Linda F. Amrhein
Linda F. Amrhein, nee McIlvoy passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 at
St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Couer, Missouri, at
the age of 51 years. She was a retired owner of a clothing retail
store in Steelville.
Mrs. Amrhein was born November 16, 1953 in St. Louis,
Missouri to James McIlvoy and Roberta McIlovy, nee Stanford, both
are now deceased.
She is survived by a son, Russell J. Reeves, of
Normandy, Missouri, a daughter, Crystal G. Amhrein of Steelville,
Missouri and a brother, Terry McIlvoy of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Three grandchildren, Wesley James Reeves, Rayna Fay
Reeves and David Donald Swyers.
A memorial service was held at Apostolic Church of Jesus
Christ, Overland, Missouri on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 10 a.m.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Baumann
Colonia Chapel of Overland, Missouri.
Thomas Franklin Coleman II
Thomas Coleman, of Owensville, Missouri, son of Tom
Coleman Sr. of Leasburg, Missouri and Donna Jean Coleman, of
Portland, Oregon, was born on August 13, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri
and entered into rest on May 6, 2005 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of
25 years.
Thomas Coleman II was dearly loved and will be greatly
missed by his surviving family; wife, Danielle of St. Charles,
Missouri; daughter Britney Coleman, of St. Charles, Missouri; father
Thomas Coleman Sr. and wife Kellie, of Leasburg, Missouri; mother
Donna Jean Coleman, of Portland, Oregon.
Brothers, Jimmie Coleman, of Maplewood, Missouri and
Brandon Coleman of Leasburg, Missouri. Grandparents Deloris and
Donald Coleman, all of Leasburg, Missouri.
Thomas was preceded in death by his maternal
grandparents, James and Betty Jean Reddick.
Funeral services for Thomas were held Wednesday, May 11,
2005 at 11 a.m. at the James & Gahr Chapel in St. James with Rev.
Larry Davis officiating, and music provided by Connie Rhea and Kathy
Coleman.
Pallbearers were Ron Coleman, Jim Coleman, Jimmy
Coleman, Chris Coleman, Leo Ronan, and Chris Durn.
Interment in the Adams Cemetery in Phelps County,
Missouri immediately following the service. Visitation for family
and friends of Thomas Coleman II was held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005
from 6-8 p.m. at the James & Gahr Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the James &
Gahr Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
Doris Marlene King
Doris Marlene King of St. James, Missouri was born on
February 4, 1938 to the union of Wildie King and Marie M. Lea King
and passed away on May 6, 2005 at the Phelps County Regional Medical
Center of Rolla, Missouri at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 2
days.
Doris was preceded in death by her father Wildie King,
mother Marie M. Counley and one brother Wayne King. She was also
preceded in death by her special grandmother Mary (Mae) Lea who gave
so many years of her life, caring for Doris with love, patience and
gentleness.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life
are her sister Rhonda Munro and husband Rudy; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and the dedicated staff of the St. James Nursing Center,
where she was a resident for almost 20 years.
Graveside services for Doris Marlene King were held on
Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri at 11
a.m. with the Rev. Paul Lathum officiating.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
John Eugene Massey
John Eugene Massey was born Wednesday, September 7, 1910
at Crane, Missouri, a son of the late James Fredrick Massey and
Myrtle Massey (nee Gipson).
He departed this life Friday, May 6, 2005 at his home in
Rocky Mount, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 29 days.
On May 18, 1935 at the home of the bride, in Steelville,
Missouri, John was united in marriage to Kathryn Nichols. Three
sons, Paul, David and Don, were born to this union. They would soon
celebrate 70 joyful years together.
John was a charger member of the Steelville First
Assembly of God Church. He remained faithful and dedicated to the
work of the church throughout his life.
He owned and operated a shoe store and shoe repair shop
in Steelville for 45 years.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death
by three brothers, Carrol Massey and wife Dora, Chester Massey and
wife Bessie, and James Massey; sister-in-law Edna (Mrs. Joe) Massey,
and brothers-in-law Claude Jones and Harvey Adcock.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife
Kathryn of the home in Rocky Mount, Missouri; three sons, Paul
Massey and wife Carol of Acworth, Georgia, David Massey and wife
Nancy of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Don Massey and wife Pat of Rocky
Mount, Missouri.
