Linda attended Harlem High School. She worked as a realtor for Century 21 and as a jewelry consultant at Walmart on Northridge, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ferley Mae Hayenga; daughter, Andrea Thorpe; sisters, Rosemary Hollenbaugh, June Tucker, Beverly Janssen and Bonnie Taylor; and brother, Virgil Hayenga. David Lee Dove David Lee Dove of St. Clair, Missouri was born in Belleville, Illinois on September 4, 1930 to Jesse Coleman and Evelyn Dove (nee Perkins) and passed away on May 8, 2016 at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 4 days. On September 11, 1954 he married Louise Helen Holz. David was a devoted Christian and active member of the United Methodist Church in St. Clair, Missouri. David served the church on many committees. He was proud to have served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force, entering Force reserves and received his honorable discharge October 22, 1959. David received his degree as a Registered Pharmacist, and after his discharge began his working career in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1982, he relocated his family and worked in Steelville, Missouri until 1989, when he bought the Viburnum Drug Store in Viburnum, Missouri. He owned and managed the store until he retired in 1999, having worked as a Registered Pharmacist for 62 years. He was a member of the Missouri Pharmacist Association and the American Pharmacist Association. David was also a Mason and member of the Lebanon Lodge #77, having been initiated February 20, 1988, passed July 23, 1988, and raised September 17, 1988. In his younger years, he had enjoyed going fishing. He had a fondness for animals and he always enjoyed the companionship of a cat. He was passionate about genealogy and history and was an avid reader. He also had a keen interest in the study of minerals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Evelyn Dove; and one brother, Glen R. Dove. Jack William Greig Jack William Greig of St. James, Missouri was born in St. James, Missouri on October 16, 1937 to Edward and Gertrude (Adams) Greig and passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the age of 78 years. Jack spent most of his working career as an insurance salesman. This was a job he enjoyed because it let him get out of the office and meet people in their homes or over coffee in a local cafˇ. It was a job that Jack was well suited for, because he was such a people person who always enjoyed a good joke and of course a good laugh. He also loved to entertain at his home where he was of course the self proclaimed "King of the Grill." His "grilling" skills were put to the test many times over the years. He also loved horseback riding and really enjoyed the spring through the fall getting out on the trails with the all the horse friends he met through the years. he was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gertrude Greig; brothers, Ed Grieg, Dale Greig; and an infant brother. He is survived by his daughters, Carman Englis and special friend Don Esker of St. Louis, Missouri and Jacque Greig and husband Kevin of St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughter, Allie Robinson and husband Justin; brother, Laverne Greig and wife Doris of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends. James Earl "Jimmy" Mallow James Earl "Jimmy" Mallow of Bourbon, Missouri was born on March 9, 1953 at Leasburg, Missouri to Kenneth Earl and Edith Lorene West Mallow and passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the age of 63 years. Jimmy, as he was known by his family and friends, had lived his entire life in the Bourbon and Leasburg, Missouri areas. Jimmy was known as the "Can Man" around town as he was always collecting cans along the roadways and doing his part to keep the area clean. He always thought about others and would never spend his money on himself but on his friends when they needed help. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and had participated in the Special Olympics in bowling. He had also worked at the sheltered workshop in Cuba, Missouri and for a time in the shelter in Sullivan, Missouri. He is survived by his mother, Edith Protte of Bourbon, Missouri; six brothers, Billy Mallow of Killeen, Texas, Roger Protte and wife Peggy of Leasburg, Missouri, Robert Protte Jr. of Bourbon, Missouri, Gary Protte and wife Stephanie of Leasburg, Missouri, Stanley Protte and Kevin Protte both of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Stotler and Betty Gargus both of Bourbon, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Sarah Lou Mattox Sarah Lou Mattox of Bourbon, Missouri was born at Center, Arkansas on December 10, 1931 to Andrew and Cora (Worthington) Armstrong and passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 27 days. She was one of 10 children born into this family. At the age of 19, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri to find work and lived with her sister, Wanda Lee, at a boarding house. Sherwood Mattox moved to St. Louis, Missouri from Bourbon, Missouri seeking employment and lived with his sister who operated the boarding house Wanda Lee lived in. Sarah met Sherwood there and on September 1, 1950 they were united in marriage and to this union three children were born. They moved back to the family farm near Anthony's Mill. Sarah was a woman of strong and enduring faith in her God, Jehovah. