Perri Lee Brooks
Perri Lee Brooks of Belle, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was
born in St. Joseph, Missouri on December 3, 1943 to George and
Charlotte Brooks and passed away at his home on May 5, 2013 at the
age of 69 years, 5 months and 2 days.
Perri joined the United States Marine Corps in 1961, serving his tour
in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge in 1965, Perri was married
three times; first to Barbra, and then to Linda and finally to Carolyn,
giving him eight children, and 17 grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
He enjoyed fishing watching Nascar and spending time with his
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Charlotte Brooks
and his brother, Watson Brooks.
He is survived by his brother, Oliver; three sisters, Margret, Jodi
and Billy Jo; children, Perri Lee Brooks II and wife Maggie,
Christopher Lane Brooks and wife Kasey, Valerie Marie Tamashiro and
husband Michael, Todd Lee Brooks, Sheri Lynn Galon and husband Stephen,
Angie Kay Brooks, Timothy Scott Workman, and Lee-Ann Brooks; grand-
children, Dalton, Shelby and Ashton; Kirsten, Mitchel and Delaney;
Michael, Shantal and Hunter; Kristopher; Dalton, Riley, Lai, Cameron,
Sienna and Trinity; one great grandson, Kamakana; other relatives and
friends.
Russel Dean Brown
Russel Dean Brown of St. James, Missouri was born on July 22, 1946 in
Phelps County, Missouri to Kenneth and Emma (Huskey) Brown and passed
away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the age of 66 years.
Dean enjoyed sports, especially Cardinal’s baseball and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Lucille Brown and
one sister, Lucille.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Brown and girlfriend Heather
Covington of St. James, Missouri and Chris Brown and wife Gina of
Kirkwood, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie Brown and boyfriend Kevin
Clune of Columbia, Missouri and Jeanette Brown and fiancé Bryan
Holland, Jr. of Bourbon, Missouri; four brothers, James Brown and
wife Doris of St. James, Missouri, Jerry Brown of St. Louis,
Missouri, Terry Brown of St. Louis, Missouri and Denny Brown and
wife Karen of Rolla, Missouri; one sister, Kay Sands of St. James,
Missouri; seven grandchildren, Eric Brown, Bridgett Wilcox,
S tephanie Wilcox, Charles Benton, Jr., Peyton Brown, Gage Holland
and Bryan Holland, III; the mothers of his children, Barbara Brown
and Mary Gregory; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013
at the Null and Son Funeral Home, Rolla, Missouri.
Funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday,
May 16, 2013 at the Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla, Missouri.
Interment followed in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Rodney “Rod” Eugene Collier
Rodney “Rod” Eugene Collier of Cuba, Missouri was born
October 16, 1960 in Steelville, Missouri to Garland Gene and Mary
Ruth Harris Collier Haffer and passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at
the age of 52 years.
He was united in marriage in 1987 to Tina Marie Ryno.
Rod worked in construction when his health permitted. He always
enjoyed working on his cars and trucks and camping.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Gene Collier; and
one son, Joshua Collier.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Collier of Cuba, Missouri; his
mother, Ruth Haffer and husband Walter of Cuba, Missouri; two sons,
Jeremy Collier and wife Jenna of Kansas City, Missouri and Jake
Collier and wife Tina of Cuba, Missouri; one daughter, Melissa
Williamson and husband Jason of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers,
Dennis Collier and wife Linda of Steelville, Missouri and Russell
Collier and wife Tina of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters, Pauline
Schriefer and husband Scott of St. Louis, Missouri and Jeanette
Collier of Cuba, Missouri; two grandsons; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday,
May 14, 2013 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville,
Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with
Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. The obituary and eulogy were shared
by Mick Kenner. Special music of “Simple Man,” “God Gave Me You”
and “If Tomorrow Never Comes” was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Davisville Cemetery
at Davisville, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Russell Collier, Dennis Collier, Jason
Williamson, Nicholas Collier, Jake Collier and Travis Collier.

Karen Annette Cook
Karen Annette Cook of St. James, Missouri was born on
August 8, 1963 in Rolla, Missouri to John Trowbridge and
Geraldine Watkins and passed away at her home on Monday,
May 13, 2013 at the age of 49 years, 9 months and 5 days.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sisley Yates and one
brother, James Daniel Trowbridge.
She is survived by her father, John Trowbridge and step-mother Norma
Trowbridge of Steelville, Missouri; mother, Geraldine Watkins of
Rolla, Missouri; husband, Jerry Cook of Belle, Missouri; three sons,
Matthew John Yates of Cook Station, Missouri, Chadd Allen Yates and
wife Desiree of Cook Station, Missouri and Cody Dennis Yates and wife
Brittney of Owensville, Missouri; one daughter, Sarah Yates of
Steelville, Missouri; one brother, Michael John Trowbridge of Rolla,
Missouri; and two sisters, Chris Murphy of Tallahassee, Florida and
Elizabeth Miles and husband Terry of Steelville, Missouri; nine grand-
children; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2 p.m.
at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Allen Miles
officiating.
Burial was in the Asher Cemetery in rural St. James, Missouri.

