, one son, Jimmy Liles and wife
LaToya, step-daughter-in-law Mary Ann Brickey, two sisters Edna
Sawtell and Betty Rentoul, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great
great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Ruby was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister,
grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, good friend
to all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Ruby Irene Brickey nee Gross was in state at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Services were held on
Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Cuba United Methodist Church of Cuba,
Missouri with Rev. Paul Lathum officiating.
Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
John Henry Edwards
John Henry Edwards, of Edgerton, Kansas, passed away
Tuesday, April 12 at the Olathe Medical Center in Kansas. Mr.
Edwards was born at Steelville, Missouri, June 16, 1923 and had
recently moved from St. Louis to be near his daughter.
He was married to Jacqueline Daniel Edwards, of the
home. They had three daughters, four sons, 13 grandchildren and 12
great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Jeffery, James
and Donald Edwards, one grandson, his father Ivy Edwards and mother
Maude Belcher Edwards.
Surviving are his daughter Joan Rodgers and husband C.J.
of Wellsville, Kansas, Janice Williams of Moscow Mills, Missouri and
Judith Jorgensen and husband Ron of Newman, California; and a son
John Edwards III and wife Roxanne of Florida.
Mr. Edwards was a retired supervisor at the Didion
Foundry of St. Peters, Missouri. He also worked for Emerson
Electric. He was an Army Medic in the Pacific Theatre during World
War II.
Mr. Edwards was cremated. There will be a private family
memorial service at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Bruce Funeral
Home in Gardner, Kansas.
Virginia J. "Gin" Koch
Virginia J. "Gin" Koch, nee Rutledge, born October 20,
1925 in Steelville, Missouri and passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 at
Steelville, Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Beloved wife of Louis A. "Bud" Koch for 63 years; dear
mother and mother-in-law of Barbara (Douglas) Tiberghlen of
Steelville, Missouri, Patricia Austin of Hazelwood, Missouri, Louis
R. Koch of New Melle, Missouri, Jacquelyn (John) Aver of Eureka,
Missouri and JoAnn (Ronald) Bell of St. Clair, Missouri .
Loving grandmother of Christine Santhuff, Jennifer
White, Lisa White, Carrie Courtouis, Jason Lindsay, Lucas Bell,
Bryan Koch, Nikki Bell and Ryan Bell.
Dear great grandmother of Olivia and Emi Santhuff,
Bradley and Zachary White, Brandon, Bradley, Megan and Trevor White,
Ryan and Logan Courtois and Alexa Bell.
Loving daughter of the late Wilber and Ethel Rutledge;
dear sister of Patricia (Arthur) Seckel, the late Joyce Crane-Kern
and the late Robert Rutledge; dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt,
great great aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Gin was truly loved by all and will be missed. Gin loved
life and was always there for her family and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 5 from 3-9 p.m.
Funeral was held Friday, May 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Buchholz Mortuary
West, 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, Missouri. Interment National
Cemetery.
Jack D. Markley
Jack D. Markley of Cuba, Missouri was born on December
14, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Bradford Markley and
Sarah Carey Markley and passed away on May 6, 2005 at his home near
Cuba, Missouri at the age of 68 years 4 months and 22 days.
On May 5, 1956 Jack was united in marriage to Sandi Ross
at Glendale, Missouri. Four sons, Daniel, Dennis, Timothy and
Joseph, and two daughters, Kelly and Carrie, were born to this
union. They have been happily married for 49 years.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers,
Eddie and Vernon Prickett and two granddaughters, Mollie Markley and
Astrid Markley.
He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the
Carpenter's Local Union of St. Louis, Missouri.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life
are his loving wife, Sandi Markley; four sons, Daniel Markley and
wife Kathy, Dennis Markley, Timothy Markley and wife Melinda and
Joseph Markley and wife Diana; two daughters, Kelly Malady and
husband Joe and Carrie Rutt and husband Jim.
One brother, Ralph Prickett and wife Susie; one sister
Sarah Robinson and husband Tim; 17 grandchildren, two great
granddaughters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and
many friends.
Jack was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather,
great grandfather, brother, good friend to all who knew him and will
be sadly missed.
Jack D. Markley was in state at the Britton Funeral Home
of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Monday, May 9,
2005 at 11 a.m. Interment was in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, and
Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