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as they too serve Jehovah. Sarah was one of six original members of the Sullivan, Missouri congregation. Sarah was a very domestic woman and always put the interests and needs of her family first. She was also an excellent gardener and raised everything from green beans and tomatoes to roses. She is survived by her husband, Sherwood; two daughters, Kathy Mantle and Tammy Brock; one son, Joe Mattox; sister, Bonnie Spurlock; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Sullivan, Missouri Sonya Marie Tucker Sonya Marie Tucker of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Sullivan, Missouri on August 17, 1979 to Glen and Kathy (Hulsey) Tucker and passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at the age of 36 years. She attended Sullivan School and graduated in 1997. During her youth, Sonya enjoyed participating in Girl Scouts (achieving her Gold Award) and GMAs (Girls missionary auxiliary). She was saved at the age of 12 at home and baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 21. Sonya enjoyed helping in the nursery, teaching VBS and Children's Church. A love for teaching children was born and she went on to earn her Bachelors degree at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri in Vocational Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS), a minor in Child Development and a 7th-12th grade teaching certificate. Sonya's first four years of teaching was at the Crawford County R1 School District in Bourbon, Missouri teaching high school FACS. She went on to achieve a Master's degree in Secondary Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. Her next 10 years were spent with the Webster Groves School District teaching FACS at the Hixson Middle School. Sonya was tenured while at Hixson as well as held Department Chair for several years. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen; and grandparents, Roscoe Hulsey and Loyd and Susie Tucker. Susie Bridgeman Verme Susie Bridgeman Verme of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 19, 1921 at Ravenden, Arkansas to Samuel and Lora (Emmons) Jones and passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the age of 95 years. She was raised in Cuba, Missouri in her youth and later moved to the Sullivan, Missouri area. In 1935 she married Frank Otto Bridgeman and to this marriage six children were born. This marriage ended in divorce and in March of 1983 she married Anthony Verme. Susie was employed at various shoe companies which included the former International Shoe Company, Midwest Shoe Company and the shoe factory in Cuba. She later became employed at Paramount Headwear in Bourbon, Missouri where she later retired. Susie enjoyed watching cooking shows on TV, making quilts and especially reading her bible. She was a devoted mother and good Christian lady who was a member of New Testament Baptist Church of Sullivan, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lora Jones; two grandsons, Russell Bridgeman and Brian Blankenship; four brothers, Judge, Noel, Virgil and Bud Jones; two half-brothers, Ray Cavet and Chris Jackson; and half sister-in-law, Lottie Holland. Walker of Fenton, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 16, 1936 to Jewell Goltra and Mary Louise Walker (nee Hogue) and passed away May 11, 2016, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 25 days. On August 24, 1963, he was united in marriage to Doris Eileen Pursley. Harold was a Christian and member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Grubville, Missouri. As a young man he had attended Lighthouse Free Methodist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Harold was proud to have served his country in the United States Army, entering on December 5, 1958 and receiving his honorable discharge on December 2, 1960. During his working career he was employed by General Motors Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri, retiring after 30+ years of service. Harold was an active man with many hobbies and interests. He loved to play gospel, even playing guitar with the Lester Gospel Band, which led to his meeting Doris. Harold enjoyed bowling when he was younger. In more recent years he enjoyed woodworking, doing jigsaw puzzles and watching old westerns on television, especially Bonanza and Gunsmoke. He loved to attend his grandchildren's baseball tournaments during the summer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Mary Walker. Harold is survived by his wife, Doris Walker of Fenton, Missouri; daughter, Sandra Gibbons of Pacific, Missouri; three grandchildren, Christopher, Logan and Alyssa Gibbons, all of Pacific.