Two brothers, Rev. Joe Massey of Steelville, Missouri
and Rev. Darrel Massey and wife Becky of Rocky Mount, Missouri; one
sister, Selma Adcock of Larmar, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Louise
(Mrs. James) Massey of Kansas City, Missouri.
Nine grandchildren, seven step grandchildren; 16 great
grandchildren; 21 step great grandchildren and one step great great
granddaughter; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and
friends.
John Eugene Massey lay in state 2-8 p.m. Sunday, May 8,
2005 at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 at
the Assembly of God Church, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Roger
Perkin officiating and Rev. Jerry Beers and Rev. Don Massey
assisting. A granddaughter, Karen Jensen, gave a eulogy.
Musical selections were provided by pianist Sharon
Hardecke and vocalist Paul Massey, Anita and Bob Cunningham and a
tape of John singing, accompanying himself on the guitar was played.
Committal prayers and interment was in the Steelville
Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. Honoring their grandfather as
pallbearers were Brian Massey, Brad Massey, Donald Massey, Aaron
Massey, Jerry Hanson and Marti Gooch.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Gertrude A. Pellegrin
Gertrude A. Pellegrin, Hazelwood, Missouri, formerly of
Steelville, passed away Monday, April 25, 2005 at Missouri Baptist
Hospital, at the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Pellegrin was born December 9, 1914 at St. Louis,
Missouri to Elmar Rogers Smith and Peter Paul Smith. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Frank Pellegrin.
Three sons survive her, Paul of St. Louis, Missouri, tom
of Houston, Texas and Bob of Rolla, Missouri.
She had six grandchildren, Paul, Dina, Mike, Jill, Joe
and Matt.
Services were held April 29, 2005 at St. Monica Church.
Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of
Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home.
Gary Lee Turnbough
Gary Lee Turnbough of Cherryville, Missouri, was born on
Sunday, November 16, 1941 in Sligo, Missouri to Louie Turnbough and
Wilma Pitts Turnbough. He passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at
Sullivan Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 63 years, 5
months and 18 days.
Gary married Darlene Hazel Green in Cherryville,
Missouri on September 5, 1959 and to this union three children were
born.
Gary had his own automotive business in Cherryville,
Missouri. He was ordained a deacon on April 27, 1975 at Wesco
Baptist Church, Wesco, Missouri. He was a member of Cherryville
Baptist Church where he was a deacon, former Sunday School
Superintendent, taught Sunday School and Church Training. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing, camping and racing. Gary loved his dogs and had a
great sense of humor. He especially enjoyed spending time with his
family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Clyde
Green.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife
Darlene of the home; children Jeff Turnbough and wife Tonya, Kip
Turnbough and wife Tracy, Melody Turnbough Allen and husband Tim of
Sullivan, Missouri.
Father, Louie Turnbough and wife Almyra of Rosebud,
Missouri; mother Wilma Bell of Cherryville, Missouri.
Sisters, Dixie Bobbitt (Joe) of Cherryville, Missouri;
Vicki Brown (Jack) of Davisville, Missouri, Cindy Mistler (Jim) of
Rosebud, Missouri. Brothers, Alan Turnbough (Karen) of St. Clair,
Missouri, Neil Turnbough (Tina) of Owensville, Missouri, Kent
Turnbough (Rea) of Rosebud, Missouri. Stepbrother Melvin Adams
(Rose) of Rosebud, Missouri; stepsister, Brenda Bradshaw of
Washington, Missouri.
Mother-in-law, Geneva Green of Cherryville, Missouri;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan Green (Linda) of Steelville,
Missouri, Lindell Green (Sharon) of Cuba, Missouri, Bob Green (Gail)
of Cherryville, Missouri, Rosalie Calkins (Gary) of Sullivan,
Missouri.
Grandchildren, Jarod Harmon (Kristi), Gary Pennington
(Krystal), Timothy Turnbough (Lisa), Tabitha Turnbough, Chris
Turnbough, Autumn Turnbough, Melody Rose Turnbough and Eric Allen.
