Gary Lee Davis Gary Lee Davis of Cuba, Missouri was born in Rolla, Missouri on Monday, October 2, 1944 to Bazil E. and Ethel M. Taylor Davis and passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 5 days. Gary lived in Cuba, Missouri most of his life. He married Marita A. Koch on June 10, 1967 in DeSoto, Missouri. He began working as a welder for McCarthy Construction in St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of the Local #513. His hobby was gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bazil and Ethel Davis; wife, Marita Koch Davis; and brothers, David and Keith Davis. David Carl Kirkwood David Carl Kirkwood of Boss, Missouri was born October 1, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri to Luther Carl Jr. and Margaret Halbert Kirkwood and passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 9 days. David was raised by his grandparents, George and Irene Gibbs. On August 8, 1980 in Boss, Missouri he married Debbie Sutton. David was employed at AMAX Lead Company for 13 years and a former member of the United Steelworkers. He was also the owner of Kirkwood Welding & Machine for many years. David was a hard worker and excelled as a welder and fabricator. He loved horses and going on many a trail ride. He enjoyed traveling out west, camping, fishing, hunting turkey and hunting deer. When his children were young, he coached their Little League team. He enjoyed playing in softball tournaments and when he was younger he also played basketball. He worked for the St. Louis County Library System for many years in the maintenance department. He moved to Cuba, Missouri in 1992 with his girlfriend, Patricia Pendergrass. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, gardening, drawing and making wine. Cheryl graduated from Cuba High School on June 1, 1965 and went on to attend Women's Christian College, where she received an Associate's Degree. Cheryl met her husband, Michael Peck in Columbia, Missouri while attending College. They were married on May 28, 1965. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Cheryl and Mike enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their family. She had a passion for gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian (Adams) Brummet. Smith Jr. was born February 17, 1942 in Laurel, Mississippi to Daniel Walter and Zetta Sarah Wheelis Smith Sr. and passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Dan, as he was know by his family and friends, or "Dangerous Dan" if you were around Dan much, loved to be around people. He loved to joke and tease people. He had many hobbies. His biggest hobby was collecting old cars. He had a great collection along with one of the biggest garages to store them in. Often times you would see Dan's yellow 1959 Cadillac or his old Ford Convertible at the Tourist Information Center. Dan spent many hours with his good friend and neighbor, Dennis Hicks, swapping stories, going to car shows and keeping the "collection" running. He was currently working as a building and grounds assistant at the Missouri State Highway Patrol and he was driving Bus # 33 for the Rolla Public Schools. He loved to visit with the kids. He previously worked for the City of St. James at the Tourist Information Center and for the Jones Funeral Home as a funeral assistant/driver. He was active in the community as a volunteer at the Missouri Veterans Home and St. James Caring Center. He worshiped at the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri where he drove the church bus. Before he retired and moved to St. James, Missouri Dan owned and operated Fire Works, Inc., a fire sprinkler company in St Louis, Missouri. He was a Master Sprinkler Fitter and also a Certified Reserve Police Officer as a Lieutenant in Jennings, Missouri. He attended Hazelwood High School and attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. On February 14, 2018 in Mexico, Missouri she married Randy Wasson. Rita was a member of the Winkler Baptist Church. She loved playing music whether it was on the banjo, piano, mandolin, guitar or fiddle, she was blessed by an amazing talent. Rita also loved to paint, to garden and crocheting. When she was a young girl she loved horses and participating in horse shows.
