Marjorie Alleen Carroll
Marjorie Alleen Carroll, of Cuba, was born on August 8, 1924, in
Maries County, to Herman and Minnie Olive (Eads) Isenberg and passed
away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in the Cuba Manor Care Center, Cuba,
Missouri at the age of 88 years and 9 months.
Majorie was first united in marriage to Milford Martin Terry on
May 6, 1944, at Dixon, who preceded her in death on April 9, 1949.
She was later united in marriage on August 25, 1953, at Cuba, Missouri
to Ralph Edward Carroll.
Majorie was baptized early in life and attended the Christian Church.
During her working life, she had worked for C&R Heating and Cooling in
Maryland Heights, Missouri, as a clerk and secretary as well as being
a housewife and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Milford; a half-
brother, Gene Morris, and a half- sister, Evelyn Doyle.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Carroll, of the
home near Cuba, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and
Nancy Terry of Defiance, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelia
and Ronald Martin of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ronna
Thornhill and husband, Greg, Steven Martin, Alyssa Diehl and husband,
Darrell (Buddy), Chad Terry and wife, Dana, Kyle Terry and Cory Terry,
all of St. Charles, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Taylor
Thornhill, Ryan Thornhill, Andrew Diehl, Ashlee Diehl, Ethan Martin,
Emily Martin, Ava Terry and Connor Terry; one half-brother, Kenneth
Morris of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 in the
Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Bro.
Rocky G. Carroll, First Baptist Church, Dixon, Missouri officiating.
Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery, under the direction of the Dixon
Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
Pallbearers were Chad Terry, Kyle Terry, Cory Terry, Steven Martin,
Ethan Martin, Taylor Thornhill, Ryan Thornhill and Andrew Diehl.

James Henry Gruver
James Henry Gruver of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, July 13, 1941
at Cuba, Missouri to Herman and Bessie Ellen (nee Pyatt) Gruver and
passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of
71 years.
James was united in marriage to Verna Faye Dotson on July 27, 1963 at
St. Louis, Missouri and to this union five children were born.
James ran a logging crew and worked for McGinnis Wood Products from
1969 until he retired in August of 2005. He pastored churches in the Crawford
County area for 35 years and started two churches “The Gospel Lighthouse.” He
enjoyed gardening and he grew beautiful roses and other flowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Bessie Gruver;
one brother, Herman Lee “Pete” Gruver; three brothers-in-law, Bill L
ause, Granville Rayle and Harold Studdard.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Verna Gruver of Cuba,
Missouri; three sons, Leon and wife Kathy Gruver, Bill and wife
Eutonna Gruver and Herman and wife Amy Gruver; two daughters, Verna
Christina and husband Jay Smith and Vicky and husband David Bailey,
all of Cuba, Missouri; grandchildren, Jenny and husband Drew Weems,
Bradley and wife Destanie Gruver, Rachel Gruver, Merissa Enke, James
Enke, Ashley and husband Tim Barnett, Clarissa and husband Caleb
Loucks, Erica Gruver, Tiffany Gruver, Dylan Gruver, James Ryan Limberg,
Brandon L. Limberg and Jaylan Gruver; great grandchildren, Jonathon,
Madison, Macey, James W., Mckinzy, Jadelyn, Haley, Desiree, Jordan,
Jeremiah and Michael; one brother, Jack and wife Sharon Gruver of
Cuba, Missouri; five sisters, Arlene Rayle and Shirley Gruver of
Desoto, Missouri, Louise Lause of Cuba, Missouri, Nellie Studdard of
Pea Ridge, Missouri and Betty and husband Leroy Hoskins of Cuba,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and
Friday, May 10, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral
Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the
Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Bro. Don Mitchell
officiating.
Special music will be “Where The Roses Never Fade” by Lula Doyle,
“Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Far Side Banks of Jordan.”
Pallbearers were Richard Doyle, Danny Dotson, Wesley Adair, Dale
Smith, Harold Studdard and Herman Studdard. Honorary pallbearers are
Roger Studdard, Randy Studdard, Brad Gruber and Calvin Studdard.
Interment and prayers followed at the Kinder Cemetery with Bro. John
Ripley officiating and “Amazing Grace” by the grandchildren.

