Ruth Marie Althage
Ruth Marie Althage (nee Hoemann) of Cuba, Missouri was born on
March 18, 1921 in Wichita, Kansas and passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012
at Life Care Center in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 91 years.
Ruth was united in marriage to Irvin Althage on June 9, 1951 in New Haven,
Missouri and to this union five children were born.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She
enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, quilting, playing the organ, singing,
walking and flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mathilda (Meyer)
Hoemann; two brothers, Francis and Roy Hoemann.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin Althage of Cuba, Missouri; five
children, Ronald and wife Belinda Althage of St. James, Missouri, Donald
Althage of Phoenix, Arizona, Barbara and husband James Kaufhold of Cuba,
Missouri, Sharon and husband Scott Heiner, Kay and husband William Olson,
all of San Antonia, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Cora and husband Emil
Menke of Union, Missouri and Fae Althage of Waco, Texas; 11 grandchildren;
nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 9 a.m. until time of
funeral service 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cuba, Missouri
with Pastor Gerald Wittmaier, officiating.
Interment followed at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.
Beverly K. Avery
Beverly K. Avery nee Dulaney of Owensville, Missouri, formerly of
Steelville, Missouri, was born on Thursday, July 30, 1942 in Steelville,
Missouri to Ralph and Ruth Olive Wyland Dulaney and passed away on
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home, Owensville,
Missouri at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 9 days.
Beverly married John William Avery on February 26, 1960 in Steelville,
Missouri and to this union three children were born.
She was a homemaker and loved her family. She enjoyed reading, working
with crafts, gardening, bird watching and appreciated all of nature,
especially the mountains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ruth Dulaney;
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Trezzie and Reabel Avery; brothers-in-law,
Charles Cook, Tom Suerig and Kenneth (Mildred) Avery and sister-in-law,
Grace (Al) Mallow.
She is survived by her husband, John Avery of Owensville, Missouri;
children, Jennie (Mark) Gale of Hermann, Missouri, Vicky (Charles) Bartee
of Pensacola, Florida, Cooper (Lisa) Avery of Whitney, Texas and Heather
(Chuck Schebaum) Avery of Owensville, Missouri; brothers, John (Linda)
Dulaney of Affton, Missouri, Willard (Frances) Dulaney of Cuba, Missouri
and Robert (Mary Lou) Dulaney of Fredricktown, Missorui; sisters-in-law,
Nellie Cook and Bessie (Don) Jackson, all of Ballwin, Missouri and Adele
Suerig of Robertsville, Missouri; grandchildren, Donja (Daniel) Marler, John
and Porsche Gale, and Mia Barker; great grandchildren, Maddie, K.C., John
Wayne, Michael, Zane and Levi; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Friday, May 11, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. and funeral service
on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.
Burial was at the Liberty Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.

Steelville, Missouri.
Henry L. Hayes
Henry L. Hayes was born Sunday, March 31, 1918 and passed away Monday,
February 27, 2012 at the age of 93 years.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Hayes of Cuba, Missouri; one daughter,
Ann and husband Gary Branson of Cuba, Missouri; one son, Dr. David and
wife Dr. Sharonne Hayes of Rochester, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Jeff
and wife Christi Branson of St. Charles, Missouri, Vickie Branson Johnson
of Bentonville, Arkansas, Andrew Hayes and Sarah Hayes of St. Charles,
Missouri; one sister, Vern Stiga of Rolla, Missouri; one sister-in-law,
Evelyn Hayes of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the
First Baptist Church of Cuba with Pastor Bob Knight officiating followed by
full military honors.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri.
Nancy Carol Isgriggs
Nancy Carol Isgriggs nee Bess of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday,
December 27, 1942 in Advance, Missouri to Wilbur and Magdelene Dunning Bess
and passed away at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri on
Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 6 days.
Nancy married Charles Eugene Isgriggs on July 14, 1962 in Advance, Missouri
and to this union one son was born.
She worked many years and retired as an accounts receivable bookkeeper
from a medical supplies company in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member
of the First Baptist Church, Hazelwood, Missouri and attended First Baptist
Church, Cuba, Missouri. She also was a member of the Indian Hills Ladies
Auxiliary Club and the Country Gals Extension Club. Her hobbies were reading,
working crossword puzzles, walking, traveling, going to the movies, playing
cards, dominoes and eating out with her friends, fishing and enjoying the
lake activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Magdelene Bess;
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Edith Isgriggs; husband,
Charles Eugene Isgriggs; brother, Gary Bess; brothers-in-law, Henry and
Clarence Isgriggs and Forest Nagle; and sister-in-law, Irene Harris.