Great grandchildren, Douglas Harmon, Kaytlyn Harmon and
Marisa Crader; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was Thursday, May 5, 2005 from 5-9 p.m. at
Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were
Friday, May 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri with Brother Jim Umfress and Brother Delmar Hutson
officiating. Burial at Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville,
Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Martha Annette Ware
Martha Annette Ware, nee Camerer, was born Wednesday,
October 2, 1946, in Green County, Illinois, a daughter of the late
Darrell Camerer and Frances Camerer (nee Koeling).
She departed this life Monday, May 9, 2005, at the
Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Sullivan, Missouri, at the age to
58 years, 7 months and 7 days.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
and infant daughter, Laurie Lynn Strowmatt and her father-in-law,
Franklin Ware.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her
loving husband, Virvine Ware of the home on White River Road,
Steelville, Missouri.
Three daughters, Jeanne Austin of East Alton, Illinois,
Rhonda and husband John Barks of Alton, Illinois, Lori Strowmatt and
friend John Adams of Dillard, Missouri.
Mother-in-law Fannie Ware of Cherryville, Missouri; one
brother, Phillip Camerer and fiancee Beverly Henson of Eldred,
Illinois; one step-son, Rodney Ware and wife Debbie of Sullivan,
Missouri; two step-daughters, Rebecca Kay Stricklin and husband Mike
of St. Clair, Missouri and Laura Ware of Joshua, Texas.
Grandchildren, Rikki Watts and Chase Ware of the home,
Bryan Strowmatt, Camille Demond, Lauren Austin, and Elijah Ryan;
step-grandchildren, Ashley and Scotty Pelton, Kara and Katie
Stricklin, Kayle Ware, Viola Kayes, Samantha and Mikki Watring and
Alicia McWilliams.
Also remaining are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Leonard Ware of Bourbon, Missouri, Curtis and Grace Ware, Loyd and
Jackie Ware all of Cherryville, Missouri, Bill and Maryln Ware of
Steelville and Judy and Jim Loveless of Cuba, Missouri; nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Martha gave her life to Christ, was baptized and became
a member of First Baptist Church, Hettick, Illinois. She attended
faithfully at First Baptist Church, Cherryville, Missouri.
Martha Annette Ware lay in state 4-8 p.m. Friday, May
13, 2005, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14,
2005, in the Britton Chapel with Rev. James Umfrees officiating.
Musical selections were provided by vocalist Rebecca Stricklin and
Patti Campbell. Steve Eads accompanied them on the guitar.
Committal prayers and interment were in Roselawn
Cemetery, Bethalto, Illinois with John Britton officiating. Serving
as pallbearers were Rikki Watts, Bryon Strowmatt, Craig Camerer,
Rodney Ware, John Barks, John Adams and Mike Stricklin.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Virgie M. White
Virgie M. White, daughter of the late Elbert Langston
and Sarah (Jones) Langston, was born on January 26, 1912 in Cave
City, Arkansas and entered into rest on May 11, 2005 in St. James,
Missouri at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 16 days.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers,
Olan, Raymond and Rowe Langston; two sisters, Anna McGruder and
Audrey Stroud.
Virgie was a member of the Methodist Church in St.
James, member of the Order of Eastern Star and was active in the
Senior Champion Program.
Virgie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by
her surviving family, son Jimmie White, and special friend Linda
Gilder, of St. James. Grandson, Tony Earls and wife Linda; nieces
Ruth Burke, Rowe Etta Burns, Joyce Cannon and Linda Bramlette;
nephews Parry and Loy McGruder.
Visitation for family and friends of Virgie White was
Sunday, May 15, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at the James and Gahr Chapel, St.
James, Missouri.
Funeral services for Virgie White were held on Monday,
May 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the James and Gahr Chapel with Rev. Amy
Turner officiating. Music was provided by Connie and Hal Rhea and
Jim Highfill.
Pallbearers were James Highfill, David Watkins, Charles
Walls, Larry Pitts, Leo Cardetti and Nick Harris.
Interment in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri immediately
following the service.
All arrangements were under the direction of the James
and Gahr Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