Robert W. Cunningham
Robert W. Cunningham of Sullivan, Missouri, was born July 12, 1939
at Cuba, Missouri to Jackson Harvey and Anna Susan (Caulley)
Cunningham and passed on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the age of
73 years, 9 months and 1 day.
He was raised around the Cuba area until the age of 16. He then
resided in the St. Louis area for a time and later come back to
Sullivan to live. Robert was a 15-year employee at the Chrysler
Assembly Plant in Fenton, Missouri and retired early due to ill
health.
On April 12, 1958 he was united in marriage to Joan Zimmer in
St. Louis and to this marriage six children were born.
Robert was a member of Saint Anthony Parish of Sullivan,
Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson and Anna
Cunningham; three brothers, Thomas, John and Sherman Cunningham
and three sisters, Carrie Donnelly, Virginia Arakaki and Loetta
Beck.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of the family home; four sons,
Robert Cunningham Jr., Keith Cunningham and wife Kathy, Brian and
Kurt Cunningham, all of Sullivan, Missouri; two daughters, Denise
Ray and Stacie Murray, both of Sullivan, Missouri; two brothers,
Frank Cunningham and wife Cathy of Cuba, Missouri and Charles
Cunningham and wife Linda of St. James, Missouri; three sisters,
Laura Forshee of the state of Michigan, Betty Houleffer of
St. Louis, Missouri and Bertie Morris of the state of Michigan;
seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the
Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated 10 a.m., Friday,
May 17, 2013 from Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan,
Missouri with the Rev. Paul Telkin officiating.
Interment was in the Saint Anthony Cemetery.

Sullivan, Missouri.
Ruth Bernice Goodman
Ruth Bernice Goodman of Belle, Missouri was born on June 19, 1929 in
Phelps County, Missouri to Robert Bruce and Mabel A. (Emmons) Overton
and passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at her home at the age of
83 years, 10 months, and 23 days.
Ruth was united in marriage to Thomas E. Goodman on
September 17, 1950 in Phelps County, St. James, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mabel Overton.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Goodman of Belle, Missouri;
four sons, Thomas David Goodman and wife Jackie of Belle, Missouri,
Robertson Phillip Goodman of Mt. Sterling, Missouri, Roger Matthew
Goodman of Belle, Missouri and Dennis Kurt Goodman of New Orleans,
Louisiana; two daughters, Suzan Rohrer and husband Kevin of Belle,
Missouri and Lucinda Rae Brands of St. Louis, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 9-11 a.m. prior to
the memorial service at the First Christian Church in Belle,
Missouri.
Memorial service was conducted on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 a.m.
at the First Christian Church in Belle, Missouri with Jonathan W
ooley and Mitchell Seaton officiating.

Donald “Allen” Green
Donald “Allen” Green of Sligo, Missouri was born May 5, 1952 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Corbett and Betty (Smith) Green and passed
away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his home.
On December 8, 1989 in Davisville, Missouri he was united in
marriage to Lisa Haney.
Allen worked as a truck driver for over 25 years. He enjoyed
watching television, reading and raising cattle. Most of all, he
loved being around his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Corbett; his sister,
Robin Green; and grandson, David Jairus Lunsford III.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Green of Sligo, Missouri; his
mother, Betty Green of Davisville, Missouri; four daughters,
Jennifer Lessley and husband Jeffery and Lana Hicks and husband
Michael, all of Belleview, Missouri, and Sheona Norfolk of Salem,
Missouri and Onisha Green of Sligo, Missouri; three brothers,
Ronnie Green and Roger Green and wife Patricia, all of Cherryville,
Missouri and Michael Green and wife Karen of Caledonia, Missouri;
two sisters, Tammy McCartney and husband Pat of House Springs,
Missouri and Donna Alvey and husband Chester of Steelville,
Missouri; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Dakota, Kasie, Lacie,
Elizabeth, McKenzie and Paityn; other relatives and friends.
The family will have a gathering in memory of Allen later in the
summer.