She is survived by her son, Keith Isgriggs of St. Peters, Missouri; sister,
Peggy (Jack) Winchester of Maryland Heights, Missouri; sisters-in-law,
Dorothy Isgriggs and Alice Isgriggs of Steelville, Missouri and Sally Bess
of Advance, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 1-2 p.m. and memorial service is
at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri with Rev. Bob Knight officiating. Arrangements are under the
direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Devin Lee Jones
Devin Lee Jones of Rolla, Missouri was born on March 14, 1994 in Rolla,
Missouri to Tony and Shonnette (Walter) Jones and passed away Tuesday,
May 8, 2012 at the age of 18 years.
Devin was a senior at the Rolla High School. He loved deer hunting, fishing
and everything outdoors. He also enjoyed his jobs at Kokomo Joes and the
Zone. He loved hanging out with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manford and Bertha Jones
and his grandfather, James Walter.
He is survived by his parents, Tony and Shonnette Jones of Rolla, Missouri;
great grandmother, Sarah Maxwell of St. James, Missouri; three bothers,
Shane Walter of Virginia, Tristin Stimel of St. James, Missouri and Dakota
Jones of Rolla, Missouri; one sister, Kirstin Kidwell of Rolla, Missouri;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 beginning at 11 a.m. until
time of service at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
A graveside service was conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012
at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in rural Rolla with Nick Hohn officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home in
Rolla, Missouri.
Ronald Gene Metts
Ronald Gene Metts of Bourbon, Missouri was born July 30, 1935 in
Centerville, Illinois to Herbert and Laura Rogers Metts and passed away
Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Town and
Country, Missouri at the age of 76 years.
Ronald married Theresa Lorenz on July 15, 1991 in Union, Missouri.
Ronald worked as a bricklayer and belonged to the Local Bricklayers #1.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed his horse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Laura Metts and a
brother, Herbert Metts.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; three sons, Edward and wife Sandi of
House Springs, Missouri, Tracy and wife Michaele of House Springs, Missouri
and Ronald Metts; daughter, Shannon Metts of Bourbon, Missouri; brother,
John and wife Carol Metts of Union, Missouri; three grandchildren, Edward
Metts, A.J. Metts and Brittany Sweat; five great grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Eaton Funeral Chapel in
Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral service was Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Chapel with burial in
Chapel Hill Cemetery in Cedar Hill, Missouri. Arrangements under the
direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Vivian M. Slovensky
Vivian M. Slovensky, nee Campbell, of Steelville, Missouri was born on
Monday, September 12, 1921 in Cherryville, Missouri to Francis and Margaret
Sarah Wilkenson Campbell and passed away in her home on Friday, May 4, 2012
at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 22 days.
Vivian married Henry Thomas Slovensky on November 21, 1940 in Cherryville,
Missouri and to this union four children were born.
Vivian worked several years and retired from Brown Shoe Industry in
Steelville, Missouri. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church,
Steelville, Missouri and served as the librarian for many years. Her
hobbies were crocheting, camping, gardening, working in her flowerbed
and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Margaret Campbell;
husband, Henry; daughter, Joyce Marie Slovensky; brothers, Everett (Faye)
Campbell, Glen (Sybil) Campbell, Delmar Campbell, Anna Jane (Lester) Gray,
James (Fern) Campbell and Kenneth Campbell; great great grandson, Simon
Slovensky; sister-in-law, Luna Slovensky; brothers-in-law, Gerald Stephens
and Earnest Slovensky.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Donna) Slovensky and Ronald (Tena)
Slovensky, all of Steelville, Missouri and Terry (Sally) Slovensky of St.
Charles, Missouri; brother, Edward (Fern) Campbell of Steelville, Missouri;
sister, Mary Lue Stephens of Salem, Missouri; brother-in-law, Edward
Slovensky of Fair Oaks, California; sister-in-law, Arline Slovensky of
Montgomery City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren;
two great great grandchildren; two great twin granddaughters due in
September; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, May 7, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. and funeral service on
Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating. Elizabeth and Tena Slovensky
shared a Eulogy. Thomas Slovensky read the obituary and sang with Paul
Hutson, “Unclouded Day,” “I’ll Fly Away” and “In the Garden.”
