MO Local Obituaries for the Week of May 21, 2014 Kathryn Mayall "Kate" Baker Kathryn Mayall "Kate" Baker of St. Louis, Missouri was born to Urban and Frances (Johnson) Tihen on May 31, 1925 in Jefferson City, Missouri and passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Kate was a graduate of Washington University having obtained a BA. She worked a number of years as a Research Lab Assistant in St. Louis and later worked as a Clerk/Instructor at the Checkered Flag Hobby Center in Ballwin, Missouri. She honorably served her country in U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, macramˇ and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents, Urban and Frances Tihen; one daughter, Vadan Baker; one sister, Frances Tihen. She is survived by two daughters, Laurie and husband Steve Kramer of Phoenix, Arizona and Holly Baker of Pevely, Missouri; five grandchildren, Alina and Aidan Bain, Kyle Baker, Kenny and wife Yvette Kramer and Libby and husband Jon Ryan; one great grandchild, Silas Grey; one nephew, Christopher Jamison and one niece, Ann Jamison, both of Syracuse, New York; other relatives and friends. Memorial visitation was held on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Memorial service with military honors was held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Hillsboro Christian Church in Hillsboro, Missouri with Bro. Ken Vogel, officiating. Food and fellowship followed the service. In keeping with her wishes, Kate was cremated. Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Irl David Darrough Irl David Darrough of Cuba, Missouri was born to Charles Henry and Dolores (Vocks) Darrough on January 28, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the age of 57 years. Irl worked many years as a Pipefitter in the St. Louis area, having worked for Gaines Heating and Air Conditioning, Daganhardt Heating and Air Conditioning, St. Louis School Board. He enjoyed living at Indian Hills, where he was able to go fishing and make many friends. Irl was a handyman, enjoyed watching sports and going on float trips on the Meramec and Huzzah Rivers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dolores Darrough; one brother, Charles Darrough; two sisters-in-law, Virginia and Doris Darrough. He is survived by his fiancˇe Judy Dablemont of Cuba, Missouri; two sons, Jason Allen and Jeffrey Scott Darrough, both of St. Louis, Missouri; one grandson, Kaynen Darrough; four brothers, John Darrough of Cuba, Missouri, James and wife Marjorie Darrough of Warrenton, Missouri, Joseph Darrough of St. Louis, Missouri, Bruce Darrough and wife Cynthia Pilling of Wildwood, Missouri; sister-in-law, Karen Darrough of St. Peters, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Lloyd Allen Eoff Lloyd Allen Eoff of Owensville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, April 18, 1945 in Bourbon, Missouri to James Mills and Hazel Gladine Osborne Eoff and passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the age of 69 years and 26 days. Lloyd had previously attended the Assembly of God Church in Bourbon, Missouri. He enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Eoff; brothers, Robert Eoff and James Eoff; sister, Gladine (Jim) Land and brother-in-law, Bill Cook. He is survived by his sons, Derek (Susanne) Eoff of Belle, Missouri and Joe D. Eoff of Bourbon, Missouri; brothers Leroy (Helen) Eoff and Albert (Judy) Eoff, all of Bourbon, Missouri; sisters, Bonnnie Bachover, Dorothy (John) Veach and Della Cook, all of Cuba, Missouri and Ruth (Ron) Roach of Sullivan, Missouri; grandchildren, Kristofer, Kolton, and Taylor Eoff; great grand- daughter, Aubrey Eoff; other relatives and friends. Johnnie Carl Jones Johnnie Carl Jones of Rolla, Missouri was born on July 24, 1951 in Rolla, Missouri to Johnnie E. Jones and Virginia L. Earls and passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 62 years. He married Betty June (Shaw) Jones who preceded him in death on March 7, 2012. He is survived by two brothers, Calvin Jones and wife Nadine of Rolla, Missouri and Melvin Jones and wife Betty of St. James, Missouri; one sister, Shirley Pierce of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri. Funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri. Interment followed in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Gilbert LeRoy Sturdevant Gilbert LeRoy Sturdevant of Salem, Missouri was born on Monday, June 4, 1928 in Dewey, South Dakota to Earl L. and Helen Bown Sturdevant and passed away in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 13 days. Gilbert married JoAnna Sawyer in Hardy, Arkansas on March 26, 1948 and to this union two sons was born. Gilbert worked as a designer for Benkley Corporation, Warrenton, Missouri and retired after 28 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Sligo, Missouri. His hobbies were gardening, woodworking, cooking, and playing with his pet animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Sturdevant; infant son, Ronald Sturdevant; sister, Earline (Benny) Hall; brothers, Gerald and Charles Sturdevant; brothers-in-law, William Runtz, Lowell Pfiefer and Tom Hogan.