Ronald Warran “RW” Lamberth
Ronald Warren “RW” Lamberth of Cook Station, Missouri, was born on
February 28, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to Floice and Seva
McCullough Lamberth and passed away on May 8, 2013 at the Missouri
Veteran’s Home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 85 years,
3 months and 4 days.
RW spent his childhood growing up on his parent’s farm in Ferguson,
Missouri. He proudly served his country in the United States Army
from 1946-47 in WWII and again from 1950-1952 in Korea. He received
the Victory Medal, UN Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal
with four Bronze Service Stars.
In 1950, RW moved with his parents to their farm south of St. James
and in November of 1955 purchased Lamberth Stock Farm, which he
continued to operate for 55 years until his health began to fail.
He also operated a trucking business for several years hauling
livestock, feed, grain, coal and fertilizer. He enjoyed spending
time with his family and being on his farm, continually working to
improve his pasture and business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florice and Seva Lamberth;
grandparents, Oscar and Ida Lamberth and Alonzo and Bertha
McCullough; brother, Richard “Dick” Lamberth; son, Randy Lamberth,
and great grandson, Owen Lamberth.
He is survived by his special friend and companion, Janet Snelson
of the home; two daughters, Linda Hazely of Joplin, Missouri and
Cheryl Copling and husband Ray of Cuba, Missouri; one sister,
Loveta Steen and husband Merel of Cook Station, Missouri; grand-
children, Brandon Lamberth and wife Laura of St. James, Missouri,
Braeden Lamberth of Steelville, Missouri, Ray Copling, Jr. and
Jeremy Copling of Cuba, Missouri, Christine Lamberth and Brandi
Marts of Joplin, Missouri; six great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were on Sunday, March 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Mo.
Burial was in the St. James Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon Lamberth, Braeden Lamberth, Adyn Lamberth,
Jeremy Copling, Shawn Steen and Merel Steen. Honorary pallbearers were
Gary Engelmeier, Larry Lorts, Gary Lorts, Don White, Jody Sanders.

Jerry Dewayne Long
Jerry Dewayne Long of Steelville, Missouri was born in Gideon,
Missouri on Thursday, December 5, 1940 to William Ralph and Juel
Verline Parson Long and passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the
age of 72 years, 4 months and 26 days.
Jerry attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus studying
computer systems. He served his country honorably in the United States
Air Force from 1958-1962. He then joined the Texaco Oil Company,
St. Louis, Missouri where he worked until his retirement in the
mid-1980’s and then moved to Steelville, Missouri. He was a member
of Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, Kennett, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Juel Long;
daughter, Laura Evon Long; son, Jerry D. Long, Jr.; two brothers and
two sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Rae Janine Long of Paris, France;
son, Michael A. Long of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Jesse W. Long
of St. Louis, Missouri; special friends, Raney and Judy Gray of
Steelville, Missouri; seven grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17 at 11 a.m.
at the Redbud Memorial Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Delmar B.
Hutson officiating.
There will be full military honors and Patriot Guard honors.

Margaret Mary Pyatt
Margaret Mary Pyatt of Leasburg, Missouri was born June 25, 1943 at
St. Louis, Missouri to William Jr. and Margaret (nee Ruether) Sukovsky
and passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Missouri Baptist Hospital
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 69 years.
Margaret owned the Rt. 66 Café in Cuba for many years. She enjoyed
baking, cooking, gardening, animals and always decorated for the
holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret
Sukovsky.
She is survived by her children, Margie Kuhl of Leasburg, Missouri,
Mary and husband Michael Crecelius of Lonedell, Missouri, Joe Dothage
of Fletcher, Missouri, Michael and wife Sara Dothage of St. Louis,
Missouri, Marcus Dothage of Leasburg, Missouri and Christopher
Dothage of Leasburg, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; step grandchildren;
three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 9:30-10 a.m. at
the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri.
Celebration of Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at
the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba, Missouri with Father Francis
Doyle as celebrant.
Interment and prayers followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Cuba,
Missouri.