Burial was at the Liberty Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Thomas Slovensky Jr., LaDonna, Elizabeth, Karen and Andrew
Slovensky, Jennifer Berry, Lindsay Farrar and Margaret Labbee. Honoray
pallbearers Diane Adams and Tim Farrar. Arrangements under the direction
of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Gwendolyn Isabella Summers
Gwendolyn Isabella Summers of Marietta, Georgia, formerly of Bourbon,
Missouri, was born in DeSoto, Missouri and passed away on Saturday,
May 5, 2012 at the age of 79 years.
She was a retired restaurateur. Gwen loved cooking for her family and
spending time gardening. She had a sense of adventure and lived an active
life to the end.
She was preceded in death by her spouses, Harry Penninger, Sr. and Scotty
Lee Summers.
She is survived by her children, Rudy (Donna) Muzzarelli of San Antonio,
Texas, Harry (Tracy) Penninger of Marietta, Georgia, Donna McDowell of
Dawsonville, Georgia and Bourbon, Missouri and John (Lisa) Summers of
Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Wells of Mableton,
Georgia, Jennessa (Nathan) Peterson of Sugar Hill, Georgia, JR Flanagan of
Marietta, Georgia, Stephanie Wells of Marietta, Georgia, Marc Muzzarelli of
San Antonio, Texas, William Penninger of Marietta, Georgia, Michael
Muzzarelli of San Antonio, Texas, Melissa (Clay) Stokes of Marietta, Georgia
and Savanah Flanagan of Marietta, Georgia; 12 great grandchildren;
sisters-in-law, Pat Bartlett of Warner Robins, Georgia and Lois Anderson
of Hiram, Georgia; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marietta, Georgia.
Inurnment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in
St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Arrangements under the direction of the West Cobb Funeral Home in
Marietta, Georgia.
Norman George Theurer
Norman George Theurer of St. Louis, Missouri. formerly of Leasburg,
Missouri, was born to George Rudolph and Marie Christine (Rehn) Theurer
on January 28, 1917 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Saturday,
May 5, 2012 at Mary Queen and Mother Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the
age of 95 years.
Norman retired as a Construction Supervisor for the Metropolitan Sewer
District in St. Louis after many years of dedicated service. He was Past
Master of Kirkwood Lodge #484 A.F. & A.M. and in his spare time he enjoyed
woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Theurer; wife,
Thelma V. (Nye) Theurer; one brother-in-law, James DeLassus.
He is survived by his sister, Marie DeLassus of St. Louis, Missouri; two
nephews, Paul and wife Mary Delassus, Richard Delassus and special friend,
Barbara Hartman, all of St. Louis, Missouri; one niece, Kathryn DeLassus of
St. Louis, Missouri; three great nephews, Gregory, Jon Paul and Jason
DeLassus, all of St. Louis, Missouri.
As per his wishes cremation rites were accorded.

Geraldine M. Wills
Geraldine M. Wills (nee Moore) was born December 29, 1924 in Gideon,
Missouri to George and Isa Lena Moore and passed away May 6, 2012 at
the age of 87 years.
Geraldine married Charles F. Wills on November 2, 1942 and to this union
four children were born.
Geraldine was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved going to Church, singing
the praises of the Lord and reading her Bible. She was a member of Rivers
of Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Isa Moore; grandsons,
Richard Lee Newcomb Jr. and Anthony Scott Farris; and son-in-law, Ed Farris.
She is survived by her four daughters, Sandra Farris of St. Louis,
Missouri, Charlotte (Larry) Lynch of Wappapello, Missouri, Debra (Mike)
Barbee of Steelville, Missouri and Vicki Limpert of Steelville, Missouri;
nine grandchildren, Terry, Gary, Donna, Kelly, Tatia, Jerry, Robert, Melissa
and Jaime; two brothers, George Moore Jr. and Billy Moore; one sister,
Virginia Phillips; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral service by Pastor Henry Copling.
Interment was at the Shephard Hills Cemetery in Barnhart, Missouri.