Ida Emmaline Hewkin
Ida Emmaline Hewkin (nee Ledbetter) of Eureka, Missouri, formerly
of Davisville, Missouri, was born at Short Bend, Missouri on
November 1, 1917 to Edward and Lillie (Talley) Ledbetter and passed
away Friday, May 17, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Eureka at the
age of 95 years, 6 months and 16 days.
In May of 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to
Fred Hewkin.
Ida had been a member of the First Baptist Church at Cherryville for
many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Martha & Mary Chapter
#364 of Steelville, Missouri and had earned her 50-year pin several
years ago. For many years, she enjoyed gardening and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillie Ledbetter;
her husband, Fred Hewkin in 1999; one brother, Bill Ledbetter; one
sister, Iva Simmons; five brothers-in-law, Walter Hewkin and wife Eva,
Arthur Hewkin and wife Della, Silas Hewkin and wife Clella, Clifford
John Hewkin and wife Opal and Albert Hewkin and wife Marvene; two
sisters-in-law, Minnie Heithaus and husband Herman and Pearl Coffman.
She is survived by her two sons, Alfred Hewkin of Valley Park,
Missouri
and Robert Hewkin of Davisville, Missouri; one daughter, Judy Gander
of Eureka, Missouri; six grandchildren, Alfred Hewkin, Jr. and wife
Lois, Robin Barnett and husband Jesse, Tammy Moore, Joy Vance and
husband Chris,
Lindsey Hewkin and Kimberly Obenauer and husband Kurt; 10 great
grandchildren, Bryan, Dustin, Jaime, Rhiannon, Gracelyn, Audrey,
Brendan, Jenna, Ethan and Delana; two great great grandchildren,
Hailey and Keira; one sister-in-law, Ruby Ledbetter of St. Louis,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
An Eastern Star service from the Cuba Chapter was held at 7 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Loesch officiating.
Special music of “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace” was sung
by Bob and Carol Coleman.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Turnbough Cemetery at
Davisville, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Dustin Hewkin, Bryan Baumbach, John Wachter,
Fred Hewkin, Jesse Barnett and Jaime Turnbough.

Cecilia Delores Maes
Cecilia Delores Maes of Wildwood, Missouri, formerly of Leasburg,
Missouri, was born to John J. and Katherine (Kelley) Nicholson on
December 16, 1917 in Lemay, Missouri and passed away Sunday,
May 12, 2013 in Wildwood, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
Cecilia was united in marriage to LeRoy Maes on April 27, 1940 in
Lemay, Missouri and to this union five children were born.
Cecilia and LeRoy owned and operated the Leasburg Grocery Store and
later the Ben Franklin Store in Cuba, Missouri. She was involved in
many community events and helped establish the Leasburg Senior
Citizens Apts. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo and taking
care of her family was the most important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katherine
Nicholson; husband, LeRoy Maes; son, Robert L. Maes; one sister,
Mary Rose Peeler; two brothers, Sylvester and Emmett Nicholson; one
grandson, Shawn Ryan.
She is survived by her four children, Dr. Myron L. Maes of Baltimore,
Maryland, Dr. Vernon L. and wife Jan Maes of Goshen, Indiana,
Sylvia and husband William Ryan of Wildwood, Missouri, Patricia
and husband Dr. Craig Lawson of St. Louis, Missouri; seven
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 9-10:30 a.m. at
the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at
Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Francis Doyle as the celebrant.
Interment followed at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Leasburg, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba,
Missouri.
Alexis “Alex” Michelle Shaffer
Alexis (Alex) Michelle Shaffer of St. James, Missouri was born on
June 13, 2000 in Springfield, Missouri to Cris Lamar and Regina K.
(Wooley) Shaffer and passed away at her home on Wednesday,
May 15, 2013 at the age of 12 years, 11 months and 2 days.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Kenneth and
Jean Shaffer.
She is survived by her parents, Cris Lamar and Regina K. (Wooley)
Shaffer; one sister, Nicole Faith Shaffer of St. James, Missouri;
maternal grandparents, Floyd and Carol Wooley of St. James, Missouri;
one aunt, Lori Valverde of Waynesville, Missouri; and two uncles,
Tony Wooley and wife Lisa of Huntsville, Texas and Brad Shaffer of
California; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 a.m.
at the First Pentecostal Church in Vichy, Missouri with Tim
Blackwell officiating.
Burial was in the Broadway Memorial Cemetery in rural St. James,
Missouri.

Myrtle G. Woods
Myrtle G. Woods of Cuba, Missouri was born to Joel B. and Fannie B.
(Phillips) Walker on December 20, 1924 in East Prairie, Missouri
and passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her home at the age of
88 years.
Myrtle was united in marriage to Cleo Woods on February 27, 1941
and to this union two children were born.
Myrtle retired in 1998 from Paramount Apparel in Bourbon after
25 years of dedicated service. She volunteered at the Cuba Head
Start program for many years. She enjoyed flowers, sewing, reading
and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Fannie Walker;
husband, Cleo Woods; three brothers, Gene, Earl and Edward Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat and husband Dennis Whitworth
of Catawissa, Missouri; son, Curtis and wife Linda Woods of Cuba,
Missouri; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great
great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at
the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at
the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Sanders, officiating.
Interment followed at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home in
Cuba, Missouri.