Missouri.
James David Sites
James David Sites of Centralia, Missouri was born May 22, 1941 in
St. James, Missouri to of Wilbur and Lela Barton Sites and passed
away at his home Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the age of 71 years.
On November 22, 1991 he was married in Eminence, Missouri to Paula
Lybarger.
James earned his Associate degree at Linn State Technical College,
Linn, Missouri. His first employment was at Pea Ridge Mine, Potosi,
Missouri. Following college he was employed at 3M Company, Columbia
for 30 years. He retired in 2005.
James was a volunteer at Missouri Veterans Home, Mexico, Missouri
for over 400 hours and had been honored and presented an award for
his service.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.
A family tribute “He was a humble and passionate man.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Lela Stites.
He is survived by his wife, Paula; a son, James Wesley Sites and wife,
Jerri of Washington, Missouri; two step-daughters, Tina Mitchell and
husband Cole of Holts Summit, Missouri and Shala Taylor and husband Troy
of Trementon, Utah; three grandchildren, Abigail Sites, Jonathan Sites
and Colton Mitchell; five siblings, Joyce Petty of Salem, Missouri,
Jack Sites of St. Clair, Missouri, Ron Sites of Spartanburg, South
Carolina, Judy Puckett of Hanna, Wyoming and Rick Sites of Salt Lake
City, Utah; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at a later date.

Arabelle Jean Wallis
Arabelle Jean Wallis, nee Halbert, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly
of Steelville, Missouri was born October 17, 1917 in Steelville,
Missouri to
Robert and Lillian Harmon Halbert and passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013
at the age of 95 years.
In June of 1935 in St. Charles, Missouri she was united in marriage to
Jesse Wallis.
Arabelle always enjoyed cooking, sewing and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lilian Halbert;
her husband, Jesse Wallis in 1995; two brothers, Jim Halbert and
wife Thelma and Glen Halbert; four sisters, Ruby Mann and husband
Bruce, Blanche Garcia, Mae Campbell and Dolly Alexander and husband
Noel.
She is survived by her one son, Richard Wallis and wife Patricia of
Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter, Donna Glenn and husband Don of
St. Albans, Missouri; one brother in-law, Al Campbell of Branson,
Missouri; two grandchildren, Debra Moore and husband Scott and Shari
Schwarts and husband Ed; four great-grandchildren, Haley Schwarts,
Kendall Schwarts, Tony Moore and Danielle Moore; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until time of service on Sunday,
ay 12, 2013 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville,
Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry
Beers officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace” was played.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Steelville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Jim Wallis, Ronnie Waller, Dean Wymer, Don
Hedrick, Danny Wallis and Tom Wallis.

Marvin E. Wycoff
Marvin E. Wycoff, of Columbia Missouri, was born on August 23, 1923
to Ida and Morris Wycoff and passed away May 9, 2013 at the age of
89 years.
He graduated from St. James High School, Class of 1941.
As a young man, during World War II, Marvin served in the US Army Air
Corps. He achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant and served as a
radio operator and waist gunner aboard a B-24 Liberator. His unit,
the 460th Bomb Group of the 15th Air Force, was stationed in
Szpinazzola Italy and flew missions throughout the European Theater.
On the last mission, July 19, 1944, his B-24 sustained considerable
battle damage and crashed in the German occupied French Alps. Marvin’s
service to his country was important to him and his family. During his
retirement, he was very active in the Lake St. Louis Chapter of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
On January 28, 1945 he married Marie Clara Marchi, of Rosati, Missouri.
After additional training in electronics, Marvin and Marie settled in
the St. Louis area and raised their family of three children in
Kirkwood Missouri.
Marvin was the sole proprietor of “Marv’s Television and Electronic
Service” for many years. Eventually, he became an electronics
technician/supervisor for the National Weather Service where he
held positions in St. Louis Missouri, Appleton Wisconsin, and
Bismarck North Dakota. After Bismarck, Marvin and Marie returned
to Missouri and settled in Lake St. Louis where he completed his
career with the Weather Service and retired.
Marvin and Marie were avid square dancers, and enjoyed boating and
fishing. Marvin also enjoyed hunting. Many of life’s lessons were
taught as a natural part of a family fishing trip. Marvin’s ho
me
water, Meramec Springs, was always very special to him and his
children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; brothers, Perry Wycoff
and Lawrence Wycoff; sister, Eunice Emory.
He is survived by his sister, Ruby Brewer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three
children, Ronald (Ruth Ann) Wycoff of Gainesville, Florida, Donald
(Wei) Wycoff of Columbia, Missouri and Sharon (Steve) Brading of
Sugarland, Texas; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 2-4 p.m.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 13, 2012 at the St. James
Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Don Carson
officiating.
Interment followed at the Immacualte Conception Catholic Cemetery
in St. James, Missouri with full military honors.
Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary,
St. James, Missouri.
